I have done it your way round GX shifter & Xt rear derailleur & it was poor would not shift smoothly though all of the gears would jump despite adjustments so swapped to the other way round . have also run it with a Sunrace rear derailleur all been with GX cassettes. One helpful point the Shimano derailleur needs a longer chain than Sram to run smoothly 1 set links
12 speed XTR shifter with XX1 rear derailleur & GX cassette no issues on Rise for 18months best of both, Shimano shifter nicer feel than GX & XX1 derailleur stronger & more robust than Shimano
The brushless Hydroshot the battery mounts on the side of the unit, the cheaper one on the bottom of the handle. Adding the makita adapter just makes it a bit fiddly to remove, have been happy just using supplied battery so far. Use it on the bike & van 🚐
On 3rd Hydroshot, replaced one under warranty, Amazon were very good, worked but just stopped sucking up water! Second one did same thing but after warranty ran out. Have used it with makita batteries with adapter from eBay. Latest hydro shot is the brushless version & seems to be ok for now
Sounds like same spec as the Orbea Rise the rear wheel could be rebuilt with better/lighter spokes & hub is stupid heavy!! , my Shimano hub was 480g on digital scales. Bar & stem also v heavy
Replacement fork would say the Manitou Mezzer Pro, as I own one currently on my 297 Mega.
The RXF38 would be my other choice, or possibly a DVO onyx D1 as last choice.
That’s a bargain price! I got one of their purple 297s in the sale now the EXT mega is cheaper too. My mega climbs ok but my other bike for comparison is the Orbea Rise 😂
I wouldn’t bother, The number of chosen hubs that have failed on the Orbea Rise is almost all between 100-300 miles. The replacement freehub is probably as expensive as the whole hub.
I rebuilt my M20 wheels with decent hubs & Sapim race spokes. The shitmano rear hub is 480g. The rims aren’t bad & build up nice being offset rims. These are my winter wheels, I also have light set carbon wheels for summer setup
I was going to get a 290 mega frame but loved the Purple 297 frame so built that up. It’s a great fun bike although only ridden local trails so far it rides very well & I have tried it with a 29er wheel in the rear
They have arrived & fitted, a Matt silver look a bit different, am still not sure on them, The drive side came undone a bit, 10mm Allen then outer Allen is 12mm.
No name or markings on them which is a bit different also
Plush suspension, they were a bit slow one time but they can dial in the fork or shock to your weight & riding style, I bought my coil off fb marketplace the previous owner ex TF tuned had tuned it to his weight & bike so chatted to Plush to get shock tuned to my Rise. Plus the owner did my Cytech course many years ago
It rode ok in the woods, but any rocky locations, especially pedalling uphill over rocks too many pedal strikes. Am running a Manitou Mezzer on front & TTX coil on the rear, just prefer the 29er setup, it’s a very capable bike
I have tried mine with mullet in the rear. BB is low. Am running the forks at 160mm so raises BB from stock. M20 with fox34 at 140mm travel BB height is 336mm. Mine is full custom M20 if could of bought just a Frameset I would have.
Stuck with 29 wheels 140 rear 160 up front
Mine was collected on 9th still not arrived yet one collected on 13th they tried to deliver today on a Sunday! I was out as didn’t expect a Sunday delivery
When mine eventually turns up will weigh it, large purple mega with fast shock went to wrong depo yesterday now sitting at sorting hub!! Parcelforce muppets
Hey ho
The only reason I sold my Ohlins fork is that you need specialist tools for Full service where as I can do full damper service & lowers on my Mezzer forks experimenting with oil weights in damper & shim stacks
If you can increase travel on the 34 to 150mm I would recommend it, at 140mm travel it’s a low BB at 336mm most e-bikes are a Lot higher BB!
The 2023 H & M will have same charger & choices of 360 or 540wh batteries
