Mamiya C220. Needs a service as the shutter release is a bit sticky, so not been used in anger yet.

    (R-L) Olympus OM-2 with a 50mm, a Canon F3 with a 50mm and my (not really retro) Fuji X-Pro 1.

The Olympus needed a new winding mechanism which was fairly pricey for repair, but both that and the Canon were free, so can’t really complain. The Canon just needed a bit of light servicing and a dent taking out of the lens hood where it had been dropped, but otherwise is in fantastic condition. Bloody bomb proof camera that one.

There’s also a Bronica Zenza in the collection, but finding time (HA!) to actually get out and shoot some stuff has been my biggest challenge. Hopefully that will change in the near future, so I can then post up some results.

Mr. Robot. Best thing I’ve watched for ages.

Taboo is also good. Mud, blood, violence and magic, just up my street.

Sitting on my hands rocking back and forth like a madman, waiting for new GOT and House of Cards.

Tries to get into Man in the High Castle, but only done a few episodes. Maybe I need to persevere ?

Not sure about spikes, but Salomon do their Speecross range in kids sizes, and they grip very well in mud. Might be a good place to start.

    whats the liner like?
Slight compression, just a soft lycra.

Soft lycra rather than compression, but really comfy. A lot nicer than mesh liners.

Most comfortable running shorts I’ve ever owned. Would happily buy another pair.

Well made, waterproof, easy to put on and take off, plug into the work PC to charge during the day, and they’re £35.

Have similar 2 mile ish commute, and they’re great.

As above, all entry level Canon/Nikon DSLr’s will be great to start on. Find one in your budget to suit, and go from there.

I’d be wary of buying 2nd hand from Ebay, as you have little to no come back should there be a problem.

I buy 2nd hand camera gear from MPB.com, Wex Photography and Camera Jungle, who are all reputable online dealers.

    Sorry for your loss buddy.

Lost my best friend 2 years ago, but still feel him next to me when I’m out walking. Even now he’s gone, he’s still my dog.

We do the best for them whilst they’re still here, and in all honesty I think they know that. I’m pretty sure he knew just how much you meant to him, as much you knew how much he meant to you.

Greg, I think it’s those big blocks of primary colours, that really makes it stand out. It’s a punchy, bold look, but I love it and it makes me want to stop and look, which in itself is a winning strategy.

The Hasselblad is certainly working it’s magic. Are you using Kodak Portra 400 btw ? I’ve acquired a Bronica Zenza, so doing some research on film types.

Websites looking good as well. Not too fussy, crowded or difficult to navigate. All of which I hate with a passion. Nice and clean and simple, with the pictures being the focus, not the website.

Kiwijohn. I have a Fuji xf 35mm WR f2 lens on the X-pro1. Lovely lens, just need to save up for an 18mm to go with it.

Love your latest work Greg, especially the contrast of the colours between the subject and the backdrop, really grabbed my attention.

Handyman you just discoverd that it’s far better to be a passionate photographer than a technically capable one!

This. Times a MILLION. You can have the best equipment money can buy, and still be a terrible photographer. It is not about what camera you have, it’s what you do with it.

Anyway, rant over. I’ve been learning how to process 35mm film in a dark room this week, and then scanning the negatives to import them into Lighroom.

No, it’s not weird. Lost my dog over a year ago now, and I still miss him. He really was a best friend and a companion.

Some people don’t really ‘get it’, but we had a bond, and losing him was like losing a member of the family.

My consolation was that I treated him the best I could and looked after him properly, after he was dumped out in the cold by someone else, and we literally rescued him.

I can’t have another dog just now due to work/life commitments, so I just fuss every other dog I get to meet. My poor girlfriend knows that she is fighting a losing battle though, and one day there will be more paws over the threshold.
