Been with ’em for 3 yrs due to price, never had to contact them, so no issues.
Wife been with ’em for 2 yrs. Had a blameworthy collision this year, one single phone call (to a UK advisor) & everything dealt with in that one call. No further contact required, her car fixed satisfactorily, presumably other car fixed no issues, no excess to pay. Simple, seamless process. Will happily renew next year if the price is right.

Agree with fasthaggis .. ‘You just have to persist until it becomes a habit’ .. I have a 14 mile commute starting at 5.45 for a 7am start (I like to be early, more fool me!) .. 12hr shift then the commute home, so a looong day/night. Initially it was a real chore, but now find myself pissed off with the days/nights I have to drive.
I also find I have more energy & arrive home in a better mood if i’ve cycled rather than driven!

Electrolyte discount applied automatically in basket as bigG said … but only applies to blackcurrant & mango/pineapple. Combination of 50% off for Aug & bank holiday 40% discount.

    Edit: That’s on tabs.

1 rider with a punctured lung, the other got away with cuts & extensive bruising. Gutted for them & the other 2 riders involved in the challenge.

+1 for Hayfield Camping & Caravan site. Immaculately kept, small play area for kids, short walk into Hayfield, plenty of pub grub to choose from … & lets not forget the superb Peaks trails from the door!!

The trails at Philips Park (Prestwich/Whitefield) are only 20 mins away …. very short, but superb for a quick blast.

My lad went to Waterbabies from 3 months old .. absolutely loved it & was always chosen as the ‘demonstration’ baby. At around 24 months or so he just started to hate it … screamed the place down resusing to even get in the pool! We had to give up & didn’t push the idea of swimming. He’s now 2 3/4 & a month or so ago we took him to the local pool just to give it another go .. he demanded a set of armbands & swam giggling for the next half hour! Has been that way every week since.
I’d give Toddler North a break & just try an adhoc trip to the pool in a couple of months? .. & repeat until she’s over it?

Not too clued up on the current set up, but when initially set up in Manchester Paramedic bikes were supplied liveried up by Leisure Lakes. Routine servicing also carried out by them, minor bits & bobs taken care of by the Paramedics themselves.

I was hesitant due to the reported build quality issues .. but ultimately figured worse case scenario was giving the LBS some business trueing! (combined cost still seemed worthwhile).
Needn’t have worried .. I obviously didn’t get a Fri afternoon pair! More than happy to buy again in the future.

I’ve been lucky enough to have had 2 trips out there, 1st to Peru & Bolivia, 2nd to Chile & Argentina. Could easily recommend any of them!! .. but have to agree with BadlyWiredDog, Bolivia is pretty bleedin’ amazing!!
1st trip was built around the fact I wanted to do the Inca Trail.
2nd time I wanted to do the ‘W’ trek in Patagonia.
I can recommend organising your own trip, extremely easy to get about in any of the countries i’ve visited, can tailor every detail to what you want to do, not tied to an itinerary so if you like somewhere can easily just stay an extra day or 2! .. added benefit, you save a load of cash to spend on the hol!
If you get hold of brochures from some of the big companies offering overland trips in South America the itineraries give you a good idea of what there is to do and will give you an idea of routes & timescales required to cover all the highlights of a particular country/countries.

Love to climb & mtb…. but since having kids it’s a struggle to choose between the two… hence i’m now equally crap at both!!

Cheers for the replies guys. Looks like the general consensus would be to go for the wheels …. (but pray the wheelbuilder is having a good day!!) 🙂

+1 for the Deuter Kid Comfort! My lad loves being in it. Pricey, but i’ve always found it to be extremely comfortable… even with an ever increasingly heavy 2 year old in!

14 miles each way, around 45 mins … bit too far to do every day, not the distance itself thats the problem but the 12 hour shift between journeys!

…. Superlight!! Just done the same, transferred all the upgraded parts from my ancient Marin to a Superlight frame. It’s had a right battering in the Peak this weekend… & can’t rate it highly enough!

Definitely a case of ‘how long is a piece of string’! I had a property developer buy my last house, well known by the estate agents, cash sale & no survey. I was moving into t’other halfs place, so no onward chain & no mortgage application. Still took 7 weeks!

Ordered a seatpost from CRC last week, took 5 days to be told it was out of stock! Why oh why don’t they simply keep their site up to date.. if it had shown ‘out of stock’ I wouldn’t have ordered it in the first place!! [Only bothered with CRC as I had been bought a gift voucher… LBS will be getting cash in the till later instead]

Father in law put his I-Pod nano through the wash..not surprisingly it stopped working! He booked an appointment (& told them the truth about the wash), they looked at it said it couldn’t be fixed & replaced it free of charge!! Say what you like about Apple… but that is way beyond good customer service!!

E-mail them and explain the situation stating you shouldn’t have to incur costs.. I had a similar issue & they suggested I pay the postage to return the item, then inform them of the cost & they would refund that amount. Did as suggested & postage refunded as promised.

Thanks for all your replies… that anthem at £1600 is a steal!!.. but looking at frame only as it’s the only bit that hasn’t been replaced in the last 12 months! .. the voice in my head is still saying ‘Superlight’ .. think the bike shop may get a visit in the morning…

FunkyDunc & u02sgb: must admit the anthem had occurred to me.. but one issue is a headtube that suits/fits my existing donor forks (non-tapered). (plus, there’s just something about a Superlight…. 😛 )
