Happy to have got over the 1000 mile mark with a week to go.
Thank you Graham for making me do it!
The amazing Chris Bolton has put on 700 miles in a week but seems to do it in really small steps of a couple of miles each.

… but powered by my dark energy bars I could cycle up any hill, if I can find them in the bottom of my rucksack!

Ms TPT would recommend the Butterworth of Abbeydale Road.
I have had the odd job done well at the nearby Edinburgh Bike Co-Op.
The new Evans has some 50% off servicing opening offers – though they do not have a cycle rack at the front or the back – it may be worth cultivating their shiny new mechanicking staff.

Redmires? Wasn’t there something close to there in the news recently?
    No, it was Ringinglow Road.[/url]

Still not got a bike rack outside the Sheffield store.
“Plenty of car parking round the back,” says the big sign at the front.
    I find this odd.

I’ll be using some canal paths that are dusty.

What country are you in? Do you mean muddy?

Ice breaker for your group session:
In late-breaking news, it has been revealed that Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has come forward to claim that he was driving when Chris Huhne’s car was caught speeding on the M11.
His solicitor said Harry was desperate for the three points.

Contaminant content more likely with black plastic trays so they do the stats and think it is easier to not accept. Not sure why, they probably have a portion that gets burnt for the energy content anyway.

Went there on the opening day, it is on my route home from the city centre. A nice enough place with shiny bike things and loads of shiny staff for the first day.
Plenty of parking round the back, for cars.
Q (to shiny staff member): Hi is there a bike rack here?
    A: Errr. Try the front?
Round the front. No bike rack either, a nice sign says plenty of car parking round the back.
Brings bike inside store and space is made by helpful member of staff.
No bike rack? At a bike superstore. 🙁

I have Singletrack trousers, they dry out okay in the office by home time. Not sweaty as such but this may be more dependent on the shorts you wear underneath. I have spare trousers in work so always change out of them when I get in.
Nice selection of pockets. Good enough to wear at a cafe or pub though ones with bouncers might be too posh.

292 miles including the homeward leg of my commute tonight.
Would have been 300 if I hadn’t opted for the train on Monday evening. 😕

There may be specialist help local to you.
Ms TPT lost her mother last November and among others has spoken to a local charity, Cavendish.
No matter how much support, at home or away, there is always some avenue or aspect that may find the right words at the right time that allow you some measure of comfort.

Today I have Aldi wooly touchscreen ones inside some old and trusty Gill waterproof cycling gloves. A good bit of insulation but also cushioning on the icy bumpy trail surfaces. Minus 5 on the way home tonight!

Places compacted by walkers kept turning the front wheel this morning. Wrists began to ache. Virgin snow was much easier. A steady pace was possible. Way home tonight will be a fresh experience, something new every time.

I got Ms TPT a Versalette, multifunction clothing item. A bit like a Buff but as a top. There was some slippage in the delivery times but a nice product when it arrived.
Maybe one day she’ll find an appropriate event to wear it 😕

The follow up for the project seems to have fizzled out: they got the funding for the item, produced it and sold out but didn’t then make a new range or add new colours or finesse the design. May have been burnt by the experience?

    Venice to Paris Bercy, overnight.
Didn’t see much really. Nice double sleeper. Good coffee wake up in the morning. Ate before departure so didn’t use the restaurant car but had plenty of drinks. Very first world civilized.

Wrap it up in the glass and concrete and stainless steel (as it will be anyway) and drop it in a subduction zone on the ocean floor. Gets sucked in to the mantle.
