Its got a 1 .5 inch headtube so does that mean Ican run either a taperered or straight steerer fork too?

Not technically minded but is it not to do with the steerer angle, I thought the 51mm version would give a more nimble/lighter steering feel. The greater the offset number might recreate the steering feel you get from a 26″ ride.
    Could be wrong though!

    This might help

Cheers, yes the epc score is 39 and is showing need for roof insulation is cavity wall a poss in an old property.
Windows are wood/replacement and have been double glazed. It has a combi boiler and CH fitted so keen to test efficiency of current set up.
Heating bills are C£2k per annum at present.
Chimneys are used for 2 gas fires (coming out) looking at a log burner for 1 room and an open fire in the other (occasional use).

I am curious on sizing at 6ft is the 19″ the right size to be on? I have tried medium and large souls previously and never been totally comfortable on either?

Mine, Haven 29″, have been excellent so far, light overall weight, strong rims and fast very quiet engaging hubs. Tubeless set up is painless, they are UST so just mount tyre on rim, add fluid and pump up and you are ready to go.
Certainly coping well with my 100kg bulk on some quick descents. I read a lot about earlier sets <2012 I think but I understand that bearing life has been improved. That said no experience of obtaining parts if I do have a problem. Bought mine from CRC for a lot less than the equivalent hope/stans combo.

Agree with Somouk. My 129 has been good so far, any issues with ghost gear shifting though on x7/x9 stuff.

    Thansk all.
Its going in a victorian house with high ceilings
Looking at PV panels on roof to offset running cost.
Have a big ol combi boiler already fitted so would use that for hot water and heat in other rooms. In addition would have 2 log burners to heat ground floor and poss radiate heat into a couple of bedrooms…. make sense?

I know they have haters on here but I have a 29″ set and find them really great, tubeless is easy and very light/ strong with none of the hub issues that seem to crop up on here, which seem to date back to pre 2012.

Have you seen the ohlins shock, I think it is compatable with the enduro frame supposedly the “ultimate shock “

We use Gorsebank at Dalbeattie, they have 2 great bothies which sleep 6/10 people so plenty of space, nicely finished and 200 metres from the trails in the forest.

New frame is big cost.£50 seems cheap to protect your pride and joy. They also do a number of different generic kits for hardtails as well as sheets of film.

Invisiframe kits are brilliant and easy to apply if you take your time.
I have tried many types of tape and this stuff just works .

I have tried a couple of options on my 2014 129s the std wheel and WTB tyre combo is ok, I swapped to a set of Easton Havens which are have a wider rim,+5mm I think, and tried a couple of tyres, a Specialized Purgatory 2-3 is very tight with about 5mm clearance running tubeless, I am currently running a 2.25 Nobby Nic which is narrower, I am finding it better, it rolls fast and seems grippy on my local trails in N Lancs.

No paypal can’t take the money from your bank account but they can debit the pp account leaving you with a negative balance. Then you have their debt collection people chasing you within a few days, I had a bad experience with pp whilst selling and would not sell using pp again.

I have a Whyte 129s and tried a spec purg 2.3 recently and that is a good volume and fairly fast rolling tyre. I also have tried the Nobby Nic 2.25 which runs tubeless, decent volume, running at 23psi and offers better clearance.
