interested to know how it’s riding now too.

I was down last week. It was still quite muddy, even though many other trails were dry, but the mud wasn’t sticky, the trail rode pretty well and quite fast.

I was thinking it might be stages 5-8 from EWS, would fit with the trail closures (black and part of red)?

Will have a look when I’m down tomorrow for any ‘signs’…

Dropper and gear routings work great. I run the dropper control on the left too.

Yes I guess that the time limit just to the last stage end would at least allow for viewing, I really enjoyed that!

I bought of couple of bottles in autumn and have used UBS over the winter on my commuter bike and mtb. I was initially really taken with the idea of the products and it certainly washes off after each ride to leave a shiny chain. However I have soaked my chain with it after each ride (you do get quite a lot that drips off) and somehow my chains have shown a fair bit of corrosion, though mainly surface effect. It’s a water based solution and it is almost as though the corrosion inhibitors haven’t worked. I’ve recently changed both chains and have moved back to conventional oil for now. I loved the simplicity of UBS, lack of gunk etc, but the corrosion was surprising.

Maybe I got a bad batch, I might try it again in future as it was very easy maintainance.

I also enjoyed the lack of stage one because it made things less rushed. Sometimes I like the physical challenge of a big day out, but yesterday was one of the most enjoyable days I’ve had as I was fresh throughout and had plenty of time to chat to mates and join the crowd at S4 spectating. If time limit was tighter then we would not have had that chance, I’m not a fan of the tight time limits like last year’s K&Q, especially when there are queues.

Atmosphere was great, good chat with the marshals, spectators and competitors and really good stages. Brilliant day out!
