cool sounds good. think i’ll be getting a set

bought it for £3k and spent another 1.9k on conversion. Was completely empty before with a bit of ply in the back and 3 seats in the front. The front seats are out of an MG zr with swivel plates (great addition) also rock and roll bed in the back (cost £625).

Still planning other things for it (split charge system, units, fridge)

was from an retired gas man. 50k on the clock. I bought it with a bare interior and this guy in kent did all out with what you see now (love the swivel seats)

    Cheers for the feedback guys.

TJ> Addressing that this week (reason being we rolled out this new design and still had the old design running in parallel which had the navigation butted to the left)

We’re going to also address the buttons used to scroll to the different images

    Cheers for the feedback.

Breatheasy> It’s better to include JS at the bottom of the page as it allows the page to render faster

“The HTTP/1.1 specification suggests that browsers download no more than two components in parallel per hostname. If you serve your images from multiple hostnames, you can get more than two downloads to occur in parallel. While a script is downloading, however, the browser won’t start any other downloads, even on different hostnames.

“…With scripts, progressive rendering is blocked for all content below the script. Moving scripts as low in the page as possible means there’s more content above the script that is rendered sooner.”

I’ve been to both estepona and cerro macho (nr cordoba) with joy riders and ride sierra nevada nr granada. Both had exceptional riding. This time i’ll be on my own though So either thinking of contacting sierra cycling for a day or 2 or grabbing some maps and doing it by myself

Have searched on the t4 forum and yes it seems with the tolls + fuel it’s going to cost loads more but then it’s not the point of a road trip in a camper. You start the holiday from the front door

Cus it’s a challenge. I’ve done 50k rides before in the lakes and wanted to see if i could do 100k

I’ll do 50k next year and blast it if i’m on my own again

Sheldon – I know.. it’s bad but just don’t know the local area. Only got into mountain biking in the last 5 years. Wish i’d have been into it as a kid and explored.

Hells> I did end up talking to loads of people (plus lots that were lost .. even the marshall!

Next time i’ll be more prepared and know the route + hang out with sheldon for shortcuts ;)

GaryLuke> were you on the 50 or 100k?

Well I HONC’d but i had a bit of a mare of a day. Started the night before, trying to sort my tyres out. Managed to prise my front tubeless nobby nic from the rimstrip after 20 minutes or so (had it on the bike for a year) and p*ssing about trying to inflate a racing ralph at midnight..Gave up and put a chunder 1.90 on the front. Left the rear as it is as i’ve been tubeless/puncture free for well over a year (you can see where i’m going with this)

Decided to do the 100k as it was more of a challenge. The only downside is that i was on my own. Got about 10 miles in and felt the back end all over the place. Stopped and realised i had about 10psi in the rear. Pumped it up and then another few miles it was down again. Got to the top of the climb before the 50/100 split off point and found a hole in the side that wouldn’t seal (****) Decided to patch the tyre from the outside as i wasn’t going to try prising off the damn tyre for 20 minutes. got down the road and followed everyone else to realise the 100k route was left at the road (doh!)

After the food stop it all went to pot. Started following a group (but also looking at the map) then realised I’d been down the same road that morning (****!) Proceeded to tell this old boy on a cross with gps but he just carried on (along with 4 others) Luckily met up with some ppl from west drayton mtb club and we rode together.

Cut a long story short.. we got lost quite a few times. The back marker marshall caught up with us which totally demoralizing and even he ended up taking us the wrong way (and he was with a guy with gps!)

All in all it took us a marathon 8 hours. What was gutting is i still had loads left in the tank at the end. I took it easy as i’d only ever done 54k before.

I really didn’t think how much emphasis was on navigation. Not doing the HONC before I honestly thought a lot of it would be marked (i realise now that’s not the point)

If i did it again, i’d do it in a team. It’s not much fun on your own :(

thanks to Emma, Arman and Rach from west drayton mtb club for the support

ooopss.. i was replying on Mragreeable’s post

Are any of the non-whippets thinking of giving the long route a go?

    trickydisco

Yep.. I’m doing the 100k. God knows why as i’ve only ever ridden a max of 54k before! 8O

I’m not a race whippet by any means. (need to dig out some racing ralphs then)

Thanks for the feedback guys. Keep them coming. I didn’t design the site or come up with any of the content. I’m merely getting some (admittedly cheap:) feedback on [potential] issues with the site.

I know a lot of the issue already but i’m quite involved so felt i needed opinions/feedback from people not involved with the subject matter (i.e knowing the whole structure)

    trickydisco

This is exactly the type of feedback i was expecting. I didn’t design the navigation or come up with how it works. I’m merely trying to gauge how usable/access it is. This type of feedback is useful to get things reworked.

superlight – can be built up to be very light.. climbs very well with no bob and you can put some rev uturns on the front to give > 130 (well the 2008 one’s)

Had mine 2 years now and love it (only ever ridden a FS stumpy in spain for a week to compare) Saying that Steve worland swears by his and he’s tested 1000’s of bikes

Where, 2 laps of cwm carn yesterday

Was the first ride since i’ve had my rp23 Pushed and all i can say is wow what a difference. That rear wheel was planted to the ground.. bike felt quicker

First time i’ve done 2 laps.. 1st one 1hr15 2nd was 57 minutes and I lapped some beginners before the last descent :)

sorry.. should have explained better.. The movement is rotation of the cassette clockwise and anticlockwise (not sideways as the type of movement you would have on a bottom bracket – shit at explaining these things)

    dust cap for the bearing/hub?
