Why worry about mud – were you expected to clean the demo bike after using it ?

They did seem to mislead you………..Id ask for them to ensure your warranty is not void – in writing. Failing this, name and shame and move on.

A couple of runs donw Whites in the rain in winter and you may well wear out a half worn set that would otherwise last months in the summer.

I always carry a set – never bet them in, I just use them – that beds them in.

Just find a big long steep hill. If we hear from you again you managed to both burn off the contamination and bed them in, if not we will know not to try it ourselves.

Not everyone has the intelligence to vote and governments use this to come up with sound bites / catchy slogans to convince the dim witted to vote for them.

Im yet to meet a campainer who convinced me to vote for them, so until that happens I wont vote. I will vote for none of the above if it was an option and if the winning government had to win by a large PR majority.

Even in my life time governments have constantly gone back on promises made in elections, or decided to do something the majority didnt want ie. War in Iraqi, referendums etc etc – this is a reason many are apathetic and dissalusioned.

Sort this out and more would vote, but I really dont think everyone is engaged enough or educated enough to make voting choices that affect all of us.

For example, when you go to your doctor you dont also get the opinion of your local priest / witchdoctor / homeopathy person. You pick the one person best educate to make that importan choice. We should do this with choosing our governments.

Im quite glad car companies are going bust. Is this not the market telling them that most people have a car, its still working and they dont actually need to change it for reasons of fashion. We have dug enough rescources out of the planet already, making more cars than we need and then convincing us to buy new ones is just daft.

Im sorry people have lost jobs, but in the long run we stand to loose more if we keep on making cars no one actually needs that much.

Can you not find cash in hand work ? There must be the odd job you can do ? Fixing bikes ? Running errands ? Have you signed on ?

The BBC had it in full and interviewd the chap on PM just now. Many of these programs are planned early so cant adjust very fast. PM on the other hand is a little more topical.

I think we are now seeing how the internet brings the story to the viewers faster than the polititions spin doctors / lobbyists.

    Isnt it called Webocracy ?

Still, Gordons not going to change his tune, so we are all fcuked.

Mudshark – we constantly have to decide on very important things based upon an asumption on intelligence. For example you see a doctor who has had to train and pass exams and they then decide what medicine is best for you.

Why not for the economy ? Given the wide range of ability and intelligence even a slightly crude measure like passing an exam is better than the low average we would otherwise get.

Whatever you argue I still think most of the population are not intelligent enough to vote for a good government.

If voting was earned by say having a qualification in History, Sociology, Economics, Common Sence, then perhaps we would get better governments. Not everyone is capable of judging who could run the country.

At the moment people vote for very daft reasons or because of sound bites they can understand or rally behind.

I would not bother – you will hurt yourself. There are no downhills, no skidding or bunny hopping and you cant change into granny when it gets hard.

Go out on your bike instead, that will be much more fun.

There is a club that rides there (should be googleable) – your actually meant to be a member to ride round there. Ive ridden there a bit, but never joined the club. Its private forest and you could be asked to show memebership.

They are a freindly bunch and know all the sweet bits. But to be honest, after a few rides you will find loads of them and cant get too lost – its a small area. Its also surprisingly weatherproof.

Brake jack – where the braking causes the rear wheel to stiffen the suspension. The rear brake is attached to the swingarm above the axle so as you brake its doing the opposite of a wheelie. This feels like the suspension has just gotten stiffer.

You will see big DH bikes have thier rear brakes on a seperate arm so this wont happen. On a XC bike Id be surprised if this really matters. Your more likely to be using more front brake to slow hard anyway, and stutter bumps are more likely to be found on DH courses, or badly designed trail centers, where repeated riding causes them. You wont find that out in the countryside.

Ive had two sets – each lasted 2 years with no maint at all. I may try maintaining the current pair as its easy and cheap.

They do give you more float than SPD’s which is a great benefit to some.

There are too many people on the planet – personal safety should be down to your own judgement provided you are educated enough to make a rational decision.

Also, wearing helmets is quite fasionable now – wasnt always the case. That may change over time. Our kids may see us as boring safety freaks wearing helmets all the time.

Please tell everyone what you think of religon. The more people stand up and tell the world what a crock of shite it is the better. We need to move society forward in a rational scientific manner, not one based on 2000 year old superstition.

If the popes advice came from someone not claiming to be religious he would not be listend to, regarded as idiotic and if they carried the weight of authority he does, probably locked up for instigating dangerous life threatening behaviour.

If you can jail people for causing a riot, why not jail the pope for his very danagerous advice.

I find it amazing that someone so out of touch with life in gereral, let along life in Africa, can propse that we dont use condoms.

We really need to educate religion out of the world.

As more people get obese, being fat becomes normal. As more out of town shopping centers are built driving becomes not just normal, but necessary.

Try shopping in America without a car – its not possible unless you live in the mall !

Hopefully though fat and obese people will die of heart attacks thereby solving the overpopulation problem which makes global warming a side issue. This leaves more room for us to ride our bikes – a good result really.

Ive been there several times and took my bike once. Its very very mountainus. I spent three hours in granny to get to the top, then 20 mins comming down hill. Lots of the small roads are dirt roads. There are loads of these tracks around the coast, or from the coast road to deserted beaches. Lots of similar dirt roads in the mountains. But I did not find any single track. The bush is just too thick even to walk through and the hills just too steep. We did go to the top of the mountains just north east from Sarten (village in the south west). Up there it was more of a plateau area where the dirt roads were more challenging and sometimes turned into almost singletrack.

Its very very beautiful, no tourists, great food, great mountain walks, great beaches, great culture. But you will have to find some local knowledge to make it a great biking spot. I have never ever even seen a mountain biker in my 5 or 6 visits there. Im sure there are but just too few to make trails. Im off there in September and will be taking my bike, but will just ride about on the top plateau area again.
