Time was being captured by these technologies. People were fearful it was their souls!

I do salute you for raising an interesting topic, andrewh! :)

andrewh, I don’t know how old you are but, fairly recently, people accepted the ‘magic’ that was the internet and embraced it. I don’t know if you ever experienced ‘silent’ dialup connections, or if you are a child of ‘technicolor stereophonic’ broadband. All pioneering technology has it’s teething problems.

BTW nobody in this country has a doju. All they can do is teach classes.

If the child will respond, maybe Steinarism is the best way forward. :D

I’m not clever enough to suggest a topic for an argument between Elfin and TJ. I would be happy to sponsor one, depending on the number of cogent and appropriate posts achieved. Anyone else up for it? :-)

Shoot, I am discourteous in not asking either of them to willingly participate! :(

It was the last Christmas cracker. We were surrounded by all the ‘indulgences’ that have been discussed here. My grandaughter(4yrs. old)won the ‘snap’.
‘It’s a dice!’, she yelled with great excitement, then ran round the room showing everyone.
She then went to the toy cupboard and dragged out the tattered remains of last years ‘Snakes & Ladders’.
The dog had evidently eaten the original, and all she was waiting for was a replacement!
    Much fun ensued! :D

Cats have scent glands in their paws, as well as various other parts!
They use these to mark out safe nesting places.

As has been already said, you have a happy cat and are honoured! :D

If lcs will do it for £50.00, I would reccomend you get them to do it. That is a very good price for an absolute faff of a job!

I charge £70.00 for the same job, and consider that underpriced!

    Echo what z1ppy says.

Easus partion manager is free to download, and easy to use.

    http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm

Vista also has a serious flaw in it’s system restore policies. By default it sets no upper limit on storage size. Your partitioncould have many Gb’s of redundant restore points filling it up!

A quick search online should provide you with the neccessary registry hack to solve this problem in future!

Free legal advice is very much of the ‘you get what you pays for’ variety, IME.

Without going into the detail (it was complex!), I was being ‘threatened’ by a north-eastern trading standards authority on behalf of a client thrice removed. (Told you it was complex!)

I immediately called the FSB hotline and was told I didn’t have a leg to stand on, that I should not only capitulate but that I should lay on my back, supine, and submit to whatever happens next.

My next call was to my local trading standards authority. Their advice was ‘Tell them to go **** themselves!’

Which I did. Still got no feedback from it!

Interesting post. Every example cited is of a legitimate artistic interpretation, not a ‘cover’.

‘Covers’ were a marketing ploy used by the record companies to exploit regional differences around the world.

The original songwriter was the one to gain, supposedly!

PC Experts, what is the best system for backing up a laptop, safely and easily?

    There isn’t one.

Drop the ‘safely’ and the world is your oyster!

    Storage media change, constantly.

I have a ‘house’ full of gear that can do wax cylinders, 78/33/45 rpm vynil/shellac, 1/4″ tape upwards, compact cassette, 8 track, etc.

That is before I get into the digital domain!

Consolidation is what your loft is for! :D

    It isn’t wireless

Why not make it so? £15.00 (ish) one off payment for a usb adapter.
