1000kg tonnes. We’re a European organisation, metric all the way.

Don’t know volume only weight, and that’s accurate as I’m charged by weight. I tried working out the volume once to compare to Olympic swimming pools but it was too back of a fag packet.

    Like the people one.

It’s for work. I like the buses. They don’t grow and given its litter form the marine environment I might have too many knowledgeable people critiquing the whale comparisons.

Is that a reliable bus weight?

My job isn’t safe enough to stay put for the next x years. The good lady doesn’t mind how much I earn as long as I cover household bills plus a bit extra (as I just about do now) and once the boys start school (18 months) the amount I earn is slightly less important.

I sit all day in an office on my own which doesn’t stretch the grey matter. I guess its the routine I’m most sick off. Hopefully I’ll join those that have changed, and enjoyed it, in the coming weeks/months.

Really I need a small lottery win so I can live life like Stoner & Mcmoonter.

I thought I might not be alone.

I think David Milliband is a step ahead. He has the new job.

Don’t get me wrong I am grateful to have the job and I enjoy the environmental sector but there is no progression/training here and after four and half years it’s time to move. I have one part time possibility in the pipeline and I need to figure out how to fill the other part if it happens. I have also put in an application in this week with another two to potentially fill in during the coming week if the wife approves (one would need relocation).

Given I live in Aberdeenshire I really need to make myself employable by the oil industry.

    Primal Scream and Rocks.

Wasn’t that useful last night on the train. I refused to find a tune I was in the mood for.

    Does that work?

Have a look at the ASPC website. It covers many letting agencies.

Ardoe house has a gym/pool. Just out of town. Not sure on the price though but should think they could be negotiated down

The Salamon xcr 3d do funny things to my little toes so I shall discount them. Don’t like the fact that the Merrell shoes seem to say Merrel all over them. Meindl look good if anywhere local does the wide fit and, should I be somewhere with a choice of shops in the near future, I’ll see if I can find some asics to look at.

Write to your MP. Write to the consumer money columns that appear in various papers and of course write (formal complaint)to HMRC. Writing is always more effective that phone calls in these situations.

It kind of depends where its hurting. I always had calf issues. Had been told to wear neutral shoes but should have been wearing slightlt supportive shoes. As a reult of wearing neutral shoes my foot was rolling too much (inwards) and stretching the outside of the calves. Physio fixed the muscles and pointed me in the right direction.

If you want West Coast then Oban. Plenty to do with kids and proper mountains and various boat trips plus the option of island visits on the ferries. Non of the rounded Cairngorm variety (and I live by them -they’re just not the same). If the weather was a bit better over there I’d move back to the area.

I would leave it until April/May when the weather improves and perhaps even then that would be a bit early. You don’t want to put him off.

Thanks all. I get very few benefits at the minute as I’m a project worker, sick pay is the only perk and I’m lucky if that’s two days a year. I wouldn’t be working for the same employer so there’s no issue there.

I’m up in the NE so best look for a local accountant but thanks for the offer.

Looks like I’ll have some reading to do over the weekend and a look at some online bookshops.

If my wife heads down a similar route are we best as two sole traders or a single entity? One for the accountants I guess.

So should we just let him build number two as he wishes or demand that he builds it acknowledging various environmental designations and design a world-class the course that is sympathetic to its surroundings?

re: An inquiry, Salmond is making a habit of making poor decisions that have no basis in fact. They just tend to suit his Spin and his consultancy opportunities once his retirement arrives. If an inquiry reins in his loose mouth then thats no bad thing.

b r – How is a golf course and associated infrastructure of national importance? Good for the economy yes but of regional importance?

My issue isn’t necessarily the courses existence but the way it happened. The course in Machrihanish is a fine expample of how to create a golf course in such a setting and take into consideration environmental concerns/designations. But Trump refused to work in such a manner and instead abused the system.

It was more than one Councillor. The committee was split and the chair took the deciding vote and the application was rejected (a process called democracy). The chair was then targeted by the pro Trump group.

I’m struggling to identify my favourite painting, while not technically the best one of the most memorable I’ve seen is the panorama Mesdag in The Hague.

Two days on a building site. I lasted longer on other sites but this particular site were asking me to clean tar of windows with petrol up a ladder. Didn’t fancy it.

My longest job is my current job at over four years but its definitely time for a change, too much time at a desk on my own.

Right then, I’ve got some software and will take some pictures this weekend with the wife’s camera. If the results are any good I might even post one up here. The bar has been set high though…

I’m on a Mac. I think that counts ICE out? Whatever I use needs to be idiot friendly too. While I can take a picture occasionally my computing skills could be worked on.

I always tended towards normal ratios but I now find myself living on the edge of the Cairngorms and I think the landscape would really lend itself to the wider aspect.

Great pictures guys. I’m feeling inspired and lucky to be living in Scotland. Are sony the only ones to do it in camera. I assume the image can be tweaked on the computer if needed.

    Cheers,

How do you achieve pivoting through the centrepoint of the lense rather than the point where the camera attaches to the tripod? Are good compact cameras up to the job or should I save up for a compact system camera such as the canon EOS M? I enjoy photography and can use a camera in its manual settings but can’t justify the cost of digital SLR.

I stuck my foot out to stabilise myself as I stalled coming out of a bomb hole in May and twisted it. Still having physio now. I’m told I might be running again by Christmas. I was hardly moving.

It depends on the jacket. I have an old large one that is on the big side for me and a new Large Velum (it is described as close fitting) that I wouldn’t want any smaller. Short answer…It depends on the cut. 5’10” and about 41″ chest if that helps.
