Got a ZZr600 myself, what you describe is normal, leave the bike to warm up on the centre stand in neutral till the rear wheel stops turning, which is good practice anyway allows the oil to circulate.
Mine takes about 3 or 4 minutes, It’s caused by the viscosity of the cold oil causing the clutch plates to drag – also the kawi gearboxes are notoriously clunky especially 1st to 2nd.
If you haven’t already done so check out zzrinternational forum it’s a gold mine of information on these bikes including it’s bigger brother

    How’s you idle speed – should be @ 1100rpm

To be fair the procedure is not that painful, just a feel bit of tugging on the tubes, and your up and away in 30min. Don't think it's worth a general

Long painful story short it's not 100%.DNA is a wonderful thing

wouldn't of thought its turbo then, there would be clouds of blue smoke and the inlet tracts, after the turbo-intercooler etc. would be wet with oil. You need to get a torch and get your head in there. Oil don't flow upwards so look for the highest wet spot, if its that bad it shouldn't be too difficult to see.
Good call on the oil filter loose, i'd check that
Good luck – got one myself an excellent family taxi when all the bits that are going to fall off have. :D

Looks like part of a old Hands free kit to me. A Tracker would have a sim card slot in it some where. At least the ones we use has.

when you have the head off check carefully for cracks in the ports, it does sound like a crack. Head gaskets generally deteriorate rapidly when they go, causing poor running due to water vapour entering the cylinder. This usually causes the plug in the cylinder affected to have a slightly different colour/deposit. If one is slightly different to the other 3 focus you examination around that cylinder. Check the gasket also – there is nothing more satisfying than finding a pin hole in one and saying 'there you go thats me problem'
More than likely the gasket but worth checking the above

let us know how you get on. Much more satisfying doing it yourself

just make sure you fit the correct spacers if they are an after market replacement and the thinnest wheel is the upper one.Otherwise it's a doddle

Just a word of warning, make sure you have plenty of ventilation. Having worked in the mining industry myself in the foot steps of both sides of my family. We have always lived in a mining village, the houses have air bricks or vents of in all the rooms which inevitably get filled in or covered up to prevent draughts as the fires become disused. These were essential to provide air for the oxygen hungry fires, and no longer have a place in our double glazed insulated home. So if yours is covered find it and open it up
