mate of mine had a whyte 46 and got the alpine link fitted, and the frame bottomed out with the link pushing on the seat tube or something like that anyway it made an awful mess.

i like my hustler, the pretty low bottom bracket and slack head angle make the bike confidence inspiring and it has an endless travel feeling, you can really burst out of corners which i love the most

i don't think it climbs to bad although my pro pedal setting is qiute firm, when i can remember to turn it on

mine comes in at 30lb which is'nt light but my cranks and bottom bracket weigh a ton

    oh and its stiff

i also had a handjob a couple of years ago which was the best hardtail ive ever ridden by a country mile

sold mine a few weeks ago

really quick when pedaling on descents and the flat stuff but can feel twitchy at times, they climb great

the VPP system takes a bit of getting used to and does give you kick from time to time

make sure you shock is set up spot on or it will feel like a bag of shite

if its a small or medium frame you might want to watch you fork dials catching on the downtube

    overall i enjoyed mine

mine was the first orange 5, in fact 3 of us bought them and every one had alignment problems, and as i said they just twisted the rear end which looked aweful on close inspection

as for brake jack it does exist some people just don't notice it

but the differance in a horst link and a single pivot in terms of brake jack is a little more than marketing crap

i too have ridden horst link, vpp, four bar and single pivot and by this i mean owned not just ridden for 10 minutes, and there is a real differance some have positives and negatives obviously, but the orange 5 just did'nt cut it for me.

i had really bad brake jack with my 5

but i did'nt get on with it at all

bottom bracket was too low, a 5" head tube on a small frame is terrible

oh and an uneven rear wheel, in fact my mate sent his back to rectify this and they just twisted the rear end and re-sprayed it

too be honest my XT feel very much like my old magura louise FR's

i also ran a set on both my hardtail and full susser for a couple of years and would definatly give them a go again

i was abig fan of maguras i had a couple of sets of louise FR's i swore by them, but when i went to the BAT version i felt really bad fade on long descents

    trailmoggy

i was unsure about buying them but i've tried hope, magura, avid and they are best brakes ive had even though they look crap

the modulation is they key for as i'm not very heavy but lever feel, bite point, power, they just feel spot on

i was a magura fan until the set of louise bat ones kept fading really bad

Cullen-bay you really are a tit

perhaps we ar'nt all brought up with a silver spoon up our arses

were i live a lot of people join up there are'nt ,many jobs crime rate is pretty high so a lot of these lads have bad homes or zero prospects, so too me credit to them for wanting to do something with there lives.

so we carry on sending young lads to slaughter UNPREDARED, for a so-called war that we can little afford win let alone win.

a lot of my freinds joined the army as i come from (what is called) a deprived area, one has died, one shot in the arse and another has done months in sellyoak after bein done by a land mine, who has just on the road to recovery and just found out he has to go back.
