Could just be the foam ring under the wiper seal, I had one which was catching on the stanchion and caused a similar feeling. Dropping the lowers and refitting it sorted it out

I’ve Superstar headsets in a RocketMAX and a Squatch, both are a couple of years old and running smoothly.

If I’m exploring a new area I tend to look up routes on Trailforks and then import them into View Ranger and follow from my phone. If View Ranger is being pulled I’ll need to find a new mapping app, which is a shame as I thought it worked well

@metalheart that’s a similar set up to what I’ve got on my Squatch as it’s got a really short headtube, from memory the moxie is similar. my rocketmax only has 15mm rise bars to get a similar bar height.

When I was looking for spares for mine Clee Cycles were about the only place in the UK I could find apart from eBay.

Reverb’s don’t like the cold, they’re definitely slower when the temperature drops

I ended up swapping bits out until I tracked it down.

Chainring. I got 5 months out of a Wolftooth one, it then refused to play with a new chain so got binned. I wasn’t happy

Are these the Trail 2 or whatever they are on Wiggle? They came up really small – I’m a 30-32″ waist normally but like you not slim thighs so went medium. They looked sprayed on! Definitely wouldn’t have got pads on under them either. I’ve just got a set in large which are fine. With a 34″ waist I’d be tempted to go XL.

Is that the charger 1 or charger 2? Zyro Fisher had some cheap charger 2 pike dampers on their eBay shop (£70) last week

Widge! Funnily enough I gave mine it’s test ride today. Probably make the BB a bit low. If you want to pop round with a wheel to see if it fits give me a shout

Don’t TFT do wheel rebuilds on DT Swiss factory wheel sets? They certainly were when I was looking for a replacement rim for a 1501 set

Deporvillage have the 1150 GX cassette in stock. I think they’re the only place!

I’d get a single 10mm adapter and have the wheel redished, it’ll be harder to lose than 2 small ones. I tried super glue (admittedly on a rear wheel) and it didn’t hold.

Might be worth trying some with less feather as well, as they need less flex / bend on the control wrist. Cheaper blades used to have almost a 90 degree offset from left to right, but less is much more comfortable if you’ve got wrist problems

As said above, different brands use a slightly different shape of crank so worth trying if you can. For example I never got on with Werners (I’ve probably still got a set in the shed) but my old Rough Stuff cranks were super comfortable

For all of you in Wales, did you get the letter automatically? I’ve had both my jabs, but done in England because of work (and because I live on the border) and no letter so far and I can’t use the app (because my GP is in Wales).

I hadn’t seen that NHS app, however it’s only for people who’s GP is in England.

Does that frame come with a shock? There’s no mention on the ad. If it doesn’t that’s a good chuck of your budget gone

That looks good, I’ll probably be on the HT too as it’s easier to get in the car! Anyone got a route? If not I’m happy to go old skool with a map

Reverbs used to come with a double ended barb for just that purpose, I have a couple in the box and it makes attaching the new cable outer to the old sooooo much easier and secure

Race Face are the same, the boostness (not a real word) is in the chainring

    @chakaping nicely done
Randomly it turned up 5 minutes after I posted on here. Delivery was DPD and then Parcelforce in the UK, tracking on both still puts it out of the country. No VAT bill so far….

My Charger damper from Bike Discount has been stuck in limbo since last Friday having been dispatched to the UK and apparently still hasn’t landed. Maybe it fell off the side of the ship? 😕

I’ll second what’s said above about the RF cranks – we’ve 4 sets in the house, 3 different versions of Aeffect and a set or Turbines. All just work, and changing the rings is easy if you’ve got an old ISIS / Octalink BB tool. The Turbines look a little nicer and are about 4g lighter, but last time I looked were pretty double the price of a set of Aeffect R cranks so I got those instead. If you go for the RF 30mm axle cranks (Turbine, Atlas) it’s worth spending £20 on the Cane Creek preload collar as the proper RF one doesn’t last long.

Just noticed the Performance HD can be had for £25 – anyone else tried one? I’m thinking if it works it would be a billy bargain as a back tyre.

Ta. Is that comparing same compound? I’d been looking at the semi: metallic ones.

The genuine formula ones only seem available from the EU sites and are at least 4x the cost. And that’s before getting into added cost and hassle for bringing them into the UK.

Has anyone tried fitting a direct mount bolt on mudguard instead of the DT Swiss one? In proper FOD slop it’s a bit short

Cotic brought in the shock restriction with the gen 3 rocketmax, it’s not a new thing for them.

Try running an old 11 speed Shimano shifter with the new I spec ev style brakes 😕 Clamp sits in the wrong place and there’s no backwards compatibility with older versions of I spec.

I haven’t been to La Plagne in a couple of years, but over the years I’ve tried it a few times coming over from Les Arcs and been disappointed. Lifts seem to be designed to only serve individual resorts with no easy way of linking them together without some big pedals – possibly why they were pushing themselves as an ebike resort? For added entertainment most lifts are only open on alternate days, and in past years you couldn’t find out what days until you got there. Also had the issue a couple of times that trails in the resort map (which you need to buy) don’t actually exist and seem to be a figment of someone’s imagination. I’m sure there’s some great riding there, but good luck finding it.

As said above contact their Adult Social Care team. You don’t needs a referral via the GP, in my experience a lot of GPs have limited knowledge of how ASC works anyway. Before contacting ASC you will need consent from your folks to make a referral.

Anyone over 65 can apply for Attendance Allowance, if both parents have needs they can both apply. Regarding Carer’s Allowance, unless things have changed drastically since I stopped working for ASC 6 months ago you can’t claim if you’re getting a pension. The easiest way to apply for Attendance Allowance is on the http://www.gov.uk website, you can do it all online. Or ring and have the forms posted.

Hi Cy, thanks for the response on the RocketMAX (I hadn’t seen that on PB). Is the shock stipulation only for the gen 3?

Great job on the new bfe, looks amazing

Mark – same here. It’s a Cane Creek il coil (which they used to spec). I wonder what the warranty would be?

I’d definitely like a bfe, but I’ll be sticking to my Ragley Big Wig for now!

Seems a bit weird I thought they did a shockless option??

I bought a Rocketmax in January without a shock. There was no mention that I’d have no warranty!

I seem to have spectacularly failed with the quotes….

Revolution Cycles in Ross is open, as is the workshop at Pedalabikeaway. Pretty sure JL Cycleworks is too. No idea who’s open at the South end of the FOD though

My E4s look amazing, and as long as set up is perfect they feel great. I’ve had problems with sticky pistons, and if they’re not aligned exactly power drops off significantly.

Are the new Shimano cranks a different fitting? Hadn’t realised.
You should stick to 11 speed like the rest of us 😀
