I too am carrying timber? i generally do 10 to 20 once a week off road and 20 miles road(on mtb) if i get chance. the more i do the better i feel . If i have a big ride coming up i go for a 4 hour but i take a picnic. I have no clue on fueling for a ride ? I work 70 plus hours a week so struggle to get the rides in ? i wish i could work less but the salary is great and i get plenty of Pr and newspaper /magazine articles for my field of work so i do it ?? ilove my job but having more time would be mega??

South downs Epic, well standard route for me, great weather great route. I completed it on a 1997 Cannondale “beast of the east” with rim brakes. The descents were interesting and the road cassette made the climbs a chore but the bike behaved perfectly .

Start at Brighton(Devils dyke) and ride to Eastbourne and back ,this will take in the final huge climbs figure 6 plus hours there and back .some cracking climbs and descents on this stage .Great up there at the moment really dry and fast.

Sorry the BFe is not a jump frame its a hardcore hardtail that can take abuse and jump- (you will never break this frame )i was told ? i think they are right ,im running 100mm forks and i never get more than 10″ off the ground -but its nice to know i can .

I thought i was a trail god until today when i think i was followed-I always took it as someone who was both not very good at it and only did it at the weekends but thought they were fantastic at it.

“I nailed every berm at Llandelga this weekend at record pace!”

i.e., he rode round like an old lady round the black run in 4 hours and was indeed faster than he’d ever been before.

I have just gone from a Cannondale sl4 to a Cotic BFe ,swopped over all the parts, most were upgraded any way so on Friday i pick up a killer hardtail that will love abuse? very very stiff frame -its basically a jump frame (i am 120kilo)if you are 80k+/- get a soul but for knackers like me BFe

Great course today ,fantastic in the dry – i took the Standard route as i did not train and felt the heat – managed just under 5 hours? SDW is brutal on the climbs ? Very friendly cyclist today ? Fontwell is a great start point .

E-mail Cy at Cotic and he will answer your emails personally. I ordered a BFe on Wednesday and then changed the colour and size 30 mins later by email, he changed the order sent back an email personally and i had my frame 1pm on Friday. The guy “makes shit happen” and loves bikes as much as we do he will answer all those questions and more .

Webber had terrible luck with his cars from 05/6/ till now, many DNF and he is a genuinely competitive guy ,but also a nice guy – shame he is going but he has had a hell of a run .

I would look at a Ford Ranger or Hilux 03 to 05. We have a ’86 L200 mitsu a fore runner to the animal on 280,000km .an 2001 Izuzu on 138,000km and a Hilux 2009 40,000km the mitsu and Izuzu are work horses , i fancy a Ranger (cheap) i never have hankered for fords except the spicy American ones and all there pick ups (not cars)i used to drive a 03 Hilux and it was very quick scary when empty .Younger Hilux are very pricy shame as they are very car like and lovely to drive .
