mondeo all the way….the boots are huuuge(2 dh bikes fully built go straight in with room to spare), the lagunas have electrical faults…the mondeos do have there problems(mine hasnt) duel mass flywheel needs changing around 100k(or whenever it packs up) and costs a fair bit. early tdci's (02-52) sometimes have injector problems too.

saying that though….i have a 51 plate tddi and can easily maintain 55 mpg(roughly 670 miles to each tank..without driving miss daisy)

not as refined as my passat but cheaper to maintain

o2 unlimited for me mate….£15 a month top up and it gives you unlimited calls and txts to any 02 number whilst retaining the £15 to text/call other networks/landlines etc…after the first 3 minutes a day for landlines at 30p it goes to 5p a min for the rest of that day….works amazingly well if all/majority of your mates are on 02 as well.

Also, because I top up £10 or more every 3 months, I get 02 broadband for £7.39 a month

Not for everyone, I know….but is brilliant for me :-)

on a personal note…..keep trading in your old cars as it provides me with work :-) ..Im a transporter driver that at the moment gets his work by picking up the scrappage scheme cars and taking them to the depoloution sites to be crushed….some of the cars that ive picked up so far have been surprising to say the least 8O

    it depends on their whereabouts

If the glass is below 800mm from the floor then it is deemed as a safety issue and therefore needs to be safety glass(toughened/laminated…dependant on the use) to comply with regulations…..also includes doors and anywhere within 150mm of a door….this dramatically increases the price

you also need to measure the overall thickness of the unit(outside edge to other outside edge as different frames need different thickness units
They can be anywhere from a 6mm gap to 20mm gap with 2 panes of 4-6mm glass

so if your unit is 24mm total thickness then you will need to order a unit in your length/height requirements and state that it needs to be 4/16/4 ..4mm glass,16mm gap,4mm glass etc

if the measurments are correct, I suspect that your windows are either bedroom/lounge/kitchen windows….have a measure of the floor to glass height.

sorry if this is long winded btw

I left that type of work, for this very reason…..the people I worked with were exactly as the stereotype suggests with no people skills. I didnt want do be a part of this and left after 4 months in which time I worked on 4 different venues around the county. I still see a few of the people every now and again…they havent changed.

Would’ve loved to work with theotherjonv’s mate sean…..seems a decent guy

Sorry to bear bad news but replacing a bay is the most expensive/hardest window to replace.

They have to be measured accurately as no 2 bays are the same.I.e the angles are different/each side could be different lengths.
The removal and fitting isnt straight forward either as whilst removing, the bay has to be supported(usually by acros) so as not to collapse.
It also depends on how high the start of the glass is from the floor as to whether you will need toughened glass(under 800mm = more expense)

Been out of the game for a few years but I personally hated doing bays.

I would also use a decent local chippy as they usually take more pride in their work(not thrashing around and leaving untold amount of mess everywhere and taking shortcuts because they are paid by the day…not for a good job done

    hope this helps a little

Ive been on 02 “pay if you can” for longer than I can remember now,
£15 per month for unlimited calls and txts to other 02 numbers.(still have £15 of credit to call other numbers)

With 02 I get broadband for £7.34 pm because Im already a customer

    Never lost connection…yet
Customer service is good(scottish call centres i think)
signal coverage is better than any other network Ive used

Overall…..no plans to change so cant be bad :-)

Provided you get the right weight oil it doesnt matter really. Companies will try and say otherwise but I buy mine from a local motorcycle shop for about £4 for a litre of some shell fork oil.

    hope this helps
