    Marshalled last year
we got free camping / food / and beer and donations to Singletraction trailbuilders for each marshal.
was a great weekend and as Arnie says I will be back .
might be as a rider on the sat and marshal on sunday
Its a very well run event and I think good value at that price .

Tubeless with Floaters and on-one rims? Good luck with that

Got over 1000 miles on my OO wheels tubelessed with Floaters no problems or punctures ( well one where I got tangled in some barbed wire in the Pyrenees)

I think the shorter sat event is a good idea. as quite a lot of sundays riders. did the whole course on sat and then jibbed out on the race day

Your history suggests you come from a roady background so it will feel sluggish on all the surfaces in your list
get one on some rooty rocky muddy trails. or even your trail center stuff and you should see the point .

not for getting somewhere fast. but certainly for the grin factor

    Yes Fatty with Bluto

easy job now Hope do the proper hub for the job you can swop the fatty rim and spokes to save money
and get the crown race from OO

you may be able to convert the newer OO front wheel but the original is a non starter

yes a good latex based is best. ardex NA not cheap but sticks to most substrates snd is easy to get a good finish
there are other cheaper ones. but dont use a water based screed as will not adhere wellnto the old bitumen

Flooring fitter here and have taken up gazzillions of the so called Vynil Asbestos tiles in the years before we even knew it was not good for you so probably I am walking dead by now .

if you are putting new stuff like Amtico or Karndean down then the old tiles need to come up , just screeding over them is not good as the floor is only as strong as its weakest link which is the old tile to black bitumin adhesive so when it goes wrong you will still have the problem .

Get rid of them now is the best advise . they are very low level risk if you follow the rules .

Samcuk its a hope Fatsno 150mm hub and the on one fatty rim and spokes
IMHO the Bluto`s make a good bike great on the terrain mine gets used on
but would not be happy on the beach with em on a regular basis

Might do Grassington – Threshfield Moor – Mastilles Lane – Malham Tarn – Hawkswick Cote then road back to Grassington. How does that sound?

Yep met up with Ton and Junkyard last sunday and no problems with mud or bogs on any of that route .
and going up boss moor was surprisingly not boggy

    trout

Its not easy to separate em
    Both have 100 mm blutos
The Fatty is good but the Puffin seems to be a bit livelier and easier to lift the front end up over stuff.
large Puffin and medium Fatty but both quite similar in size better standover on the Fatty

Be a close call if I could only have one but would choose the Puffin but it would be 49 / 51 in favour

    trout
    Free Member

I have both and love em the Puffin rides a little better than the Fatty IMHO
but its probably subjective and I will never get near the limits of either .

will have to dig out the weights of both or get on the scales again

    Bluto`s on the puffin too

Bring on the next one Still stunned it was only 8 weeks when Ton was under the knife

Good to see both Ton and Junkyard again
hated the wind had a headwind for the first 8 miles from Hetton to street gate where they turned up nearly bang on time at 11.30
turned with the wind at our backs up and over to Arncliffe Cote
I think Tony enjoyed his first off road trip foe a long while

I then turned right and roaded back to Hetton in to a bastid wind where Ton and Junky went left and up the valley I did not envy them as the wind would have been brutal on the way back to Settle Hope you got back OK .
