Last two times we moved, I struggled to get the transport bolts back in our cheap Beco washing machines. And both then leaked. Getting the bolts back in my mother’s Miele was a lot easier, and it went 1200 miles in the movers lorry no problem and no leaks.

The bolt for Bosch seem to range from £5-10. I’d buy the bolts, it’s cheap insurance. Then keep them.

I moved a shed that size with three round fence posts, crow bar and a few shims. On muddy ground so used some old decking boards to run on. Had one helper. Once on rollers moved easily.

Bought a Victorian house a couple of years ago. Previous owner has fitted a Daiken Altherma. It’s a gas combi boiler with a ASHP. So depending on outside temp it will run on ASHP till it gets too cold and then switch to gas. It’s slow to heat up on ASHP, but trick is not too let it get to cold.

ASHP fan is ugly, not as noisy as I thought it would be though. With nothing to compare it too, can’t tell what running costs are like, but it uses ASHP about 80% of time I’d guess. We’d be too cold with just a ASHP though as the old building doesn’t retain heat well.

I’ve got some of the Community Clothing chinos. They are not skinny fit or too old man looking.

Tesco actually stock it round my way (Bucks), it usually needs a few days aging to get it nice and soft.

First trip Les Gets, I rode a hire bike with brakes euro style and didn’t die. I’m a bimbler though, so was riding conservatively, if as others have said if your more aggressive/on the limit type of rider you could run into problems.

As I’m too cack handed to set up canti’s well I went down this route, on my cross bike. Textro’s of some description I can’t recall the model. They work well and less faff than the canr’s.

As there is no cable barrel adjuster on STi’s or the mini vee’s you need some of these as well http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BSTKCGP90D/tektro-cable-guide-pipe-90-degree

Stayed here http://www.arts-hotel-paris.com/ 18months ago for three nights and would go back there. Plenty of food options near by.

What do they offer in terms of European roaming?

Got them on the crosscheck, set up so the drops are comfy. Still feel a bit wide, but I’m running a shorter stem than I would do for normal road drops which helps. For just road use I wouldn’t fit them. But for bridleway basing they are ideal. I’m running bar end shifters.

Good route, didn’t get lost. And used some of the accommodation listed on the site and it was spot on.

I’ve got a triple on my nice road bike, as I’d rather spin than walk up hills when I get tired. And closer ratio cassette has less gaps at the low end.

I use MTB shoes on road with SPD pedals. But run the cleats in different places, fully forward on road and fully back on the MTB. So I’ve got two pairs of shoes with the different set ups. You may not be as fusy as me so one pair of shoes could work.

I’ve had a Crossbow about five years now. I’ve used it for road rides, touring, commuting and of road fun. Can’t fault it really. Id get the disc version if I was buying now.

Currently thinking of getting the Endura Pakajak

Got one recently, packs small, light enough, fit not too loose and venting is reasonable. Works well for the odd shower or as a windproof layer to retain a bit of warmth.

For £19.99 from Cycle surgery I’m happy. Link

with triple sti, road triple front mech and mtb triple chainset

Works on my Crossbow, had to put spacers on non drvie side of the crank so the chain line is correct for the MTB cranks.

MTB mech and road shifters is where it gets complicated and I didn’t go there.

Edit – thats a road width BB though so…

120-150 DPC Sektors, run at 120 most of the time, with 150 occasionally when needed.

I did this route http://www.donaldhirsch.com/dieppeparis.html last year. Used the standard London to Brighton route to get down to Newhaven, which was the hardest bit I found.

I’m considering a Cross Check at the moment and can’t find anything the right size, new & in-stock cheaper that ticks the same box’s. Steel frame, canti’s, and braze-on’s for guards and rack. I should have bought the old Kaffenback when I had the chance in hindsight.

My SLT has a dent in the same spot. It looks like its supposed to be there like a chainstay dent for clearance. But I’m not entirely sure. I’ll take a pic tonight.
