I’m not sure of the older type houses, but we as a rule lay 150mm below damp course,10mm from wall as your muck(mortar)joint will butt up against house, shingle as jag61 has said for aesthetics, remember as long as you’ve got fall No water will penetrate there as the muck will stop any ingress,be liberal with your fall,I’m guessing from window to left of door too gully pot is roughly 3.5m so yr fall wants to be minimum50/60mm,as said above there’s lots of different types of traps/lids/covers for yr downpipe outlet, remember yr falling away from the house.

Wright’s,what I mean too say is run from far window down too gully then off of slab, from the left side I’d fall from wall in same direction away from house,so basically looking at pic 1,window being north, run everything south,(mm,does that make much sense??)

Hi chap,I’d go with what you said above last, just start yr paviors at the rear of house(under window),then sleight fall toward downpipe pot that takes the water from roof/gutter,again 2nd pic, sleight fall from furthest point and run toward downpipe pot,

<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>I’m laying said slabs at work at present,as long as you put fall toward outlet water will find its way there no problem, any other will run off slabs.</span>

    Cheers,

I’ve sent a pic over to you,it’s pretty much the same,as you’ll see i can push a sewing pin through with room either side,I’d say it’s about couple mm at most.

No not quite, hole further to left, goes through other side 3mm further in still.

    Cheers nixie very similar.

Yes,agree nixie with the pistons sticking, but coming from one Hope brake to another I didn’t think too realise they’d need more tinkering, the techX2 are faultless,as good as fit and forget, lessoned learned  I suppose on lack of molicodiling the E4s,good brake when working but have become a ballache to service.

Possibly coatesy, and yes shall send back for service,as for leaks No,but I don’t expect to pay that kind of money too have a fault for whatever reason,I’ve had and still have Hope brakes on other bikes and never had any  problems with pistons sticking and problems bleeding along with holes in caliper bodies.

Thanks for replies,I was just interested if any other E4  owners had come across this.

    Yes,yes I know picture’s,I cannot upload tj,sorry

it’s the area where the caliper body is closest to rotor, just skims past the inside of caliper body, when you centre your rotors you keep however much distance away from that area,it’s actually on the front end of that part of caliper.

It’s reet strange as it doesn’t do anything, unless they drilled hole in to hang whilst spraying,I very much doubt that though, just very odd place, and I can’t imagine anything sharp enough penetrate into the ally like that,I can push a sewing needle through and wiggle around quite easily.

Decathlon have their own range of cheap, lightish hiking boots,Quechua I think,we buy the young lads sports shoes from there and they really are good for what you pay, missus and I have had various pieces of clothing and shoes and they’ve lasted and done what they said on the tin.Good value.

I had a very bizarre experience of exactly that, long story as short as poss,

As a wee nipper(21) I commuted between two Market towns 12 miles apart along A43,red van came close opened door ,I kind off sensed at time that I was being closely followed and managed to pull in as they sped passed with door fully open, forward 4 years  I’ve a job scaffold labouring, on the way back from Cheltenham after a week in diggs i’m in the back of the van going along the exact stretch of road when all of a sudden the passenger door gets flung open as I see a cyclist in front,I  said ‘what the f.. you doin’ his 16st Donny accented luddite turns round and says ‘we always dos that on Friday’!!

Utter cretins, never forget that,to think that I was in same van amazes me to this day.

Ive recently stripped down some candy 2s,gave them a good wipe down with some gt85 that got most of surface rust off, then some marine grease that was recommended off here years ago,ive still got original tube as its used spareingly,i cant fault it.

Sir hc that’s a cracking video,I found that two of the front pistons in the rear were very sticky,I need some new pads before I can properly see if I’ve solved problem,  I’ve re bled but not installed pads, that’s pretty much as well as the above what’s happened,Exellent.

Andyl they sit approx 2mm below edge of pad,not above in this case, hopefully f mount will sort that issue.

Cheers guys,as mostly all ways this place is a wealth of knowledge and possibilities when it comes too servicing problems.

I had same problem once on a new chain, turns out pretty much what somafunk says,I’d bent a link whilst breaking and reconnecting so worth checking for iffy links.

Ok,just too add, bolts with washers just holding down caliper as per norm with most bolt fixings?on all of my bikes like that, ill give the f mount a try, iirc I used adapter out of spares box at the time so may well of overlooked, thanks.

I’ve crud race 3s on my Lynskey, they say up too 32mm but I’ve 28mm and its pretty tight at the back although no problems with the front, only downside is they’ve these peculiar stickle brick type patches you stick too stay/fork then the other half  attaches too guard ,I found that adding a zip tie solved any problems arising from  vibration, there not too bad looking either considering.

Ss been left sitting on rear wheel upright after muddy slogfest for sometime so cranks have decided too no longer turn, cup and kone rear hub feeling a little unloved,<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>ordered a XT bb from crc for £11:99 posted which I was more than happy with.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>The rear bearings on my 10spd are feeling somewhat less spinny of late so more maintenance and a little expense for new bearings for that,no worries though all part of the fun though I guess.</span>

Utter drivel…..!!makes you wonder why Lucas sold too Disney, was it he actually knew it had know where too go??
I found it an absolute cgi spectacle but was left thinking what the hell am I still sitting here for(7 yr old sitting next too me so would of been a scene from the movie had I decided too leave),but fell asleep instead,I expected it too be predictable but it was anything but,the story had no flow or cohesion, dodgy acting rubbish script and a complete assassination of the original characters, cheapest of the cheap one liners and what ever the message they were trying too get across become more and more blurred as the film went on,I’ve been a fan of SW since being taken too Leicester square in 1977 but last night was a massive disappointment apart from the cgi,for me the plot and story seemed like it had been written by a haribo fuelled eight yr old…
There was one epic scene that was original SW and that was where snoke, Rey and the the one with the strange voice and cloak had a dust up,class but could have been left as a cliff hanger,we hadn’t even got too know anything about Smoke, next minute he’s gone.
    Shame really.

Not yet, going out shortly,i had one on Saturday, regular staple route that I haven’t done in a little while as enjoying the road lately but just seemed perfect in every way,got out early,no dogs, horses or walkers, weather great good traction even done an extra loop of the short steep bits and then managed a particular drop off I’ve been avoiding forever..maybe should get on the MTB more.
It’s good when it all falls into place, turned out too be a very productive day from then on and throughout the weekend come too think if it,
lesson 1.Get on bikes more often.

Scotroutes, going too try again with the heating method,I just sat it in freshly boiled water beforehand not actual boiling in the pan,it may of not been in long enough or lost heat quickly through the mug, failing that the hacksaw method will be used.

Oh yeah cougar.. kelly le’brock I believe,
I had probably one of the best experiences of my life around the time that film came out,..long story short…
me 16,older sisters friend was a dead ringer for k L (in my eyes Anyhoos),they had been out till early hours,I wake up blurry and sleepy eyed too sisters friend whispering my name from corner of my room, next thing she’s curling up next too me,would my mates believe me..Certainly Not,it was weird science!fantastic though, bit awkward at breakfast though :)
