It got warranty replaced by Scott so Im presuming it was more than cracked paint. Where are you Jeff? Dont really want to post it tbh.

Id always stop to help if I could, but sometimes too many cooks etc. Rode past a guy laying in the road at a roundabout last weekend, clearly been in some kind of altercation with a car and had half a dozen other riders with him. Just a quick check that all was well and they had what they needed (phone/blanket etc) and carried on. Sobering moment though.

It often seems that people don’t want to be the first to get involved, once one person gets stuck in, then others will do.

Read an article that says the release shot is taken without the final nose design, so it could look somewhat different yet.

Ive got an 80K, 2008 2.0 170 in my Leon and its still going strong. No DPF issues as long as you drive it as intended, ie not only 4 miles to the shops all the time. Mine gets a good mix of commuting in slow traffic in town and the odd country lane/motorway blast and its still going as well as it did 20K ago. Injectors were recalled but so far are fine, local garage advised me not to get them changed unless they needed it so Ive not. For £5K its a lot of good car, Id happily have another.

The footway has not been dropped, the road has been raised by the mains of a speed bump

I suspect by the newer looking kerbs that it used to be dropped and the bump was installed after the crossing and the crossing retained. Also the bricks on the top making a ‘path’ from one side of the bump to the other. Otherwise it would just all be tarmac.

Does the ticket not have a reason for issue?

What tenfoot said. Ive got one lined up for later this week, first one is with the prospective line manager and then the second will be with his manager as well. First one technical, what you can do, what you can bring, second generally more about personality, will yo fit in, will people like you kind of thing.

Had numerous pairs of Spesh shoes, including the 2013 s-works road shoe and they are so comfy its like wearing slippers (albeit with a rigid sole) Cant recommend them to people enough. Also got a 2010 BG Pro MTB pair that are still going strong, taking an absolute battering and still as comfy as the day I bought them.

Rollers are great for form and spinning the legs and warm ups but a turbo will really give you the chance to bury yourself without having to really pay attention to not falling off. I doubt either will do amazing things for core although the turbo may do more. Proper core strength exercises like planks and squats will be far more effective.

It will be fine, had my TDI Leon through a large ‘puddle’ the other day. When it washed up over the bonnet I got scared but managed to get it out the otherside and its been fine since.

That was excellent! Strangely engaging. Very clever how he managed to not get any shadows in the shots too, especially when at the band saw and the pieces were moving around in all directions.

Do yours too, if its half as good as that it will be worth a watch, plus its interesting to see the work that goes into things like that, that on the surface look relatively simple.

No doubt someone will be along to correct me on the bandsaw not being a bandsaw shortly!

Funny that one isn’t it, my car had its 4th MOT yesterday at the same garage and passed fine but its the first time they have put 2 advisory’s on the paperwork about undertray & engine cover, both OEM with the car.

Makes a bit of a mockery of the whole thing really.I get one every time, without fail. Essentially they cant see the first 50% of the exhaust so it could be rusting away nicely and be none the wiser. Does that mean that if you have steel wheels and filled in wheel covers the brakes cant be seen then they cant check the pad wear?

I suspect that a modern diesel, even after having a DPF removed, is a lot cleaner than most 10+ year old diesels that I see chugging around with clouds of smoke around them. Oh and the portable diesel generator that turned Dartford into a foggy mess this morning.

Wonder if that means Ill stop getting an advisory for having a plastic under tray every year as they will have to remove it to look.

The documents linked from that page aren’t clear on whether you will fail if its just missing or fail if they test the exhaust and it has particulates in it that should be trapped by the DPF. Maybe Ill hold off removing mine a little longer!

Always toyed with the idea of this but my experience of contact lenses has been excellent so always stopped me from going further. Perhaps now Im in my 30’s its time to think about it more heavily. The idea of just waking up and getting on with things sounds great, especially when doing 24hr races/camping etc.

