bought it from play £45 – arrived today.

heard about sainos so went to sainos 'central' they had had 10 copies in for each platform and sold out at 7.01 am (they open at 7) sent the mrs to big sainos where she got the second to last one in the shop!

    so now have two copies.

    play are having theirs back…

those forks do not look well proportioned. the front view looks very tall/skinny.

im a tall fella myself, so sadly end up riding a few gates, but being SS and slim tubed, this is gatey as ****.

    admit it!

scottegg is on the money. a lot of those bikes look ROUGH. the lapierre is nicest IMO.

which is worrying given that im not mad keen on pure xc hardtails…

    say something like.

'i have to say that job x is so appealing that this question is almost irrelevant to me, but the wife will ask me when i return home, so could you tell me how much i will be paid?'

or something. charm them a bit is my point…

as much as the lad hated me and slated me – as well as the bizarrely aggressive emails…

    he clearly agrees with me!

run truv cranks for a while now. no problems to report. like all 2 piece i think they need properly fitting/bedding onto the axle to make sure there is no play. (i.e when fitting take them on/off a few times) otherwise should be tip top

as above, why does your mrs need a good snow car? she some kind of winter rally specialist? if its that bad keep her indoors.

you're gonna pay him to not leave negative? admitting guilt if you ask me…
if he bought it in error and it was correctly described then eff him!

is he right or wrong though?

if it isnt what he wanted then he's shit out of luck, unless you made out that it was something it wasnt.

if he bought something in error that isnt your problem. if the item is wrong then it is!

so there we have it. in answer to the original question.

    no

    heavier.
    slower.
    crap off road.
    poor fuel economy.
    rubbish load space.
and EVERYONE (except for other 4×4 drivers) will hate you.

i wish i had a commute where i could go off roading each day….

i assume thats why you want a faux 4×4?

    isnt it?

    wincobank

and quite a few more. don't get a much better CV than that in my opinion…

switch off auto sync on the original laptop. you want 'manually manage my music' then you can manually drag and drop on either machine. (obviously only ONTO the ipod though. cant use it to transfer music from one computer to the other…

on that FS bike… your spine (and consequently a hell of a lot of weight) is pretty much directly over the middle of the back wheel.

i know its ugly as sin etc, but surely sitting that far back must mean it rides like a sack o shite too? i just cant imagine pedalling with my bb 18inches in front of my ass! its like a half recumbent (sp?!)

Grim if there is any kind of bad weather in my humble opinion.
Did an out and back recently, uphill slog, turned round and came back down at 2mph thanks to 50mph head wind full of sleet. Thought my face was going to get torn off…

Plenty of beautiful sheltered rides in a similar location…

ummmm. now im not an expert but no. i just go for anything that gives that 'wrenchy' back of the leg feeling and go from there.

been off the bike for four months after smashing my knee. but was working for me before that!!!

i got my pain from riding bikes that were too small for me out of interest. not getting full elg extension so tightening hams up…

try hamstring stretches. i know it sounds funny, but tight hammies can yank your pelvis down just enough to give you a REALLY sore lower back.

i went to about 4 physios before a rugby playing mate told me to try it. now stretch before and after riding, no problems since. even back on the bmx! weeee!

its all in the pedalling if you're sat down mate, should barely need your arms, they are just there to pop the wheel up, then you pedal/lean to balance it…

umm perhaps not the uni, i struggled to ride with them when i attended. try gravity-slaves forum, that's sheffield based and has a regular (twice weekly) night ride at this time of year.

bit of banter of course but lovely folks.

im always riding (too much time on my hands?) though off injured until about jan (just getting back into road biking) happy to ride with you/introduce you if you like? send me an email or summink.

ha ha NZcol answered my post.

i sort of agree with him (maybe less agressively) i worked in a position where i was a youngun and everyone else was at the baby popping age (all males as it happens)
think i just got generally hacked of with 24/7 baby talk. incessant whining about tiredness and how you'd never understand until you 'try it' one day…
why should i try it? i can see you whining about it! it sounds shit!
totally agree on traffic situation too.

just seemed funny for a 'how fast' kinda thread to watch some lads picking their way down some tech stuff at half an mph with a full set of pads on….

nice that they stayed upright, but pretty dang steady riding!

i nearly couldnt race mega for 2 years in a row, as it was during school holidays, and as a childless youngster (26) i was required to take my holidays at other times of the year.

stamped my little feet at that one i can tell ya. (and raced of course…)

this is fairly unrelated to parking… but I do get annoyed by the whole parenting 24/7 / you wouldnt beleive how hard it is / wait till you try it / hardest thing i've ever done / its a full time job etc. etc.
