Based on experience, anything by Samsung will do the job just fine with no fuss. Full 1080 HD if you have a blu-ray, if you dont, or arent planning to, then not worth it but I doubt you will get anything less on a 37″ anyway? Try Richer Sounds (if you have one near you) for a demo of some with the features. Much better than Currys or whatever.

Had my old Samsung for over 6 years now, still works as well as the day I got it. Been tempted by the one you have there, looks a decent price too.

Went for an interview with a small support company for startup Hedgefunds in the City, first two went well, third was to meet the CEO, bit scared of this but a really nice relaxed chap. Finished the interview with a handshake and told me he was more than happy to welcome me to the team as long as my would be manager was happy with me. Fourth interview was with the manager (getting annoyed by this point) who turned out to be off ill so had a chat with a would be colleague. Nice guy who said he would give me the job there and then if he could. Got invited for a fifth with the manager again, but this got cancelled twice before I was told they werent recuiting anymore. Very annoyed as I sank over £10 into travel each time, plus skiving off work to be there. Shame as it was a huge payrise and great opportunity, all they had to say was I had the job!

Really. There is no doubt in my mind that Prof Cox would agree. However he isnt here so you will have to take my word for it. Honest.

You will need some way for the HRM to talk to the iPhone. You can get little ANT+ adaptors that plug in the bottom. No idea how much they are though.

Had a King for over 2 years, still runs as smooth as the day I got it and never touched it. Been through all sorts of crap, mud, grit, snow, sand you name it. Best value for money part Ive spent on the bike tbh.

Used to get this end up with a ‘claw’ hand that hurts like hell for ages. Slowly learned to release my grip a bit as it had become a death grip and to try and extend my fingers a little on the smoother sections to help ease it. Also bought a motogrip ring which I use at work as a stress ball (it gets a lot of use) and that seems to have helped too.

We have similar problems although not quite on the same scale. The hypocritical nature of things is unreal. We recently had a ‘costbusting’ scheme designed to save money where possible. One of them was to recycle stationary. Ideal for all those half used post-it pads etc but while we are all scratching around using secondhand biros our director has dropped two Blackberry’s down the loo and upon replacement two of the other senior management wanted ‘one like his too’ so we ended up paying out for 6, SIM free handsets, 4 of which were totally unnecessary and 2 could have been avoided with some care.

Staff are hugely demoralised and overworked, doing two jobs each most of the time and then people wonder why stuff goes wrong, doesn’t get done properly or sometimes, just not done at all. Over Xmas we were open for the first time in a good few years, three extra days. No management at all were on site during this period as they ‘needed a rest’. 😡

The one outside my place now has a nice big form attached to it (although right in the drivers eye line which isnt very helpful) saying if its still there in 7 days its £150 removal fee, £20 per day storage and then a £75 disposal fee if not collected or its scrapped.

Just reported a car parked opposite my house. Looks unsightly as its been involved in some kind of accident, parked badly, uninsured and untaxed. No tax since 2008 but its only appeared recently, which means someone has been driving an untaxed and uninsured car on the road. If its there past the end of the month, report it for sure. Its causing an obstruction and the owner clearly has no intention of moving it.

Not sure what would be more annoying, having my car cut open or having to read news stories in three line paragraphs.

If you are with O2 they definitely do an app called My O2 that will show your data usage in the current billing period.

Any news when the mixed pack in large will be back in stock?

Sounds promising then, thanks jamj. Not too ‘up’ on the various options available, whats electric/transmission? (I can guess the electric part)

    Any day shift with experience?

Good deal for the training. Just worth noting that this doesnt include the certification, just the training material.

Yes, if its only activated at night it will run on the night rate automatically allowing you to leave it switched on all the time and then it will only come on during the cheap rate. All your electric used in this period will be on the lower (night) rate. It might be worth taking a look at your usage as Im slowly finding that economy7 isnt actually that efficient or useful for me anymore. You can use a non-eco7 tarrif, some suppliers charge for a new meter, but it works out in a year or so in savings.

The original X-Com has to be on the list. Pretty clever design and structure, very open and non-linear (to a point). Also it was damn hard. No easy breaks or rewinds or extra lives. Dead meant dead. One or two shots could end hours of gaming. No respawns like CoD and co.

Just picked up the new version for the Xbox and impressed at how well they have kept the original recipe intact. Clearly the graphics are better and gameplay is smoother etc but the basic premise exists. Lots of balls to keep in the air, and eventually you are forced to drop some to keep the rest going.

I also have a yoof working for me. Now 20 and works hard, interested and only sometimes lapses into a dazed statis of nothingness. He tried uni, didnt like it, so left and got a few short term jobs until landing the apprenticeship with us. Fair play to the lad for making the call and getting out while he could, debt free. He earns almost nothing at the moment but it will all work out nicely in 8 months or so when our department splits and he gets offered a permanent position with healthcare and a pension. Im happy to throw him the not so boring jobs and let him grow a bit.

Seems to me that he is the odd one out of the uni brigade and I think the ‘i deserve it’ opinion is bred from schools telling people that uni is the answer and they MUST go. I know I was basically an outcast for 18 months when I opted not to apply for uni as I was making the schools figures look bad. FFS.

I ride with a few coppers down in the SE and recently a Norco DH was left in a local high street, unlocked, completely unattended. Naturally it was nicked and the next morning the team briefing included the bike complete with fairly detailed description, ebay results, a few pictures from the net and the owner. A pretty good response from the police really, although on the surface it would appear to be almost nothing. Its not something that can easily be investigated unless its spotted being sold or ridden.

In that case I think you can safely ignore them! Oh and sign up to strava with a false name. And wear a false beard when you ride walk on their land. 🙂

    Treacle, nope..

In that case not sure how they would narrow it down to you over other people that ride there.

Some kind of gps device tracking in them would quickly build up a picture of their paths and how much of the land has been covered. Alternatively something similar to those robotic lawn mowers combined with this design may work although no doubt be vastly more expensive.

I presume you werent silly enough to start and finish your ride on your GPS right at your front door?

From experience from friends nothing happens. One guy I know hasnt had a TV license for about 5 years, just goes round in a loop of red letters, warning letters, then back to the standard letter. So far no other action has been taken.

I rang up with a view to a similar thing but to clear a chunk of debt. 6 years of payments, not a single missed one etc etc same company and yet still a deline. The lady even warned me before she ran the check that 90%+ get turned down instantly and about 50% of those that dont get turned down later on.

Dont want to p**s on your parade but I would perhaps look at other ways of plumping up the savings just in case.

For £10 and your own piece of mind I would. As DD says it will be a nice addition to the docs when/if you come to sell on too.

I would presume if its full disk encryption that you will need an appropriate encryption boot disk, and some kind of passkey to allow you to fully decrypt the disk, then generate new mbr or run disk utils, then re-encrypt when you are back up and running.

We have the McAfee EEPC at work and its a huge ball ache when a disk errors as it turns out to be a half day fix rather than ten minutes

Ancient computer processor, graphics card and case went for just over £100 all in. All of it about 6 years old too.
