I have 3 different ebike motors, the x35 is low weight ( 5 to 8kg lower bike weight ) Very low noise and a seemless transition over 15mph , usually come with a poor combined button / display .Around half (or less ) power than a Bosch.
Fazua is a good half way house.

That boardman would be worth an offer, I’ve put 38mm G-one’s on the wifes.

the Boardman is a lot longer T.T. so you’d be better with a small.
It is a nicer road bike though.

either would be okay. Boardman was off ebay.

Sorry the carrera went on ebay last moth for £800 , got the boardman for £1500
The Carrera is in stock at Halforde £1100 btw the small is tiny..14″ seattube leaves no space for a water bottle.

I have some experiance of this… got a carrera for my wife a year ago, the rigid fork one with proper hydro brakes and 9sp BRILLIANT for the money but 20.5kg
Just got her a Boardman..a bit better and only 16kg, both bikes do come up second hand.
The Carrera had the best offroad tyres.

I’ve done it, nothing to add to previous comments. But I notice you’re staying in Aberdovey, that’s a good 20 min drive to the start, there’s riding direct from Aberdovey up onto panoramic view, and a possible link to the bridal way from happy valley over the top to bryncrug.

Nice reviews op,.It was my first demo day and I booked very late, the only bikes left in my size (large ) were a mega 275 -nice, and the new suspension showed up my 3 year old stuff, but it had xt 11 speed and I really wanted to try sram.
Next up was a canondale e bike, never riden one before – very impressed -but I don’t think I’d buy one before the motor is lighter and less powerful. ( and cheaper )
Must book early next year, Thanks to Wheelbase for organising.

Agree tpbiker, those wheels are around 1800gr depending on spokes, the rims are 420gr.

I have an almost identical spec trance to you. The lightest I’ve had it was 27.8 pounds. That was with xtr crankset, light specialized tyres, (tubeless ) and a reverb .On the same scales a carbon nomad with carbon wheels was 1.5 pounds heavier.
I now run heavier tyres and an slx chainset.

Pauls cycle’s have 2016 anthem sx for 1600 that includes a dropper seat post. That’s if a small is small enough.

Cheap option is try some fome grips, bontrager from crc are about £8 they’re brilliant. I also have cheap carbon bars which are great, but grips first.

I did t7 and t8 about 5 years ago. Similarly to you wasn’t diagnosed for a couple of months. But didn’t have much pain after a couple of weeks so was able to work keep mobile and ride after a month or so. Long term problems have been stooping and a slight numbness in the muscles that support the area. Bike riding not really a problem.

Thanks for your help trail rat, and the links were very informative.
I think I’ll try a triple ( got a few bikes I could borrow from ) and see how the original shifter copes.

Shimano groupset, probably 9 speed tiagra.

I had exactly the same issues, but as it was under warranty l took it back to the shop hoping they would put a new shifter on, (I hate the stiff feel of the 11 speed shifters ) but they fixed it. While I was waiting I tryed all the bikes with XT m800 and all but 1 were stiff.I Much prefer the feel of shimano 10 speed.

I’ve done plenty of climbing in the area and often wondered about trails. The only places that might have further information could be the bike shop in calpe, or Rich at the orange house climbing centre.

Know a few people who used to put 200 mm dual crown forks on for alps trips, no problems.

Just been on holiday to Vancouver and went to whistler for a day, didn’t ride but looked at trail map- extensive and well labelled -I would say no need for a guide, especially if you’re familiar with somewhere like morzine . Loads of places to hire bikes, lots of Giant reigns. Probably end up costing towards 200 dollars. Enjoy!

Not sure about the Anthem but the new Trances have a 200×50 shock on, however there is 57mm of shaft so you’ll never get the o-ring more than 7mm off the end.Let all the air out of your shock and see if it’s similar on an Anthem.

1 and 2 (fox forks ) are overdrive 2, the 3 and 4 are normal.

I got a trance 3 a few weeks ago ( 2014 ) couldn’t get the standard plastic nobby nics to go up tubeless so I got some s.s.tactic wheels and purgatory front, ground control rear. This saved a ton of weight. Also converted to 1×10. Standard rock shox suspension is pretty good. Just under 30lb with dropper post. Anyone want to buy a nukeproof mega?

I failed to convert the trance 3 rims with the standard nobby nic tyres.

I believe this is a known problem on some 2013 bikes. slight change on 2014 . I think there’s a thread on it.
