Bridport/West Bay/Burton Bradstock – good beaches, the odd fossil, Palmers Ales. The odd bit of beach with bluebells and child murderers but that’s fiction.

Well said Alpha, my brother had some former soldiers working with him, the best.

Retroreflective glass microspheres I hear from the supplier, Albedo100, looks like they get them from a Swedish company.
Some oil rather than water based stuff from them too:
    Some other reflective spray paints.

I just do not buy the North Korea threat. Their scientists may help proliferate weapons technology for a price but that couldn’t be stopped by Trident.
Putin, etc. I can see as being a concern but I’d rather have the money spent down a blind alley to go on conventional shiny planes and ships and uniforms. Though how much the Harrier equivalent tech will cost for the carriers would add up quickly.

You had the kid, they come with responsibilities and costs.
If you weren’t ready to bear them why’d you do it?
It isn’t as if this is a surprise.
We had a great holiday in 2011 after GCSEs, finally out of the peak demand.

    [anecdote]
Ms TPT came back from her check up earlier this week. Nurse said there has been a huge surge in the numbers of children diagnosed with Type 1 in Iraq and Syria. War/stress/hormones puzzle.

    Why polish?
If it is anodised won’t polishing take away the coating and just accentuate the surface scratches. Unless you go down into the surface to the depth of the deepest scratch.

    Radiators, and understanding colleagues.
The catastrophic wet days for me have usually coincided with someone being away so I have been able to annex their radiator.

Bonded pair of ADSL here. Still lucky to get 3 mb.
I cycle past a cabinet on the way to work saying “whooshy optical inside”, next one up serving our industrial estate doesn’t. BT strangling the economy?

Backup? Any cloud connection there. Off site solution.

Accounts PC – may need additional isolation measures, regular password change, payments card industry compliance (PCI) is being strengthened.

    Tortoises all the way down!

Fred Hoyle first used the term Big Bang as a derogatory term, he was a proponent of a steady state Universe maybe boosted by black hole/white hole stuff.

What is the cost of FTTP from BT? Work have issues with really slow connection and the local cabinet for the industrial estate isn’t lit up. A fat pipe in would be nice.

There’s the last Tiffany Aching book to come.
I found Raising Steam hard to read thinking he was trying to get a nod to as many characters as he could.
I think his daughter has a production company looking at rights to the books, The Watch as a TV series may happen.
The Troll Bridge is still in post production?

Burgundy stop over for us in late September last year, staying in Dijon.
    Balladins Superieur Marsannay Dijon, Dijon[/url]
Though if you want to avoid tolls I would suggest a route going though Germany and Austria.

Also, look out for theatre coach trips from Sheffield/South Yorkshire that come with accommodation, they usually stay in the City and indicate the bargain spots.

Try a Travelodge or similar in the city rather than up West. Less demand at weekends as everything is shut.

I paid for an eye test at Boots, they take nice shots of the back of your eye now, cool. I need strong-ish -4 lenses but nothing for reading.
I then went to speckyfoureyes.co.uk for some no logo frameless specs for a good price.
Varifocal is a different story, bonkers prices.

The Sheffield Edinburgh Bike Co-op store has tubeless kit on their shelves. Cannot see why the Newcastle store wouldn’t either…

+1 jam bo, that next to last paragraph says there is a corrosion problem, though I am sure it is a an oxide layer rather than silicate layer as they say. Off to look up the Al to Fe galvanic gap.

The City and The City by Mieville was a good read. UnLundun ok-ish.

I think the Charity status hasn’t changed the campaigning end of things. They may get a financial boost from gift aid as a charity and be more accountable through reporting to the Charity Commission.
I too have my CTC subs reminder to get round to paying – or at least finding on my desk…

Thin tyres in this morning’s commute, lots of snow off the main roads. On the TPT, crossing other folks wheel tracks was like crossing tram tracks. OK through untouched snow or joining the dots of animal tracks.
Got a good slushing from truck as it overtook me, all down my right hand side.
Route home choices? Snow/sleet still coming down.
