I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily the chainset. I’ve just built a 1×11 on my santa cruz using XT for the back end with raceface aeffect cranks and a hope bottom bracket and a 28t chairing and I’m having the same problem. 😕

Just built a tallboy up in an xl.. bought the frame in the classifieds.. Full 1×11 build came in at 2.2k. It’s an Ltc and it’s the cc frame 😀

Drive a V40 at the moment. Great car.. I’ve got a 2.0D sport without a dpf. If you can find one without a dpf go for it as they are troublesome to say the least! There basically a focus with a different body; so cheapish parts.

VM here. Just got it installed 1 month ago. My main reason is the BB speed. I’m getting 207mb.. 😯

In addition to the above post, I’m having to repaint the window frames due to the condensation making a mess of them.. what’s the best way to strip , prep and repaint to stop them looking a mess?

Any sign of this on Virgin?

I have the same problem as op. I stay in a basement apartment and have no ventilation. Old style single glazing as it’s a listed building.. thinking about trickle vents or similar. Run a dehumidifier for a lot of the time and wipe down the condensation as best I can..

I used sierramtb when i went out at the start of Dec. Great company and guiding. I was the only one out that week so had the guide to myself. Did the golf ball climb and decent and also telecom up then down..did a lot of other singletrack while I was out there. . Wish I was back there!

I’m running spesh purgatory and butcher both tubeless with no problems.

Take a look at hunt wheels. Reasonably light aluminium clincher that you can run tubeless if you wish..

As said above.. I use Evans a lot more these days as they price match and there evoucher scheme if you spend X amount is also good.

I’m running raceface aeffect cranks with a raceface 28t chainring. .

I’ve gone 28t upfront with an 11-42 on the back. Would rather have that bail out gear if needed, that’s on a Santa cruz tallboy..

Been using Mugdock cycles in Glasgow recently and Keith has been extremely helpful everytime I go in. Also Evans in braehead.. nothings every too much trouble for the guys and girls and always go out there way for you..

As several above have said 28t at the front and 42 at the back is just about the same as the good old triple granny ring and big ring at the back. I’d rather have a bail out gear rather than not..

Sorry can’t help with the 26t.. have you tried ubyk? I’m probably going down the route of an aeffect cranks with a 28t raceface chain ring. What’s your impressions on the cranks?

Had a similar dilemma. Ended up plunging for a 29er build after hiring one to try. Was amazed at how much quicker it was going up and it just flattens stuff on the way down..

Lol.. I’m going a 28t at the front as I like spinning up the hills. Not fussed pushing it that hard on the downs!

I’m going to go for the raceface aeffect cranks with a 28t chairing from ubyk can get them both for £105 which I think is a good price. Just need to find myself a 1×11 mech, shifter and cassette!

Got the chance of a sram 1×11 x1 setup. Does anyone know if I can fit a 28t chairing on this?
