Not disputing the fact that several may have been altered, but the ones with dealer service historys will be legitimate.

Theres plenty of diesels out there that are 06 plates that have done less than 100k… 😕

Another one thats worth a look is a seat ibiza 1.9tdi fr.. good economy, all the toys, decent build quality and £135 a year tax.. 😉

Im having the same dilemma. started a thread the other day on this. Looked at civics, A3 and jetta/golf. A good forum to go on regarding the civic is http://www.civinfo.com . Seems like there prone to the dual mass flywheel going, which is a costly job. this was what i was looking at but a few peeps were saying that the economy isnt that good compared to others if your doing short journeys. cheaper to tax than the competition also. Ive got an audi A2 just now and love the build quality and although they are a bit ‘boring’ the A3 seems to get better real world mpg and is well put together. Also looked at the seat altea tdi.. you’ll get an 06 plate one for that money.

No worries 🙂 wasn’t wanting to remove the linkage but that looks like the only way to do it. So few roscoe owners about with them in one piece that its hard to find someone thats done it and I dont want to take to lbs for what seems to be an easy job.

Yes.. im going to service a shock but dont know how to remove it..ive serviced an rp23 before on a previous bike. Never done one on my roscoe. As tonyd says, it looks like the bottom bolt is covered by the linkage. Didn’t want to have to start removing things that I didn’t need too, thats why im asking.

yes.. by the looks of things its not just as easy as removing the bolt that holds the bottom eyelet the the shockmount. i cant seem to gain access to it..!

Thanks for taking the time to write that fivespot. yeh, its what i was suspecting. ive got an audi just now and i do love the build qaulity etc..i know some people think there boring but to be honest its reliability that im after. not that interested about performance as i pootle about doing 65-70 on m/ways.Ive seen an A3 i like with 1/2 leather, bose, etc but my main concern was economy and you say that you reckon your A3 comes out tops on this..might sway me more towards the A3..

Thanks for reply’s. Ive got an altura extreme x which is event and find it great, but i usually just ride with a base and a softshell. The paclite was to carry incase of any unexpected rain. @tlr, berghaus do/did a paclite shell and a paclite extreme, i wasnt sure wheather there was a difference..

I did the grand canyon xl, risco blanco xl and finally the northern trails on the fri. Cant really compare it to a lot of uk riding.. its very rocky and dusty.. dry and loose trails. Most of the northern trails is steep and rocky with a section of steep switchbacks thrown in.the rocky stuff Reminds me a bit of the ciaran path and the devils satircase.. They give you cannondale rz 120’s on the mon and wed and rz 140’s for the fri..

hey, ive done the northern trails one your talking about. did another couple during the week (mon & wed tours) which were more or less fireroad and some loose decents but nothing ‘really’ technical.. the northern trails are a lot more technical! go prepared with kneepads & elbowpads etc as its pretty techy and steep. You get driven about 1 1/2hrs into the middle of the island and to one of the highest points and its all downhill from there.. its mostly rocky all the way with the odd bit of ‘earthy’ trails.. theres a member on the forum that was my guide during the week, his name is jamie. Never knew we were both STW members until i got back and noticed him posting!
