I think crank arms are identical on x0 and xx1, the removable spider is different though. X0 uses a standard bcd while xx1 doesn’t. Both will take a direct mount chain ring.

The evo front triangle is the same as the non evo one as far as I know, the magic happens around the shock :D

What PJM was getting at is that you can run a dropper remote through part of the top tube, it exits by the shock. Unless it’s carbon you can’t use a stealth one without drilling holes in the frame

Back in Suffolk I’m afraid, be up for it another time though

Are these the ones fitted to the Capra? 2 friends have them, one trashed the rear rim completely coming up short on a jump, the other is a wheels on the ground xc rider who has still managed to put some fairly impressive dents in the back wheel despite thinking tyres should be at least 35 psi

The bolt on my Pikes did the same when I tried to service them, returned to Fishers and replaced under warranty. No idea on the air spring, I’ve never let the air out when I’ve done a lowers service

Currently the free beanie from mbuk, buff under the lid when it’s cold enough.

    Yep, just trees. And boar.

They are, but the forestry commission aren’t keen on riding in there so don’t tell anyone

Chip butty with a donut to follow. And probably a kip!

And I’ll second the comments about the storms. Surprisingly grippy on pretty much everything, but need higher pressures to stop rim strikes and tyre roll.

I’ve got a magic mary on the front, seems to work on the mixed conditions we get around the forest of Dean area. I haven’t tried one on the back yet, I’d imagine it would be pretty slow. A few of the locals have gone for the shorty but I’ve not tried one yet

The guide on pinkbike works for me, not tried the sram one

I think only the carbon frame has proper stealth routing, my aluminium frame only has the internal top tube routing. The entry hole by the steerer is slightly too small to fit a reverb, but I’ve drilled it out a fraction so the hose fits. It’s not a stealth one btw

I find whatever moisturising cream I can get my hands on when it wakes me at 2am helps! E45 if I remember before I go to bed. No idea what causes it

It is a good shock, and a big improvement over the Fox one originally fitted. However it still surprises me how little oil and suspension grease comes in them from new and that it was visibly wearing before it had been on the bike a month

Mine did this, before it was due it’s first service. It was replaced under warranty but they weren’t overly happy with doing itas the shock wasn’t technically broken. I opened the replacement up before fitting, there was virtually no lubrication in there. What bike was it fitted to? Stumpy evo for me

Is the Bird going to get dirty then widge? I’ll be running magic Marys in trailstar, they work for me. I haven’t tried the shorty yet though to compare.

It’s (not very imaginatively) http://www.offsetbushings.com. I assumed you meant the 29er evo. I went from 140 to 150 when I upgraded the forks, can’t say I noticed the extra 10mm

I just put an offset shock bush in, I figured 150 was enough with only 135mm on the back

That’s probably dowies, and it’s still there. It gets wet but not really muddy

The debonairs do take silly high pressures. I’m only a couple of kilos heavier than you and need 260psi in the one fitted to my stumpy evo. Just remember to add 50psi at a time and compress the shock before adding more. It is a faff but apparently it’s the only way

Something like that  it’ll be wet, and the off piste will be muddy. Where abouts were you heading?

I like to explore, but tend to do it on my own. That way if it goes wrong there’s no one apart from me to throw the toys out of the pram

Had a spin after work yesterday. The new bits of the freeminers I rode were pretty slick, and the short section of the verderers was just wet. I had a play on the off piste stuff in between the centre and Elwood and that was pretty slick! It’s dry and breezy here so should start to dry a bit for tomorrow, but it looks like more rain for Sunday

    Scotroutes, you win the cigar.

Gelert, good luck with your forks. Fisher were great with my Pikes once they got them.

5-10 minutes, depending on where I’m going

Yep, forks were replaced and are on the bike :D the fault was with who sent them back, as they sat on them for 6 weeks before posting them despite saying they’d gone.

however, fisher do have my monarch plus rear shock as wear was apparent on the shaft before it was due it’s first service. They say it’s not warranty, possibly as I’ve left it a while before sending it back but are checked with sram.

Just back from les arcs which was ace and had a good mix. Not sure what lift assisted stuff there is in the pyrenees, I rode in luchon last year and was thoroughly underwhelmed. Be aware most resorts close their lifts in a couple of weeks, end of August is often the end of their season

Magic mary (and all schwable tyres) are pretty cheap on r2-bike.com at the moment, ordered 4 tyres a couple of weeks ago and the whole lot came to £115 delivered. Better than £50 each!

The rock razor in the dry loose conditions around here is amazing, more grip than the hr2 it replaced on the flat and leant over. I suspect it’ll be interesting as soon as it rains properly though

As slackman said, the routing on the aluminium ones goes in by the head tube and exits half way along the top tube by the shock. It works ok but isn’t as neat as proper stealth routing as you’ve still got the loop of cable / hose by the seat tube. Something else to be aware of is that the entry hole is drilled for a cable operated dropper, so if you run a reverb you’ll need to ream it out a little

Looks good, haven’t read those for a while. A lot of source material to pick from now, isn’t it up to about 15 books of different series?

I had the side knobs tear off a 3c high roller 2, which is partly why I’m looking at alternatives. Good to hear it’s warranty if the same happens on a schwable tyre

It’s on a trail bike, mm front and rear would be excellent training but probably a bit slow. I like the HR2 but was wondering if either of these could replace it, especially with the prices from Europe at the moment. I like the idea of the nn for more speed, but the couple of reviews I found didn’t rate it in the wet and I don’t want to have to keep swapping

Franksinatra, these had been there for a while. The girls were stood on the bridge waving at riders below when I rode up and were still there when my mate pottered up at the back a few minutes later so had spent some time there. At least that’s what it looked like.
