Evening guys . The relevance was i’m white my wife is a foreign lady who wishes to live with her husband but as she is not European had to pay £6000 pounds to do so ? My government did not welcome my wife and we jumped through hoops (and still do) .It is a horrible affair this immigration.I had the same views as most about illegal immigrants until i fell in love with a girl from far away and she was treated as second class and treat as though she was not worthy to be here . I am also sorry my grammer was not up to the usual standards of STW but i am only a Chef ?;)

My wife HAD to take the test ,she failed the test 3 times and was 2 weeks away from having her visa expire and face deportation from the UK. This put tremendous strain on both of us ,our work and friends and family.We found a not too legal loop hole and got indefinite leave to remain .The Life in the UK test is really ,really irrelevant and difficult.i took the mock test 7 times and failed 7 times. Example – what or who is Hansard? now no cheating . I agree that immigration needs to be in check , but what if whilst travelling on a year out you fall in love and wish to live you life with your loved one in YOUR home country but the government makes it very hard ?? Its very complicated this subject and there are so many different situations .I found a white man working for 25 years has to pay over £6000 pound to live with his Asian wife in HIS own country .I had correspondence from the House of commons , but they are no help. It was a nightmare – All good now as we got Indefinite leave to remain and next year we are going to spend our savings living in the wife’s country as they welcome me and actually place hard working foreign nationals in high esteem ,not as a problem !

I just converted 6 rides ago to spd. It’s easier than you think and really just hype. Prepare to fall over clipped in. I fell right outside work returning from a 20 mile ride with the wife behind pissing herself laughing. Buy your shoes from a shop not online as you will get a proper fit and support your LBS i bought online as i had £100 vouchers to use, my shoes pinched for 1st 3 rides (also my bike was getting built up in LBS already to offset the guilt)happy riding just prepare to clip out earlier than needed to get used to it ??

Having lived On the white isle ,stay away from early morning 6am rides to avoid the sun as that is when the workers,clubbers and party people will be returning home ,or moving between parties, as well as the taxis finishing an 14 hour shift. Great riding IMO. I had left cycling long behind when i moved there.

I did a triathlon in Oban last year (off road). The swim was open water so was choppy and had current so open water swims are key(i’m a kite surfer so open water swim often to self rescue) practice open water swims. Practice cycle to run ,as the bike was fantastic i made 14 places up and when i started to run ,really bad calf cramps and back ache(only 2 runs training) i loved it really felt i accomplished something. Good luck ,train ,train,train ?

Pure madness to take kids on home baked. i have ridden for 28 years and Home baked stumped me(when i was leading a beginner ? ) so much so she wanted to push each Gnarly section . Gisburn is too hardcore for beginners. take a canal route ? Not big not clever and not troll .

For me its all about the Technics 1210 mk2’s for me ,can scratch, back spin, finger tap and the BASS is awesome .I have them on a Canadian maple 4″ thick workbench (think woodwork class) if i crank it up the neighbors think the Taliban is coming?

I live on the beach in East sussex about 3 meters above sea level? so i would get on ape tube and crack a few off the wrist.

I have been there, and it gets messy.Need paper work otherwise its a verbal contract gone sour ,back to original contract to end august. 3 months work on a self employed status offers no rights -find a new job learn and put it down to experience. The Gardener did not want the hassle of staff and rights and paperwork(and why would he)so he went for self employed ? any work is surley good work .Think of the new skills the nephew learnt and go from there ?

Go for it -I moved from Yorkshire to London to train as a chef under Marco Pierre white and Gordon Ramsey.Then i travelled the world as Executive chef for Red bull formula 1 team for 3 years,then i moved to Derry, Northern Ireland for 3 years before moving to East Sussex and a house on the beach. Next year i am moving to Thailand (just building a house there now)Everytime i moved i was nervous, but met new people and discovered new things and different lifestyles.1 thing i would say is you need to be financially ok as moving and a new life style hits the wallet hard. It was kite surfing that made me move to Ireland, as there were big waves and beaches to take every wind direction ,i moved to Sussex for the flat water at Camber ,then i got back into MTB and unfortunately i live on a 40 square mile marsh with no hills -guess you can’t always have it all ha ha -do it and good luck .

I used to clean the bogs at “The blue rose ” in Ibiza town ,no aircon in the lavs, that dirty TV, Patrick used to spray all over the joint. Staff party’s were ace though if not sticky -god i miss it ? beats cooking?lol now i cook burgers on Camber beach .

I’ve got to agree about ATB comments. That’s how it all started. for me i ride off road every week, sometimes on forest roads, sometimes on man made trails , sometimes on natural trails and a couple of times a year i go to real mountains. That is not the point , a real mountain bike is a bike that does all this, then does all this again without falling apart and most important PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE?

Very nice bike indeed,i love it . Have fun i ride my retro ’97 Beast of the east now and again and it rides fantastic doesn’t slow down too good but still cracking – enjoy the sun .

I’m 2 rides in on a BFe , built up 10 days ago ,its a very stiff frame ,I’m only running 100mm at the front.I’m 17 stone and we just plough through rocky down hills .I felt out of my depth yesterday on 1 DH but the bike just rode through,very confidence inspiring?

Rat race the crossing , any body got ideas of numbers who did it .I fancied it but looked expensive ?
