Id question the riding over mini RAB ‘tip’ In my experience any cars from the right will start to move off as you are half way round, so if you cut the corner will be a lot closer to them.

Even the highway code frowns on it

Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Avoid making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this.

Alone as in single or just without having a bit get together?

Me and the OH lock ourselves away on Xmas day, we both have separated parents so spend all of Boxing day trawling around visiting each one in turn so as not to put noses out of joint. Drives me bonkers.

Ive got the first one and its pretty good. Im a total guitar newbie so found it helpful for getting used to proper fretting and playing the correct string. Not sure how useful it is once you can play properly but I see it as a halfway house between watching videos and being taught by a person.
Get the first one second hand, see if you like it, if not you can resell for what you paid.

SanDisk have always been pretty reliable for me, got one of their 32GB USB 3.0 sticks and its fast and no frills.

    Hi stayhigh! 🙂

Ive been attempting to learn for a year or so, not got very far. I would say the biggest issue you will have is time. I really struggle to find the time to sit down and practice everyday. Justinguitar is a great place to find stuff to learn, Rocksmith not so much. Although its great for practising shapes and slides etc. Also helps you not stare at the fret board permanently. You are more than welcome to borrow my Variax while you find something you like/want as its just sitting collecting dust at the moment!

How will they hand out fines if they dont know your name? Its not like they can take your reg number like a car?

This strikes me as a very easy way to look busy and to blame the cyclist again. I agree that many dont have suitable lights etc but when you have proper lights, reflectors arent going to make much difference. How about targeting all the idiots who drive around with fogs and sidelights on blinding everyone, or worse, just sidelights in the pitch black.

People being happy in videos that they’ve pulled stuff. No idea why you don’t see that as much nowadays but I love it!

I agree, I think most videos are now so polished they are more like full on production films than what they are which is a compilation of short clips.

Just unreal. Riding skills way beyond anything I could dream of, just shows how tough these fragile carbon roadies are too…

Such a shame to think this could well be the last footage of Ashton doing what he does best, I sincerely hope it isn’t.

Highclimber – I had this the other day with another delivery company. Courier delivered while I was at work, the Missus was in and was expecting the parcel. She was washing up and saw them arrive and head straight for next door, she waited, nothing, so opened the door and called them over. They said they didnt even attempt to deliver as there was no car, and she said she doesnt have a car and I had taken mine to work. They then asked us why we bothered having a driveway. Er, whats it to you. Also it took two men to deliver a parcel about half the size of a microwave.

All of my Yodel deliveries have ended launched over my fence into the back garden, including some clothes that were in a very ripped plastic delivery bag that proceeded to get soaked for two days as no card was left and another that contained four coffee cups. Luckily three were intact but the fourth was destroyed. Yodel responded to my complaint to tell me I dont have a suitable location to leave parcels in. Despite having a meter cupboard and a large storage cupboard under this. I got no response when I asked why they simply didnt ring the bell.

On certain packages yes it is, downloaded all of the wire to watch again although its a right PITA to have to select each individual episode to download, why dont they have a download all or download season button!

From memory some bits aren’t replaceable as they are stitched or bonded on but lots of things can be. Worth an ask and saves you ~£100 for other stuff. The ratchet is quite vulnerable to wear so generally is available a spare.

Can you not just get a replacement strap? Ive already replaced the actual ratchet on my BG Pro MTB shoes (and the other needs doing now too)

Really like that, cant knock it for free. Not had a chance to read the articles but it looks nice, not a busy/fussy look. Will try it on the iPad later, see how it comes out.

Im pretty sure that Sainsbury’s in Gloucester have a roller type system at the carpark entrance that uses the force of cars driving in and out to spin the rollers round to produce some electricity boost, seems like a good, simple idea.

EDIT – Kinetic plates and it rocks rather than spins

This guy (or someone very similar) does the voice over to the CBT videos at work. At least you have a choice to watch this!

We dont get a Christmas bonus (other than payday being moved to before Christmas itself) but we do get a bonus in April and inflation payrise. Along with healthcare and final salary pension its a tough act to follow when Im job hunting.

Get yourself onto Sketchymtb.co.uk loads of people based in the Sevenoaks/West Malling area for riding. Relatively regular Oldbury and Mereworth rides as well as some further afield in Bluebell Hill/Lordswood direction. Im in Swanley and tend to ride Oldbury for natural stuff or make the journey to Bedgebury for ‘trail centre’ style riding. South Downs isnt a million miles away either and makes for a nice day out.

OT – Where in Five Oak Green are you Winston_dog? The OH’s mum lives there and Ive often wondered about the MTB’ing around the fields and Scripps Farmland.

Another vote for the PCX. The OH has one and it used to do her a 30 mile round trip commute without breaking sweat, 100mpg and could easily motor along at 65 for dual carriageways etc. Nice size as well so people tended to give it room rather than squeezing it like a bike. CBT well worth it to teach/remind you of road positioning and things like that.

How long before a disability group say this is discriminatory? I think its awesome. Cant see it working in the UK though, too many people/queues and people would just walk between the execisee and the machine.

My OH had almost exactly those thoughts when we watched it last night. We wondered if maybe she had experienced heart issues earlier in her life or at birth which may also explain her agitation of being in hospital (aside from a big whack on the head)

Always had superb flights with Virgin, good food last time on my way to and from New York. Sorted me right out when we got stuck out there due to Heathrow snow, lovely hotel with meals paid for etc. Would fly with them again in a heartbeat.

In my long experience with dodgy neighbours parking, not a lot. The police arent interested unless its nicked or involved in something, the DVLA wont touch it unless the tax is out of date, and even then arent that bothered and the council wont touch it as its not their land/problem. Your best hope is to make it block a road or cause and obstruction and the police should come and recover it.

I have a 2L diesel with DPF and it used to give me some issues but after the second failed regen I started throwing in Shell Vpower diesel and its much better behaved. Tried various additives, did nothing. It does a 6 mile journey twice a day through varying traffic and handles it fine but often gets a decent run at the weekend so that probably helps.
