Have you sat down and discussed this with the CEO? Ive found people to be more than reasonable when presented with concerns like this. Perhaps you could agree to working 1 weekend in 4 or something to ensure you have a reasonable work/life balance or TOIL when you do end up working a weekend.

If he isnt reasonable and demands you do it all, then your decision not to accept or go elsewhere is easy, if he meets you halfway then you get a payrise, promotion and a happy boss. You just need to ensure his expectations are the same as yours before you start the role, once you accept the goal posts wont be moved (at least by you)

Not sure it would make a lot of difference, for the majority of flights you can only see the sea anyway, or cloud. Not sure why they cant do the solar panels things now though, its on the roof so the windows aren’t in the way.

I have it, mainly as I got it at my last company and chose to continue the payments when I left. I personally feel that with cycling its almost a necessity. You dont know how bad your next crash could be. A mate broke his neck and the NHS didnt even managed to diagnose it, private saw him diagnosed and operated on in two days and he lived like a king in recovery.

If you are unsure there are some that offer a half and half option where if your NHS appointment will be more than say 6 weeks away, then you can use the private option. If the NHS can fulfill your need inside that time then you stick with them. A nice, cheaper, halfway house if you dont want to go the whole hog.

Haven’t ridden with a bag for years, pockets on jersey, bottles on bike, job done.

Every time I see people riding like that it makes me want to go out and get a DH bike and do the same. Just an enormous lack of talent preventing me. Proper skills there.

Try using some carbon assembly paste. You shouldnt need more than about 5-7Nm of torque to keep them on.

Sounds like you work where I do. Ive handed in my notice and have just under two weeks to go. Its like a massive weight off my shoulders, Id recommend finding something else and getting out ASAP.

As above, got one, never needed to use it. Was a bit scared of undoing it from the top cap incase the headset fell apart 😳

Went to an interview for a IT tech role, took longer to get in and out of the building than the 30 minute interview.

Same as above, been wearing them for a few years now, never had a problem. An absolute revelation for riding and especially in bad weather!

In civilian clothes Im a medium (6ft 2″, 32/34″ waist) but in my Gabba Im a large and its a spot on fit (apart from my weedy shoulders/arms not filling it out)

Ideally buy a couple of sizes and send back what you dont need but its an expensive outlay.

Ive found that I get much fewer DPF regens using them than ‘regular’ or supermarket fuel. Performance wise nothing and MPG maybe 1 or 2, however anything that stops the DPF being a problem is worth its weight in gold!!

Love my Gabba, as above I wear it all the time during the chillier days, full length zip means that even on the cold starts that lead to warmer mornings you can regulate temperature easily.

Extra slim fit is a god send for shirts, as is the collar and arm length measurements, however I do find that the slim fit suit is a little tight over my bulging thigh muscles… 😉

3rd vote for Tywhitt’s, and TM Lewin is worth a look as well if you have a local one.

My only advice would be to eat regularly from the off, don’t wait until half way around to start fueling up, you are basically going to be eating for the last hour or two of the ride and that’s when you will bonk hard if you haven’t fueled enough.

Another vote for Lezyne here, got the Pressure Drive and its great, flexible hose that fits between the valve and pump so no bending of the valve!

A good selection of sweet and savoury is good I think. Doing the Etape Eryri I was overjoyed to see some bitesize cheese rolls as I was sick of sweet tasting energy bars/drinks/gels. Oh and a huge box of Haribo that people can just grab a handful of! Slices of oranges, plenty of water and bitesize bananas too.

Lunch in the Kafer restaurant on top of the Reichstag (must book in advance though). Amazing view and good food.

DDR Museum by the river, very interesting about everyday life.

Open top bus tour, great way of seeing all the things you otherwise arent that interested in.

Food wise visit a Block House and Allegretto by the river do a smashing Curry Wurst.

I didnt get the chance but the Trabi safari looks fun too!

The Unimog has been discontinued or ‘retired’ as the put it, which is annoying. 🙁

Currently eyeing up the mobile crane and the service truck.

Mine was, not sure if its standard practice but I mailed them to say its stopped working, they replied asking for my address and I had a gauge a few days later. Top service. 🙂

Bung Lezyne a mail, they will post you a replacement gauge. Feels all wrong replacing it as you have to destroy the old one but it does work and its pretty simple.

I rode it a week ago and clocked 15.5K so +/- 10% to allow for inaccurate garmin but its certainly not 24K. Also recorded ~500m of climbing.

A mate and I bit our tongues at Cwmcarn at the weekend when a family turned up to the cafe with two young kids on bikes. Both the kids forks were on backwards but decided it might not be well received as we sat there with our carbon ego chariots.

Drove to Tuscany and then Catollica year before last, had a cracking time taking in all the beautiful mountain roads and managed to divert back via an overnight in Munich which was excellent too.

Ive got a niggle that reserve and collect makes you pay in store when you collect it, so that probably counts as an in-store purchase as the transaction took place in the shop.

Its quite telling when Sky have had sandy air as ‘Breaking News’ for the last couple of days, but a massive earthquake in Chile is way down the list. Similar to the MH370 news, which has the same text in a different order each day.

Love my Lezyne, had it a few years and its been fine. Had to replace the gauge when I broke it and Lezyne sent me a replacement for free, also bought the 90 degree push on head adaptor and they are beautifully made things.

Taking the place of the ‘expert’ I wish I was invited to these meetings, currently they take place without me and I get an email detailing impossible tasks…
