Had 2 (1 S/S, 1 geared 853), for the money they’re ace. Had the S/S frame custom painted (orange, before it was fashionable), popped RC31’s on it and a 34/17 set up. Loved it to bits but convinced myself that I needed a F/S and sold it to fund the purchase. Biggest cycling mistake I ever made. 🙁 😳

Went to Thassos last year………….going back again this year!
    Beautiful, quiet and green.
Going to chase this lot up, this time – http://www.mtb-thassos.com/………missus permitting. 😐

Used to know a lad that served in NI with the “funnies” – always said Adams was up to his neck in blood. In mitigation (sort of) it appears that said “funnies” weren’t that much better, in light of recent evidence.

CAAD10 105 in a 58 is a bargain and the best alloy frame money can buy.

I have one of these and bought it in preference to a SuperSix 105. The CAAD 10 frame is brilliant.

A bunch of those military fitness types being ordered to do press-ups mid 06:30 run……….not odd, in itself but when an overly friendly labrador started humping “the fat lad at the back”, things became “odd” for him.

Check the date on the story!

    Aye. It’s already happened.

Good result. See, it pays to take these tools to task rather than shrugging it off as an “occupational” hazard of cycling – Illegitimi non carborundum

Ooh, let us know how it turns out, K57. Even if the plods just pop round to “have a word”, his impending MI might just arrive a little sooner. 😈

Memorial run? Maybe we should have Worland Day every year. The bloke touched so many peoples biking lives,in one way or another, it would seem unreasonable not to.

Can’t see me “needing” a new bike for a couple of years (can I say that??!?) but if I can sideline some cash from the final salary pension lump sum (for the benefit of Kryton57 😉 ) it’d probably be this –

Ooh, that’ll do! Been running Purgs/GC combo on the obsolete big wheeler and am well impressed, so I’ll have some more, thank you, please. 🙂

Just started using Squirt on the road bikes – brilliant stuff.
May use it on the MTB in the summer but while there’s gloop around, I’ll stick (ha!) with FL Wet.

New to me but this evening, in the supermarket, I saw a chap in shorts, flip-flops, wearing a,heavy, sweatshirt under a down gillet and a scarf. Mrs Sox had to drag me away……… 👿

Do you “celebrate” it even if you aren’t remotely Irish?

About as much as I celebrate St Georges day, so no. (Maternal Grandfather was Oirish).

37mph (straight) road descent, was blown from one side of the road to t’other. Just managed to wrangle the bike round before an involuntary hedge/self interface. Numerous wind assisted, involuntary, sideways bunnyhops on rest of ride. Up to 45mph gusts of head/side winds. Strangely, I found it quite a laugh……………..afterwards. 😐

Mid to top range DHB stuff for me. The roubaix ones have been a revelation this winter.

Ahhhh, most of it’ll go with the new pension contributions. 🙁

Quite happy with my bikes atm, although a drivetrain upgrade on the winter/commuter roadie may be in order………………….and some lighter wheels for the MTB.

Rule# twelftyeleven – anyone found replacing disc pads/cassettes/chains in the carpark, immediately prior to a ride is automatically excluded from the ride, tarred and feathered.

Shortly to be moving to the Keswick area for similar reasons to OP, apart from the surf stuff but the coast is only a short drive away. Failing that it’s Cracoe

At last thats you off my patch

I’ve got an old Easton post that you could have (think it’s a 330mm E30) – it’s lost a bit of anodising but is otherwise OK. Fly in ointment is that I’m in Leeds…… 😐

Only Schwalbe tyres I’ve used and not liked were some OEM Rocket Rons. Made of Bakerlite, they were. Ran a set of Elixir 5’s for over a year with no problems. Never got on with Hope brakes. Love Shimano brakes and drivetrains. Don’t like SRAM drivetrains, road or MTB. Currently a Cannondale fanboy with 2 road bikes and a 29er.
