I picked up a 2014 t129s this week from winstanleys.
Swapped a couple of things. Std rear tyre and f&r wheels replaced with a Easton haven and spec purg. At 2:3 size clearance is about 4-5mm on drive side is quite tight.
Not ridden in anger yet as fitting an invisiframe kit over weekend, first impression is a lot of bike for the money ( especially with the year end discount winstanleys offered)

Just built an El Mariachi for a customer, really great frame, lovely build quality and paintwork. Supplied by CTBM and he is confident that he will be able to supply frames going forward.

    Er thanks
Low cost was thinking £100 each mark
I can buy rims and build from existing rims but for speed of turnaround I needed a factory built replacement option.
    I need 650b not 26
I need to buy individual wheels in the future
I don’t think SS do sell a pair individually for half price i.e they charge more
Waiting for a response to email and phone service goes unanswered.

In the real world seems a time lag for component suppliers to catch up

    Used tf tuned recently.

I found them to be excellent. Collection via their courier, timed, confirmed receipt via email, then phone call when works commenced then follow up call for payment despatch. Arrived back better than new with a full engineers report and all the old bits neatly bagged. Prices seem competitive too.

Invisiframe, keep using it, keep recommending it , nothing better and if you have a £1500 frame seems like a small investment to preserve it.
The tailored kits are really well executed.

    Thanks for replies.
Just picked up a 59 plate d5 active and very impressed. Has had new pads discs and shoes for handbrake but not really holding car too well, more adjustment needed I think. The engine management light comes on intermittently and I blew load s of water from the sensor in the engine bay new sensor ordered that should sort that out.
Great cruiser and fun to drive after my T5 van!

Resurrected this thread, any issues with foot operated handbrake or false warnings from engine sensors?
    Thanks

I have a lightly used yt wicked 26″ which might be of interest?
It’s a large and would be within budget.
I’m in Preston if you fancy taking a look?

I want to get into the Lakes more but my twice weekly rides at present are in places like Gisburn and other northern trail centres. I tend to ride solo and max 3-4 hours at present. My thought on the YT with its amzing on paper spec might be too much for those type of rides, the Stumpy seems to be a bit more in keeping with 9/10 rides I’ll do with the potential to step up and get pretty close on those occasions /areas and conditions where the YT might excel?

Rockape I’d say large, at 6ft with average length arms and legs they are a great fit for me. In the North the nearest might be Pedals in Edinburgh, the lads there are really helpful and I am sure would help you out with a demo, but I think they tend to just have medium builds for demo, you’d need to check with them.

Real world decision needs to be made
If you had a choice of this or a new 29 stumpjumper evo spec for same money which would you go for?

30T with 11-40 (Hope T Rex) on my 29 er.

I use the std Deore cranks (2 x 10) which came from Merlin as part of a groupset deal.

My riding is mainly NW Trail centres and some lakes but it is a struggle on really steep climbs with my weedy legs!

Not in my experience, its worth calling in if local. They are good lads in the shop and really helpful.I have bought lots of items from them and find the price/service delivery to be ok too.

Yes we had considered an S-Max, I ran one as a co car a couple of years ago. Really practical and very carlike to drive and although we liked it the Volvo seems to have more appeal for her, she has driven 4WD before so is used to the slightly cumbersome feel. Disco is out, too expensive and too big for our needs I think, friends have owned two and put us off with overall experience of dealers, servicing and warranty fixes.

    Cheers for the comments all.

Mrs will drive it daily for work (18k pa) and we plan to use it for family trips/ camping etc so the 7 seats are bonus with a dog and two teenagers MPG is an issue but she is a very careful driver!(she has a company car-a Golf diesel estate at present and gets 58mpg)

Ben, nice I would re route the rear brake hose so that it passes inside the stay rather than sitting outside it.

Converted a set for a customer last week. Used the Superstar rim tape and valves and the stans fluid. It worked well with the std fit Maxxis High roller 2 that were fitted. This was on the 650B rims.