O2 are truly rubbish. Cant fault the coverage but customer service is awful. Go to town on Twitter and if you are lucky you will get a refund.

Purely based on the fact that I have only used Sufferfest ones, Sufferfest. They are well put together, a little tongue in cheek and will reduce you to tears! Combined with TrainerRoad its a fantastic combination.

Bit OT, but Im also considering engineered flooring for my thru lounge/kitchen, whats the soundproofing like? Dont want it sounding like a herd of elephants walking around like our current laminate does upstairs.

Joe – I emailed them to ask if there was a way they could reduce the postage to a letter sized package instead of their standard delivery cost and they posted me out a set for free. Worth asking.

Try password safe, you store all your website passwords in it and then have a master password to ‘open’ the safe and copy paste into the web page. Then you dont have to remember them individually.

Hated ours. Makes bad tasting coffee especially with the milk they provide and its noisy, takes ages and has a tiny water tank that needs filling every 5 minutes. Gave mine to my mum and its just collecting dust in her kitchen now too.

Dont think this will make any difference

And manufacturers should be discouraged from illuminating the dashboard
lights unless the headlights are lit so that drivers cannot drive around with no lights on oblivious to the fact.

Was driving out of Lakeside the other day behind a guy with no lights on about 9:30pm. Gave him a quick flash as a reminder but nothing, pulled up alongside at the traffic lights and his entire centre console was black. So he had no idea how fast or where he was going. Mental.

What really winds me up is the latest craze for a fog light to illuminate when people are turning a corner. Why? Can you suddenly not see round? Headlights are designed with almost 180 degree lighting so you can see as you drive around a corner.

Yep very good way of attaching, never had an issue with it coming off apart from what Burchy said about hitting it on something solid. Doesnt happen often though due to the low profile.

Hmm just had a full refund from them due to lack of stock. Bit annoying really as I ordered a mix of things so would have liked to have received at least some of it.

Ive got the Giant one above and its absolutely spot on for the job. Best money I spent on a bike tool to be honest.

I get this all the time. To the point now where everything gets deferred through me, regardless of simplicity. Im amazed anything gets done when Im on holiday.

As above its nice to know that people respect your knowledge like that, however I agree it does get boring and often prevents me from doing my own work as I get dragged into other things. Its part and parcel of work though, Id always seek out the person who could answer my question rather than trawl through a system or read various documents to find it out, and potentially still be none the wiser.

All my loose change goes in a jar at the end of each day, accounted for well over £100 in the last 6 months, took the edge off Christmas. Also make a meal planner for the month, doesnt have to be set days, just a list of meals and then only buy the ingredients you need for these. I found shopping online (MySupermarket.com etc) stops me browsing for stuff whilst shopping and being tempted by offers for things I dont need. Monthly food bill down to around £120 for two of us. Sandwiches for work and leftovers when curry/chilli etc for dinner the night before. Changed my mobile to SIM only deal, over 50% saving made a month, only use the car when necessary and also looking at doing my CBT to take advantage of using a scooter for commuting. Use broadband comparison sites to find cheapest providor, Sky were cheapest for us and also got discount for being a Sky TV subscriber as well. Stopped going to the pub, now have mates over or go to mates houses, buy from the supermarket when on offer and its much cheaper.

I have this problem too, recently changed to coffee before 12 and tea after 12. Considering the need for at least a litre of squash in the day.

Another vote for trainer road, nice selection of plans too so you can work to a target without having to work out which workouts to do. Combined with the Sufferfests it really is a good system. I always struggled to ride at 7.5/10 of my output, some days this is more than others so to have a graph to follow is great, especially when drilling yourself to the floor and dribbling all over the place.

Raced an FF29 round last years Big Dog, what a cracking bike! Haven’t ridden hard tail for about 18 years and hadn’t ridden that bike until the morning (it was a loan) and it was excellent both up and downhill. If I needed a budget XC bike that I would be happy to thrash round some black trails then it would be one of those.
