Sorry to hijack but does anyone remember an article regarding water from a few years back? If I recall it was a ride in the lakes with 3 or 4 tarns featured (Sprinkling, Angle……..) tried in vain to search on here but no joy, and same as the OP most of my older mags are up in the attic!

Have you read Sannys article in the new mag? Scar fell, Skiddaw AND Helvellyn (well almost) in a day! Would love to have a crack at that but reckon I’ll need a good years worth of training going on my current fitness levels!

I did it about 18 months ago, started up on my own. Left on good terms and within weeks was being asked to do work for them again. I now charge them double what they used to pay me. Sometimes just taking that leap of faith can really pay off.

Forgot to set the alarm and by 6:38 the ard rock enduro tickets were gone. Managed to get tickets for the enduro sport race on the Sunday though so not a complete disaster! Looking forward to it now.

I’m also in a similar situation, am planning a new build for later in the year but in the meantime was looking to Ditch my 150 32 fit (9mm qr) for something a bit beefier. Biggest restriction is the 11/8″ steerer on my 575, can you get new pikes or 34’s with straight steerers?

Tweeks had a delivery of MIPS last week, picked up mine on Friday and really happy with it. Took it out for a blast round CYB on Sunday, with and without chin bar and was very impressed! Not as warm as I thought it was going to be with it on either. Size wise I’m normally a small/med, went for the med which seemed perfect (no idea how big my actual head is though sorry.) Went for the red as the white & black versions seemed a little dull, however – it is actually more orangey in colour (salmon pink one person said!)

Any tips for posting pics from the Flikr app to here using my iPhone??

Have read through this thread with interest as although I dont really have the most stressful job in the world – site based electrical engineer contracted to a large well-known cereal producer with a small team (3-8 depending on workload) under me – I never ever wanted to spend my days working in a factory (been there 4years now) and have spent more than enough years working away from home which is the alternative within my current company to know thats not what I want either (although I did enjoy the two years I spent in aviemore :D )
While I dont particularly hate my job, I just dont find any fulfillment in it and today had my final medical assessment to join the fire service (part time) which will hopefully be enough to cover our small mortgage and
bills and allow me to go self employed and let me do more of the things I want to do (Ride bikes!) I also completed my level 3 Mias mountain bike leader award last year and possibly have the opportunity of doing some guiding around our little corner of Wales. Am genuinely looking forward to where this year takes me!

I have a 2009 575 with the carbon seat stay bonded into alloy chainstay, been an absolutely superb bike with the only issue being a cracked dog bone link. No issues pedaling on all dayers and blasts down the hills!

Gonna have to stick another hand up for The War On Drugs, under the pressure and eyes to the wind being the standout tracks for me. So much stuff over the last couple of pages that I’m going to try and get my head into!
