The blue at gt is an odd one due to the mix of riders it attracts. I’ll echo mikewsmiths post though, there was someone letting his 2 small girls play on the bridge and in the blind spot after it on Saturday. A mate who was riding up spotted a potentially very nasty near miss when a rider coming over the bridge nearly took both girls out.

Good luck with getting lifts in luchon in June, we went last year and they didn’t open until July.

I was asking as I’ve got the 12l version, and the bladder does taste a bit funny now. Maybe take it out in between rides. Apart from that I like it, not too heavy and pretty comfortable

Yorkycsl, where did you read that?

The John Connolly books about Charlie Parker are good, a mix of supernatural and thriller. Clive Barker is another good shout

I’ve never had any problems with maxxis before, I used to run a super tacky minion in summer and swamp thing up front in winter, both lasted surprisingly well and were ace. The side knobs in my high roller 2 aren’t worn / breaking up, they’re whole but just not attached to the tyre properly! I’ll probably replace it with a butcher as I’ve already got one, see how that goes

Not the HR2 if you’re using the 3C compound, mine lasted 3 months before all the side lugs split. Now weighing up butcher or minion to replace it with

Looks about normal it seems. Standard compound in future then! I don’t know if I trust it leave it on. I’ve had a few moments when it’s felt like the fronts about to go which may have been the knobs folding. Now what to replace it with…

Currently all very fast and dry (and dusty). Unless it rains lots conditions should be good. That’s what I’m hoping as it’s my local!

I had the same happen a couple of years ago. They replaced it free of charge. Still a pain though

Check your Rebound settings too, I had the same feeling (on a 29er hr2 as well) but slowing the Rebound helped.

We’ve got 2 sets of the 2014 versions here, both sets were ready taped and just needed sealant. Went up easily with a track pump too

I’ve been told mine are being repaired not replaced, which is strange after what’s been said above. Wait and see when they finally arrive

I had the same, the whole assembly spinning on the damper side. The forks ended up going back to Fisher. And after 5 weeks they’re still there…

The end of the verderers was running yesterday, currently graded red

I’ve been told they will be back for the end of next week, fingers crossed they are!

    Ps thanks all

Anyone got any email address that works? The link on the website just bounced mine back.

I am trying to get the returns number, but without much success unfortunately. fisher won’t give me any information without it either, which is why I’m querying it on here. I may drop them an email anyway

Bump for the daytime crowd. Is that usual from Fisher?

Ok. I’d heard their turn around was usually pretty quick, but after over 2 weeks in limbo with no forks, eta on them being returned or decision on whether it is warranty I’m starting to question that!

MBR tested both recently and preferred the stumpy ride wise, but admitted the cube is much better kitted out. I’ve a stumpjumper evo and it’s great, can’t comment on the cube though. The camber evo looks a great bike too and is a bit cheaper

PJM – yep. Was recommended it by a guy who works for sram and had one. Works fine.

    Edit – mines an Evo

If you’re not there purely for dh and on a trail bike you don’t have to run dual plies. 10 of us went last year, all on single ply tyres I think and we had 1 puncture all week riding the passportes and a mix of other stuff. Most were on maxxis, I was on specialized. Most of us were running tubeless as well

Mine had a really inconsistent bite point so I’ve replaced them with XT. However, the ones on the Mrs bike are fine though

Anyone know what offset the evo’s supposed to have?

I’ve done the same with mine, climbs fine with the rct3 solo air forks, and they’re the 150mm version. Mind you, I never used travel adjust on forks when they had them.

Peasant, I think this year’s has shimano as standard instead of the formulas. Much better!

I think the shock on the enduro and stumpjumper are different sizes. I’m considering getting the basic shock on my stumpy evo pushed by tf tuned as it’ll be much simpler than replacing it

Mine was getting sluggish in the cold, bled it and now much better

Andyrm, I have the same problem when snowboarding so now always use goggles. I was riding in the FOD today so definitely not big descents! Tear offs and rubbish is definitely a problem on the trails here, maybe worth starting another post

Al, I was asking as I was curious. I tried the goggles and open face once a couple of years ago but found they fogged badly on everything apart from dh stuff so seemed pointless for general riding. However, it seems to be coming more popular in the real world (as in not just magazine photos) so was wondering if there was a benefit, particularly as it seems to negate some of the advantages of modern bikes. From what’s been said it seems for general riding it’s more a fashion thing

    trusty

ART, but if you’re uplifting at a bike park why not not have a full face?

Ps I’m not trolling, just trying to find out why it’s becoming popular and if there’s a real benefit to it

    trusty

HonourableGeorge, these guys definitely weren’t fast, but I see your point

    trusty

I’ll wear goggles with a full face, but that’s usually only if I’m uplifting. If you’re enduro racing and know you’ll have time at the top and bottom of a run and conditions are filthy maybe I can see the point as it’s more protection. So are we saying for normal trail riding it’s definitely just a fashion thing and there’s no real reason?

You have to replace the whole lever body / master cylinder. I think silverfish are the importers and I got one thru my lbs for about £45 for the Mrs’ bike. Personally I’d put the money towards something shimano, my C1s made a racket and ate brake pads in hours.

Did some people have a sense of humour bypass over the break? Anyway, I’m about to ride my 29er on some 650b specific trails and kill some kittens

Edit – P Jay beat me to it

I think that photo was in between the snow flurries, and just after my comedy moon walking attempts. Steep muddy banks and 5.10 shoes don’t mix!

Alex, I’d managed to block that y das ride from my memory! I don’t think I’ve ever pushed my bike quite so much!

Hi cnud. I’ll be leaving it until the new year, I can’t afford one right now! I’ll report back when I do

That’s what I wanted to hear :D looks like it’ll be a late Christmas present for me. You guys running them with the standard tune?

Ta, I’ll email them and see if they’re getting the specialized fitting ones.
