Yeh it’s an xl I’m looking at. Currently ride a asr5 in a large which is a similar length to the xl 5010. The one I’ve got the chance of is also specked with pikes rather than 32’s.

I was going to take a punt on the trigger 2 carbon when it was 1799.. just noticed it went up 200 quid. How do these bikes size up? I’m 6ft 1″ with a 34″ inside leg. Currently ride a large asr5 which feels ‘slightly’ small..

Same as most peeps above. Can of coke at the feed station after the hike a bike and like one other I cramped up after the hike a bike as well. Just be prepared to get wet! Hope the weather’s good as it’s a stunning bit of the country.

Unfortunately the spacers are a necessity as I have a bad back and cant get that low.. :(. Wheels are actually farsport 38mm clinchers, that my friend gave me (he put the mavic decals on!).. wheels are 1380g before tubes q/release etc..

It’s an XL. It’s the right size. Really long legs and short torso.. got back problems hence the spacers and positive rise in stem.

Did it in 2013- it was a scorcher that day! Agree with everything above.. new socks for after the water crossing and possibly boggy hike a bike. watch the water bars on the special stage decent into kinlochleven..there big! If you get the weather its ace!

Did nan Bield at the end of this route

    http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/mtbroutes/staveley-three-passes/

it was my first visit to the lakes and finishing the ride with the hike a bike up nan bield into a howling wind probably wasn’t the best idea..

I’m just realising I’m having the same problem. Never knew the name of the area where I needed more or better padding. Now I know! I’m looking at the endura’s, but not sure on width of pad as they measure the pad according to your sit bones..

@plop pants, you wouldnt have a pic of your bike? just wanting to see how it sits with someone with similar proportions to me. Went and tried a 56 in evans and with a fair bit of seatpost it wasnt far away from the setup im on just now. Would ideally tried the bike in question but its a frame and fork deal.. 😕

cheers folks. @plop pants.. were just about the same proportions, and i was leaning towards the XL.How do you find the bike? does it climb well.. looking for something a bit more responsive than my defy..also only 5mm difference in the top tube from my current setup and there is a lot of seatpost showing on my defy. :-).

Yeh, I’ve seen this, but wasn’t planning on spending that much. It looks like it’s either that or a 7″ netbook . .
