So, which trail centres have a charging point then ?

Just remember, there are a lot of people in their 70’s and 80’s who would give everything they have to be 40.

Your future starts with today, so crack on and make it a good day. Build on it day by day, week by week. Of course you can be fitter, healthier and having more fun in your 50’s, 60’s, 70’s onwards than you do now. Im way past 40 and enjoy life more now than when I was 40. Im fitter as well.

I’ve not notice any resurgence of numbers. I ride a motorcycle and use the same helmet as I did decades ago. So no change in aero.

You would have to carry some bug cleaning spray and a cloth with you if you went for a weekend ride. Now you don’t need to and I hardly have to clean the visor for weeks.

There is an uptick when the Oilseed Rape is in flower, but nothing like it used to be years ago.

They could have used it to show how poor the truckers facilities are. Perhaps poo’ing in the hedge would have done it.

At my school in the 80’s, there was only one fat person.

Some is easy and smooth, but some is very bumpy. As its long Id go for comfort and go full sus XC bike.

After a week of cycling you will have ridden all the roads and trails on the island, then be left with the cheeky bits and that will cost you your job. Im out.

Wow, will be interesting to see how this develops, its not too far away so Id pop up for a spin.

Yup, previous years coverage was way better than this year. It was hyped up on GMBN, but so far its very disappointing.

Without good coverage you wont get an audience. If you expect people to pay to watch it in the future you need to generate a good following before forcing them to pay. At this rate there will be no audience left to force to pay to watch it.

Shame as its a great mix of XC and DH, basically what mountain bikes are good at and its the sort of riding we can relate to.

If I get one then the YT Capra will be sold, as it does the same job.
I regularly take my Jeffsy and Capra to the FoD, but pick the riding spots depending on the bike.

Sure there is some crossover, but generally the Capra does the cheeky death trail stuff like Staunton etc and of course the DH runs, the Jeffsy is for the trail centre, Dowies and that sort of stuff.

I’ve no idea what geometry works, so there is no way I could spec my own. I want that to have been done by someone who knows what they are doing. I would expect that because they can make the lugs in 16hrs, they can do lots of tweaking before committing. Unlike say some carbon frame where once you have paid mega bucks for a mould and committed to some Far East factory for several containers, its too late to change the geometry.

I will take the YT Capra on the demo as well, so have a back to back experience, probably take the Jeffsy as well.

Also I like the idea / concept and the look of it. That’s half the reason to get one. The price is less of an issue as it will be tax free. A Santa Cruz Bronson is 6k and you don’t get to spec it.

I’m going up there, despite just coming back from there last weekend. Its only about 6hrs drive !

I had a carbon frame repaired (by a proper carbon repairer) the repair was invisible and I could not feel any difference. So if I was not insured I would be happy getting my carbon frame repaired again. Done properly by someone who understands how a carbon frame is made will be fine.

I don’t think you will feel a difference if it is done properly. Also you would only be concerned about value if you reckon you will sell it at some point. Personally I’ve only ever sold bikes for peanuts as I use them till they are old enough for the Antiques roadshow.

But, a repaired one is not a new one – see what they say about who they use to fix it. If you know that then you may be able to make a decision. What does the small print say about new for old ?

I did all the trails at CyB in a day. All the Black/Red/Blue and Green ones. Took all day and hurt for a week after. Even the Green family trail at the end was a tough struggle :)

You will have to have a really good website, then get other businesses to contact potential customers.

Im using a custom motorcycle builder to do some engine work for me on an old motorcycle. He has no internet, no website, nothing. But he is so busy he is turning work away. He got that busy because his work is exhibited at big shows, he wins awards and the motorcycling press / internet / forums etc promote him.

Other than a phone number, you have to go and visit him.
So, see if you can get cycling websites / mags / forums etc to promote you.

Keep them for when we run out of Gas, you will be glad of their potential to warm the house next winter.

So those of us who grew up in the 70’s / 80’s were scared shitless by the impending war, will those growing up now feel the same about Climate change ?

I reckon avoiding a nuclear war is / has been possible, whereas sadly we wont avoid – haven’t avoided Climate disaster.

Perhaps Putin’s taking of Ukraine may actually help stop us depending on Gas and accelerate other forms of greener heating.

I have one on my road bike (4iii version) I would not bother putting one on my MTB, even if it was free.

Its hard enough sticking to a power zone on a road bike, on a MTB you would have to ride it on the road.

Any measurement will be just full of spikes, there is no way you can hold a steady power in an off road situation. Plus the added chance of the power meter getting broken by mud, dirt and crashing.

Keep the road bike for training, the MTB for fun.

Buying it may be possible, claiming on it or using it to pay for a claim is probably a bigger issue. Id just leave as fast as I could in that event.

I paid 16k for my Transit Custom, had I think 13k miles on it. Very tidy, had some scuffs on the back door resprayed before I bought it, done by the company to make it tidy for me. They sell all sorts of vans, so you can get them to sort you out with pretty much whatever you fancy. Once they know what I wanted the got hold of one that had been used by a florists, so it wasn’t full of cement during its previous like.

They lined up 5 different vans for me to test drive on the day, I tired the all and found the Transit Custom to drive the best.

    https://www.bigvanworld.co.uk is the place.

We do seem to find it difficult to tell people when their beliefs are just plain stupid.
We teach some daft things to our kids.
We are told off for telling people religion is a conspiracy.

Not surprising these things continue to flourish.

Depends on who you work for and what you do for work.

I’ve worked hard for good employers, and slacked off when they were rubbish. I’ve worked hard for free because I believed in what I did, or understood the company had run out of money and was trying to earn enough to pay me next month.

Ethics is a flexible, personal, subjective view point.
