Thailand, on a fold up shopper with a worn out crank arm and no front brake being chased by crazy dogs whilst dreaming of my cannondales. I do it every year when i visit the inlaws ,they never repair the bikes and i love riding them .If i took the Dales i would miss the realness of it. But saying that ,next time i wanna hit a mountains and the trails ,but seriously on a fold up shopper copy ,i love the land of smiles

I just had my first ride on my Crank Brothers Iodine 11,its comfy, flexy and looks the nuts on a black and gold bike. The last bit aint important? I was worried about Crank Brothers after all the negatives on many forums but then read Singletracks review of the cheaper Iodine 3 and was relieved as i had already ordered the 11 . Anyway nice saddle but there are one or two others out there to choose from, have fun trying them out, as im sure a LBS will let you trial a few designs?

I’m biased but ive got an Trail SL4 and a ’97 Beast of the East ,i love the brand ,the RST forks are fine ,for XC? the brakes awesome ive boiled them but then who hasn’t .Im 5’9″ and 110k and the bike can handle me ,a lot was said when cannondale joined the corparation and (sold out ) but the brand is still trading ,admitetdly with a diffferent ethos ,my 97 is a lot lighter than my 2012 sl4 ,but then a lot of high end bikes from the mid 90’s are ,i reckon if you spend a few weeks going to cycle shops and playing dumb ,playing one model aginst the other and the same with brands ,ask the shop staff what they would buy and why ,also why is x better than y and your knowledge will be fantastic, so you get an informed opinion of a lot of cyclists ,then reasearch on the net you will get an amazing bike for your money (ive even raced my 2012 sl4 for 8 hours )good luck and spend wisely, i love da dale i even named mine?

Go for a second ride, ride that berm higher ,land that jump straighter ,miss that rock ,jump those roots ,take the hill in a higher gear or tap out a faster climb ,but most important enjoy the post session cake /beer and plan the next onslaught “you need to ride harder my friend “or change to a more responsive bike ?
