I have one and would echo Northwinds comments. If you get hot and sweaty its not for you IME. Waterproofing has been a little hit and miss the shoulders and upper arms seam has been letting the gentle northern rain in! If you are paying full price I’d shop around for an alternative.

Excellent staff face to face and their stuff off webstore is also first class. I’ve travelled over 70 miles to deal with them.

parceltogodotcom seem very competitive on pricing, they offer a number of different providers. I’m sending a bike in box down south on a two/three day delivery with home collection for less than a tenner with Yodel (Ex DHL). Seems good value on the face of it.

I think this tool is for the plastic cap that covers the bearings.I did not use a tool referring to Bigyinns advice above I just tightened it finger tight, no issues so far.

    Had a 2010 2.0TDI 140 Titanium. Covered 20k miles in 5 months.
Superb motorway cruiser. Plenty of torque and good overall economy. 42-45 mpg in real world driving.
Impressive level of kit and bluetooth Sony audio system very worthwhile for my use. I came from a BMW 1 series and with a growing family loved the convenience of huge boot (only used 7 seats 3 times) so could throw all family clobber in. Regularly took 3 mountain bikes stood up with wheels on.Parking sensors are a little over sensitive but effective. Tinted glass is very dark and stops prying eyes, closer you get the darker it seems? No spare not an issue with the repair kit provided. BMW runflats were sh** by the way.Stranded on M6 on 3 occcassions awaiting recovery as the tyres imploded after punctures.

Small negative are the reflections on the dash through the enormous screen, mine had the quick clear option at the front which was superb but you can get an annoying view of the wires running through the glass in bright conditions.

Overall I’d rate it the best family car I’ve owned. My Passat TDI 140 was poor by comparison with lots of issues around electrics and a terrible electric handbrake.

    Update.
Thanks for all the advice in earlier posts. As a newbie to swapping bits and pieces I find this forum invaluable with suggestions.

Merlin very helpful and confirmed it was correct BB.

    1. Lots of thread lock compound which was fouling.
    2. Existing BB was slightly cross threaded by previous owner of frame.
    3. LBS very helpful and suggested that with a gentle amount of encouragement new BB would thread up and now turns beautifully.
    4. New cranks fitted and with 1 drive side spacer the gear changing is sweet.
First upgrade that I have fitted and instantly feel the difference.

thanks for the tip on grease, the threads seem really tight on the first few turns then seem to stop turning altogether, don’t want to overtighten and damage threads on bb or in frame.
Crankset is from Merlin so will call them in am.

    Thanks for the feedback.

It was my first build with all new parts sourced from many on line retailers and I was aiming to build up a simple reliable XC bike. Parts choice was conservative and to a realistic budget. I am selling because i have recently lost my job and I have a full sus bike which i love and want to keep hold of for as long as possible.

I will add more detail on frame and other components age. New is brand new by the way.

How do I post pics within the ad?

Constructive comments in the main. Not sure if i’ve offended anyone on here and not sure what a fair selection of tat means!

    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies.
But what I am keen to understand better is the theory about the steerer length.
Is it about Bike frame size? type of riding? riders height?
I have a frame but no fork and need to determine how I should choose the right fork to fit?
Hope this makes sense sorry for basic terminology here.

You could try Gorsebank. Its log cabins and timber tents. Great access to forest near Dalbeattie (5 mins) and run by a really nice couple Paul & Kiersten.
