Nope – it’s me trying to understand why it happened, so I can reduce the risk of it happening again – that’s not a difficult concept if you stop & think about it for a moment. Anyway I never said someone else fitted it wrongly, did I?

Sheesh, it was only a question…..

It won’t make any difference on a dry road, or a wet road for that matter.

Is this you trying to apportion blame for somebody fitting tyres the wrong way round by any chance ?

Who on earth in their right mind would plug in a £70 chip off ebay into an ECU that took years of R&D and millions to develop ?

As above, get a proper remap if you want it to not blow up or cause issues, the best for T5 are Pendle:

And idea of size may be an idea, but the OMM 24 is the most comfortable pack i use for running other then a Salomon SLAB vest which you won’t want.

As above, bags of clearance with a 33, not convinced there would be as much as suggested with a 40 as one tyre from the next are never the same.

I did a very muddy race on mine and it did start to clog badly but it was very sticky and grassy

To be honest, I’m more wondering why one earth you’re wearing 4 season boots for a stroll in the sunshine, I’d have been in trainers.

I’m with you on that one, fell shoes for me unless I’m climbing…..

I though it was a very poor evening, highlights were the young lad and Martyn Ashton, agree Martyn should host next year, time for a change, sorry Ed it just didn’t work.

The films were generally rubbish, the Q&A’s dull and unstructured, poor sound levels, mics not working, the frame rate on Danny M film kept dropping too, the most promising looking film was the Helvellyn one that stopped half way through.

The D***s that were shouting and heckling should have been shown the door early on and paying £18 a ticket to watch people taste beer was a joke, Ed didn’t actually move it on, one of the Kendal MF staff prompted them to move on from that particular disaster.

I won’t be back as im sure others wont be either…….

i reckon a machined in 17mm bolt head that you could put a socket onto would make removal easy.

Or the 6mm Hex key hole they have ?

Lightening strike hit our data centre last night. Lots of geeks presumably rushing around to kick start the hamsters. Lots of staff around the country using up their smartphone data allowance…

Not a very well designed DC then….

The forums suggested above are a good start for a template letter, I had a similar situation coming back from France the other year at Stafford services heading back up north, i wrote a very polite email to Moto the owners of the services (its them that you are in contract with for parking, not the other lot) highlighting the motorway matrix’s were suggesting take a break if i was tired, i had bought food at their establishment and filled up with £100 of diesel, they contacted the parking enforcement lot and got it dropped.

PM me if you like and i will see if I can find copy of the email i sent them, will be worth a go for sure.

    I find bibs very uncomfortable,

In what way ? Best advice i had on bibs from those helpful chaps at Prendas was buy on height not waist, if the bibs are too long then they will be uncomfortable, i went from normally buying an L/XL in various makes to a M Santini and they are perfect.

Thermoball owner here, I love mine, worn it as an insulation layer skiing, over the top insulation layer on cold hill days and a general casual jacket.

I rate it better than down, seems to warm up quicker and of course no issues if it does get damp, the hybrid one is pretty good too.

Anyone done a T5 with canbus? Ebay had the stalk for c£100 I think but fitting put me off.

The garage fitted mine when I bought it, it does need programming to enable it so stalk so only half the job, it also depends on what you have and haven’t got fitted such as electric Windows etc as the loom needs to be there, have a look here for options:

Is it exactly the same, or is it a cheap copy?

    They do look really nice

Well if its a cheap copy its a good one, its a really solid very good copy, I have no complaints for £40, its better than my £80 Manfrotto was.

Amazon have loads all exactly the same specs design and weight etc. but vary from £20 to £140, order both and be the judge yourself…..

If you do a search there is a guy comparing the copy to the original(s), the differences are minimal.

    I fancy one of these:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261907006457?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The one I linked to above is exactly the same minus the brand name and is half the price.

Mine has been faultless in over ten years of use (a Calumet own-brand one on my Manfrotto tripod) – I don’t know why you think they are (unless you have used crap ones).

Mine was a Manfrotto one and went wobbly in the end and wouldn’t clamp, I replaced it with a £15 ball head from eBay and it’s 100% better, much more flexible.

As for quick release then its worth looking for an Arca-Swiss compatible one rather than a proprietary one.

Yup, a regurgitated UKC post, MRT didn’t even turn out.

Whoever wrote that story by piecing together the story from the post hasn’t even bothered to check what the real names of kit are, recommended you take poles and an ice pick, erm OK…..

Then they just tag on the bottom three other deaths just for the hell of it, idiots…..

Just for a bit of alternative news, call outs to deal with MTB incidents up 185 percent across Cumbria…..

Not sure I am confident about a spaniel being left all day sleeping though – everything I have read says that even the show ones need good walks and mental stimulation.

Once they are mature and settled they are fine, I worked from home for a year when he was younger and never saw him all day apart from a visit every now and then for a fuss, the Mrs works from home regularly and he just sleeps at her feet all day.

As above, Cockers will be equally happy doing nothing or going mental when they get outside, they are an ace breed.

Spaniel!!! Just go and get a Cocker and spoil it like you would do any other dog. They’ll never turn down love and fuss and are awesome dogs for when you do want to go for a walk.

Second that, Cockers will be quite happy sleeping all day or going out for an all day walk.

Also what the hell is a Cavachon, is that one of these designer cross breeds ?

It can’t because (AIUI) the RAW file has a header that says “I am a Pentax XYZ” and then PS (well, ACR) knows that to decode the file it needs to look in byte 12 for the first RED value, 16 for the first GREEN, or whatever (I just made that up).

If the Pentax ZZZ is a newer camera, ACR doesn’t know where to look for the data. Maybe (speculation) it will guess that ZZZ is the same as XYZ, but you aren’t guaranteed of that.

Exactly, Olympus RAW (ORF) out of the EM-10 were not supported in LR3, they are in LR6, it imports these and converts to native LR format for editing.

    You can check support here:

First point wouldn’t worry me, RAW formats are standard (maybe things are different at the professional end of the market, but that end is going to be paying for their software whatever). Second point I take, but my original point still stands. Third point… well this is STW. Does CS6 support 29+?!

Erm, no they are not, I had to upgrade from LR3 to LR6 to get RAW support for an Olympus OMD E-M10
