Would be worth doing to back up the experience you have.

    This.

Worthless(ish) on its own, just means you can read and retain information, but something to show that you do actually know what you claim on your CV, definitely worth something. Also if you are applying within the same company it will show willingness and dedication to the job that you are intending on applying for. Not that you are just dipping your toe in to see.

Pay off my last outstanding credit card and become debt free for the first time in about 7 years, then spend the spare money doing the DIY thats needed so I can sell up and upgrade to something larger than a shoebox!

Another vote for the PCX, my missus has one, gets abused and still runs like new. Had a few trips down the road on its side too and still holding up fine. 100mpg, 60+mph, perfect commuter wagon. Got my eye on it as soon as she passes her driving test.

Not a fan of jaffa cakes though

Got two yards of Smarties too if you prefer! Not sure if my family want me to be fat or generous.

Cant see how data tag justify the extra cost.

Ok fair point, but Ive heard of Data Tag, plus they do car and motorcycle stuff but Ive never heard of Immobilise. So if I had to guess, you are paying for the name/brand. Still, its pennies whichever you go for and my point about recovery still stands. If I were you Id invest in a good lock instead, prevent it getting nicked in the first place.

can never say no to Jaffa cakes.

I may have to learn, I got given two ‘yards’ of Jaffa cakes this year. 😕

£22 is too much to protect your carbon roadie? Really? I imagine the chain costs more. Datatags are £18 at Halfords at the moment.

I had a datatag on an old Marin but never had the need to use it. Went down the seat tube so quite out of the way and obviously invisible.

The only real problem with them is that they rely on your getting the bike back in the first place and then its more a way of proving its yours. In my experience, the bike is rarely recovered thus rendering the tag useless.

Me. Alone today after my colleague decided that ‘risking’ the Dartford bridge two days in a row would be too much. 🙄

Ive got a RoadID wrist band, covers all the main info including next of kin contact info. Much more comfy than a necklace…

What cheesy said. You can easily ‘hide’ a shed in a garden, much softer lines etc, and it weathers in after a while. Ive also liked how customisable it is, if you want to put a shelf up you just screw it on and job done in 5 minutes. Plus it depends what its for, bikes, probably metal is best. Garden tools, wood is just fine.

Ive got a Prevail which is a fantastic fit. In other lids Ive had to have the biggest ones with pretty loose straps but this is only a large and the rear ratchet is done up about halfway too.

The future. All AA men will need to carry is a huge bag of Lego in the back of their van and the kids can help fix the car.

Looking at doing this at the Cyclopark next year, went to watch a few and it was pretty close racing from what I could see so should be fun. Nice wide circuit too so plenty of room for the bunch. Bit nervous as generally only hear about huge bunch crashes which I could do without, mainly from the replacing expensive kit angle, bones heal and chicks dig scars etc etc

Can you not just stop the dog from being near the letter box for a few mornings and see if its still the same? Or put one of those cage thingys on the door.

I’m not entirely sure I know what the difference is.

I would imagine speeding is as it sounds, breaking the speed limit and travelling too fast for the conditions would be still doing 70mph in dense fog or in the pelting rain. Not illegal but stupid all the same.

Glan Aber hotel. We normally decsend en mass and they deal with it well. Bunkhouse for those on a budget, decent showers all round, drying room etc. Bit short on parking but plenty of room in the basement for bikes and a reasonable bar too.

If you get a huge turkey, will you use it? Most people I know buy an enormous bird, eat less than half then lob it away. Days worth of curry/sandwiches/casseroles and soups still left in it.

We usually just get a beef joint, much less hassle, easier to carve and eat and takes very little room in the fridge.

I think Id call up and just take the speed awareness course. Saves a lot of hassle and potentially invalid car insurance.

On that link they mention “Mechanical heat-recovery ventilation” that sounds like a solution to the ventilation/condensation problem. Do you know what it involves?

Not sure, tbh it was just something that caught my eye a few days ago and when you asked it sounded about the same kind of thing. The only mention of it is under the design/tech section and says – Ventair heat recovery ventilator

    What about this?

Bit bigger than you planned but probably a nice size office. I expect you could no bother with the fittings and just have one large room.

