Our local has Doom Bar on at the moment, lush. For now, I'll have to settle for my eight cans of Hobgoblin in the fridge.

We should sit him down and tell him that god and jesus are characters out of a book of fiction and are no more real than Batfink or Booboo the Bear.

Yep, that's what I think is the only option. Once you've got the one out, you can easily get to the other two I suspect.

Thanks uplink, I've used that vid before, but that's the problem. The Northern geezer in it mentions the freehub body bearings about 5 mins in and says "just tap them out if they feel ropey", but how do you tap them out? As I said, hub body bearings are a piece of p1ss, but it's the bearings inside the gold freehub I'm trying to work out how to remove. Ta!

I can remove and replace the hub body bearings using the Hope tools, but it's the bearings inside the freehub body that I can't work out how to remove.

Thanks martp, tried both mole grips and pliers, but it just won't budge.

Yes, it's a Fox RP2. Here's the page on the BETD site: http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/items.asp?CategoryID=92&Name=Strong+Bushes Under the "Strong bush" section, you'll see the drop-down options.

A Trance with Flow rims and Nobby Nics USTs. Handles mostly everything well.

I'd pop into Pearce Cycles and ask them – they'll be able to tell you what's going on in the area. Our club is probably a little too far north for you, but we often ride the Longmynd area.

You don't have to rip it up the climbs. Steady momentum is all you need. It's ace. Did a two hour ride last night, which I reckon was comparable to a three hour FS ride, fitness-wise.

Lol, the singlespeed is a winter training bike. Don't worry, I'll be on my full sus for next weekend's race: Mawddach Goldrush Challenge

It sounds anal, but everyone affected needs to document as many instances as possible where his behaviour has been unprofessional. The only way for action to be forced upon him is if you can provide evidence of the problems.

Avocado and bacon. Avo needs to be mushy-ripe, bacon really crispy, mayo, black pepper, served on a white sub. Lush.

Makes you wonder why the frame manufacturers don't adopt a new BB width to do away with the spacers.

Well done sir, now keep it up.

    Well I'm a muslim… I myself am not a practising muslim…

Contradiction in terms? Surely if you don't practise, you're a standard human being?

I guess it's not as important to have a specific SS chainring at the front, as it is to have one at the back? I fitted a Gusset rear cog and the chain stays on now. I've not had problems with a standard chainring on the front.

Been running them for 6 months – love them too. No problems whatsoever – light, strong, still true, great tyre profile, and they make going tubeless simple and one of those "why didn't I do this years ago" moves. The best component on my bike.

Had a year in Wealdstone. I used to see rats running down the town high street in a morning – they were darting out from the bins left out on the street by the 15-odd takeaways. Why is it your typical urban town centre high street only seems to have takeaways, estate agents, mini-grocers and taxi ranks?

CyB was perfect this morning. Ice in places (mainly puddles), dry because of the frost and surprisingly grippy pretty much everywhere. I set out to do the Beast but I think the MBR sections are closed for maintenance so I ended up doing just the Dragon's Back. Beautiful clear crisp morning, views in places were stunning.

Getting in the RH-lane at lights to drive past slow/unpredictable/dangerous-looking drivers always carries this risk. I've had my fair share of these sort of bumps. I would agree you were completely in the right, but the insurers will only take this as knock-for-knock – both drivers should have been aware of each other at all times. That's the way they'll see it.

Cheers, as they just felt too easy to pull away from the hub, I did wonder.

I got a really smart business suit from Moss for £260. IMO, you're better off spending up to £300 for it to last and look good – especially if it's the only suit you have. As for machine washable, don't bother, you'll still need to get it pressed afterwards.

I've been running my SS for about three weeks now, and am new to the game. I find it provides a balance to my riding. I do a two-hour ride on the SS and feel I'm benefiting from the workout I'm getting, then I jump on the FS and feel more confident than ever on the downhills, as it feels that bit more capable than the bike I last rode.

I'm loving the fact that with my flat/SPD pedals on the SS, I can bomb down to the shops on it, nip into town or go off on a two-hour ride (which is the fitness-equivalent of a three-hour FS ride), when I haven't got the time for a longer ride.

Do both SS and FS – thoroughly recommended.

Common cold viruses. I got over one that lasted four weeks and have now picked up another. Whoever can cure these will make as much money as the person that will invent a cure for hair loss.

We'll be up there tonight – love it in the dark. Doing all the black runs then a spin up to the masts for a blast down the river/trail to the road.

Had mine just over a year, and absolutely love it. The frame is so good, it's worth upgrading. I added longer forks (Recons, cheap, but internals are still v. good quality), ZTR Flows on Hope Pro IIs, tubeless Nobby Nics, Avid Alixir CRs, Race Face finishing kit.

I'm there. Did it last year in the filth and loved it. The route isn't that exciting, but it's the beer, company, atmosphere, pubs, laff that makes it the highlight of my year! If you find a good B&B, book it for the following year this year. I guarantee you will want to do it again. RAW on Facebook

£5 a week. I stock up when I do the weekly big shop and take advantage of supermarket deals. I eat three big bags of Haribo and a couple of choccie bars a week. My teeth are not good!

The Big Pink, White Lies. Big 80s sounding rock. Played Talk Talk's The Colour Of Spring on the car stereo on the way home tonight – now that is awesome music!

I've put 130mm Recons on this 2008 4.2" Trance and in my opinion, it's hit a real sweet spot. The taller fork has set the XC-orientated geometry back enough for it to ride really well downhill, but it still climbs fine. Adding decent wheels and tyres has definitely helped its (and mine) DH ability too (Stan's Flows with UST Nobby Nics).

I've got an image here: but can't seem to embed it in this post: http://pics-by-andrew.fotoblog.org.uk/p61348977.html

Odd, the pics appeared then went. I used the location urls. Oh well. Will try and edit again.
