Surprised for the reccomendations for M&S mentioning tall and long legged as they don’t tend to do trousers longer than 33″ inside leg

You can order 35″ inside leg – usually takes 3 or 4 days to come through.

Like Dalby etc on the fire roads, you can be touching 80 on a lot of sections

    80 on a fireroad eh? That’s amazing.
That’ll be kmph, though, not mph.80 mph would be a tad unrealistic…. 😉

It would be interesting to see if there is an increase in hospital admissions of cyclists, secondary to RTA’s from aggressive driving, next Thursday.

6’2″, 34″inside leg – 58cm CAAD10 – fits fine (after adding a couple of spacers and tweaking bar position). Brilliant, comfy, fast bike.

*Edit* The 60cm should be fine for you.

It’s a diesel, yeah? Could be something as simple as a dirty fuel filter………………….or the injectors are buggered (£££££££££’s).

Usually give a nod, if eye contact is made, but during a commute, in particular, I’m concentrating so much on being not, almost, murdered to death, by traffic, that I don’t/can’t acknowledge everyone.
I’m reeeeeally sorry if I’ve upset anyone by this crass behaviour.

What is the point of it?

I used to think that. Just been out to see Daughter No:1 in the Kalahari desert (she’s a research zoologist) ….by God I’d have loved to have taken one for that terrain!(Also saw the point of owning a 4×4 for the first time too. Very enlightening trip.)

Always have it through work (NHS) – it’s put on your records if you don’t take up the, not mandatory, offer, though. I can’t imagine why….. 😐

Me and Mrs Soks keep talking about this sort of, out-of-our-comfort-zone, idea. We keep wussing out, though. *What about the pensions, last offspring at Uni, elderly parents, price of fish*

Never been fast or, particularly, skillful but just enjoy being on a bike. Currently in a similar position with “getting out” on the MTB (damn that road bike and/or weather) but after a couple of rides, in a week, the mojo certainly does return. Don’t worry, enjoy. 🙂

    or

…..or a Garmin 800,but will settle for some merino base layers and socks. A decent set of winter bib longs/three quaters wouldn’t go amiss either.

I didn’t even know BM was still in existence? I thought it was a early-mind 00’s ting.

Oh, it’s still there, just. It’s a bit like the Prefects Common Room at a (very) minor public school…………in the school holidays.

*shudders* Steepish drop onto a single railway sleeper bridge over a stream followed by steepish climb out over RootWorld ™. Got over the bridge, pulled on the bars to lift front wheel over big root and….backflipped! Finished upside down with head almost at right angles between 2 rocks in the stream – thought I’d broken my frickin’ neck – turned out it was very badly sprained. This happened on an off road detour on the commute to work – I was on my own and it was about 7am. Took me a good 15mins to get upright and then gently pootle into work (hospital, luckily) -> straight to A/E after locking bike up.
I’ve never been so bloody scared.
Best bit was when the A/E consultant asked me when I’d cracked the vertebrae in my neck as there was an “old” injury on the X-ray – Er, what cracked vertebrae?????? 😯

Mike Davis leaving saw the start of BM’s demise, imo. The Kidderminster Clown was, initially, amusing but turned into a very disturb(ing/ed) individual. The redesign, which locked out a large number of people, was the final nail for many. I still post but it’s becoming less frequent which makes me a wee bit sad as there is/were some good people over there. 😐