In my experience when they have run out of ink its cheaper just to buy an entire new printer complete with ink than to replace the cartridge. That said I just use the ones at work now, saves me cluttering up space with a huge useless box.
It amazes me that technology has moved on so far, yet printers are still largely the same as they were 10 years ago.

Looking at clubbers post, I’d be suing their sorry asses.

    Even though nitrogen is prohibited?

Im not saying its right but thems the rules now. Were you questioned when posting it as to what it was? If they told you yeah no worries then Id be pretty angry.

Did you send it pressurised? I suspect they wont take too kindly to that if you did. A quick look suggests that no gases can be posted. I imagine you fell foul of number 3.

    Gases
Gases that are compressed, liquefied or dissolved under pressure, permanent gases which cannot be liquefied at ambient temperatures, liquefied gases which become liquid under pressure at ambient temperatures, dissolved gases which are dissolved under pressure in a solvent.
    1. All flammable compressed gases are prohibited e.g. blowlamps; butane; lighters and refills containing flammable liquid or gas; ethane; gas cylinders for camping stoves; hydrogen; methane and propane.
    2. All toxic compressed gases are prohibited e.g. chlorine; fluorine etc.
    3. All non-flammable compressed gases are prohibited e.g. air bags; scuba tanks, carbon dioxide; fire extinguishers; neon and nitrogen.

No but then I manage to do both without them crossing paths. I understand that I will never make a living (or probably any money) by cycling so there has to be a balance. Seems to be working as Ive had a payrise and bonus every year for the last 6 years and got faster at the same time.

Bit OT but Ive been looking at these too and decided SS with arm warmers is the way to go. However, monkfish you say size up, is this for length or, ahem, girth? Im pretty skinny but tall with it and often find jerseys ride up yet fit me everywhere else. I dont want to end up with a baggy top!

If it helps Im 6’2 and about 75kg/30-32″ waist

Sending by text is pretty bad form, no proof of delivery, no idea if you ever got it, probably the only thing less reliable than email! Im pretty sure you changed your number just before they sent that right?

Only used one which was a Synology DS214, found it pretty good but might be a bit OTT for what you want. Lots of features including remote viewing and streaming etc.

Mine is terrible running in the shed, but I`m sure that’s the floor acting as a huge soundboard

I have exactly this issue, reverberates like mad, Im sure the whole road can hear it. In fairness I have my earphones on quite loud so tend not to notice, and as above, its a secondary noise to my rasping as Im breathing out my arse.

In summary, they are loud in varying degrees.

I reckon they will go with wear and tear on that, especially as the stitching looks intact and hasn’t failed. If you wont miss them for a few weeks you could send them off on the off chance but I don’t think id bother personally.

(website says it’s 3 miles from train station linking to London Victoria)

Probably Swanley. This was the main station for the paralympic games, I believe there is a reasonable bus service from there to West Kingsdown (the town Brands is in) but dont quote me. Will be a cheap cab ride up there anyway.

Very interesting program about NK the other day, filmed on secret cameras by a Chinese smuggler who distributes mainstream movies, wind up radios and laptops to people to try and educate them about the outside world. The lengths people go to to try and get out of the country is astonishing all whilst running the risk of 1 out of every 3 people you know being poised to grass you up to the police about your incorrect thoughts. There does seem to be a slow movement towards an air of distrust of Kim Jong-Un, lots of higher echelon folk questioning his abilities due to his lack of experience. Judging by his Uncle’s demise it seems he is dealing with this problem though.

Id be interested in this too. Im very much an XC rider but with the inevitable trail centre visits and these tending to lean towards trail riding than XC it would be good to be able to hit stuff and get some enjoyment out of the effort that went in.

FWIW I did a Jedi visit, found it very informative and my riding came on a lot, but jumping I still feel out of my depth. He works in a very controlled environment and maybe the biggest issue Ive had is getting speed right for jumps. I hit his double no problem with the building up method he used, but on the trails when faced with one Ive no idea if Im going to come up short (most likely), overshoot (maybe) or get it spot on (very unlikely)

For the auto tolls is there not some on the right hand side for foreign lorries etc? If not just sit there with your hand on the horn until someones comes to see whats wrong, then shout and point as you would in any good restaurant until they do it for you.
