the five is proven to be an excellent bike..minimal issues with the frame over the years.
SC are very good other than the sizing….you’d be best to test ride one to see if you prefer the medium or large.
Lapierre has more pivots etc that can go wrong..cost more to put right but that said, ive not seen any needing replacing yet though. I have heard the odd one or two cracking though

It all comes down to whether you can justify the extra for british marque

agrred..this really boils my piss…they obviously know thay havent got the stock to sell….isnt it a requirement that the seller actually has to have the said item in their possesion to be able to sell it? if not..its wrong.

if the pressures dont work…get a swampthing up front until it gets a little less claggy….it clears really well and grips good too..its the next step

i have found that a combination of minion up front and high roller rear combo is the best way of getting down a hill fast..unless its particularly wet..then its out with the swampys/wetscreams…i dont do uphill…energy is for riding..not wasting

im at the extreme end of clydesdale

either tyres would be good as they both roll well and hook up well in deep gloop too…its whichever you prefer out of the 2 and whichever is cheapest

having not read the entire thread…i can 99% guarantee that im the heaviest rider on this site….never broken any parts…i mean NONE/nil/zilch 8)

the weight piled on once i’d stopped working the doors and boxing/thai boxing to start driving trucks…upside is that the money is a lot better

at the moment, im 27 stone and 5’10″….can still comfortably do the llandegla black route/ride dh at wharncliffe/woburn/chicksands and get out a couple of times a week for an hour or so in the week riding xc

sounds like a drive shaft maybe….if you put too much stress through them, they can shred the splines..much like on hollotech ii cranks.. only..they have them at either end.
when they go it renders the car undrivable

    cold? schmold!

its only starting to get to a temp that i can say is comfortable…but then I only wear more than a t-shirt if its raining or snowing..and even then its just a wind/rainproof

I work nights and still have the aircon on at its coldest throughout.

For me, its the sheer sillyness of the posts that keep me hooked…people's warped sense of humour, the silly squabbles, the outspoken. Oh….and theres a bit to do with actually riding too….what more do you want?
