Ha Ha what a fun day today so much I forgot to take piccys so only the one

I think I am sold on the E concept it was like being 20 years younger on the climbs so had some energy left for the downs
and still had a pretty good workout

Having just returned from a weeks riding with a very mixed age group of friends 62 to 28 years young
One of the guys had an e mtb he is 60 and openly said he could not have done the rides without it .
I am considering one for myself before next years week away .
And so is the other over 60 mate then we can keep up with the whippets on the climbs .

I have a dodgy knee ( carpet fitter ). So if it keeps me riding and working I see nowt wrong with em .

The OP s issue is one he needs to sort out with his riding buddy

End of September, early October – kind of what I meant. Don’t get me wrong, I love Yorkshire – but end of September is not the greatest statistically for a successful outdoor event there. TdF in early July – good chance, Worlds in late September – not convinced that’s a good idea really.

september and october have been the best months for riding for the last 5 years
in my part of Yorkshire ( Skipton area )
July and August have been shite

We did it on the first of October last year. Awesome hot and sunny on the top
Telegraph valley claimed 6 of us to flats
    Them rain bars are evil
Lots of other tourists and that was on a Thursday

Ha ha. After 4 hours of bashing that beer keg my ears got fed up and my mate Luke with the monster hangover was very pissed off .
So chucked the van stereo on for a few tunes .

Sunday was just too windy for tunes or keg bashing .

ha small world yes you had section 1 2 3 start marshals trying as yourselves to get some decent scran after eating sarnies and mars \ snickers bars all day .

Yes we had some great banter with 90% of riders but some seemed terrified on sunday and some had the 1000 yard stare .

very strange observational skills from quite a few asking where the start was
when it was where I was standing

there is one gripe from marshals the start is where we are not 100 metres away for a flying start you risk the timing beacon not registering you .
and we cannot give you any info if you are 100 metres away

The Marshals are vital in this and should use discretion
But we are told at the briefing to keep riders flowing with 10 to 15 second gaps
But we cannot see if there are bottlenecks forming and have to rely on info from lower marshals

I mostly sent off riders at intervals depending on length of queue and how quick the preceding rider seemed as they disappeared over the top of 3

On the Sunday folks did not want to hang about up there with 50 mph winds and we’re happy to go at 10 second intervals after the medivac had been completed .
And I wanted you all off the hill asap so I could also get off the hill
But for most of sat and Sunday riders I let them choose their gap as never had huge queues
We did have one guy who was special and wanted the stages to himself and kept refusing my invites to ride
And folks kept jumping in front of him while he faffed about .

A lot of folks were with mates and wanted to chase each other so I had no problem with that
And some did ask me to hold the next rider a bit longer as they though they would be slow so had no complaints doing that

See you all next year probably at the top of three. I like it up ther

Also if any areas receive direct sunshine then the High Temp adhesive is recommended
    Also if underfloor heating

    trout
    Free Member

Yes I do this for a crust

Plywood gaps and screw holes will need skimming over
    We use Ardex Feather Finish.
We don’t use the pressure sensitive because it is not reliable and the tiles are only lightly stuck down
The standard adhesive is ok but you must lay the tiles into it while it is wet or it will not stick

The best way is to lay a small area which does not meet any cuts and let it dry. Then dry lay and do your cuts then take up and apply the adhesive and relay .

The concrete area must be dry and have a DPM underneath. This is a no go if any damp comes up it will lift the flooring
Screed it out with Ardex NA latex screed

    Tips
    Undercut the Architrives
Use thick paper to make templates round the bathroom pottery when you are dry fitting

Other screeds and feather screeds are available. But we like to use the best to avoid problems

You can of course hide any bad cutting with Silicon. But IMHO it looks crap

A hot air gun will soften the tiles to aid cutting but also can make the job look not professional if you over heat the tiles .

Happy to help out with any more questions

we have just borrowed a demo for the SO to try She gave up biking a few years ago due to a bad knee ,
she was all smiles after and during a 10 mile ride we did yesterday .
so a purchase is on the cards which will mean we can both go riding again together without her thinking she will be holding me up .

in fact it will be me trying to catch her up on the climbs .

I also did 15 miles on it and it was great fun the E only kicked in on the climbs and if I dropped below 16 mph so yes I can see it knocking a heap of time off a long ride

Cheers STM there was no problem with the Marris otter breaking down the bread I got pretty good conversion
Most of it was crumbs just the crusts broke up into lumpy bits .

Will have a look at those other malts for future brews .

All in it was a good experiment and a pretty good beer in return

Tis a very rewarding hobby but the downside is most pub beer tastes like its watered down piss

    Update
kegged it this morning and got the gas on so could not resist having a taste

tastes very summery and light for a 6% beer and very moreish even though its still a bit cloudy and young but very happy with the end result , its certainly got potential for future experiments and bring the cost of the grainbill down a little
Mrs Troutie also had a taste and said it was like a nice Lager She liked it so a winner there .
