Just bake from a week with the amazing folks at bike verbier. Was my first Alps trip and I’m still grinning like a loon, even after two days in the office 🙂

We visited Pila and I have to agree, the Aosta track is completely amazing, loads of lines, drops & jumps – definitely something for everyone there. Fully recommended!

I’ve got one, I like it. Stiff, but not harsh IMHO.

Wobbliscott – I’m in Surrey, so not much good I’m afraid – but thanks for the offer

Wobbiliscott – sounds similar to something I’m planning – where in the country are you to get that quote?

I posted this on the other thread too. Special edition colour, one of only three in the country according to the importer 8) I’d say it ticks all the boxes. The picture doesn’t really do it justice, orange with blue bits (bars, pedals, hubs etc) looks absolutely pimp. Only been out on it a couple of times so far, but it rides pretty nicely too 😀

Knolly? Chilcotin or Endorphin with a 160mm fork?

Go on then, been in my grubby little mitts a week and I love it. Team Orange special edition. The white balance on this photo is a bit off, it’s brighter than this!

Knolly Chilcotin (XL Team Orange)
CCDB Air
Fox 36 Float
Pro2 Evo (blue)/Flow EX

Hibbard was out cold from the scrum engagement (his arms go floppy)- looks like a head clash with the Aus hooker

That could explain it, Moore looks a bit floppy as they disengage too

Well it *looks* like he got slotted. But there’s no way the rest of the pack wouldn’t have seen/heard the shot and piled in on Moore…

My guess is Lydiate is in to provide the dog we lose with O’Connell’s injury. We lose a little in the lineout though, and pace out wide. Worried about Vunipola starting, he has to get the serums bang on from the start before thinking about the big carries.

The pack seems less balanced this week, carrying a weak(er) scrummager and a lighter lock means we lose athleticism in the back row, but the Aussies have more dangerous broken field runners on the pitch from the first whistle, which could expose a slower back row. let’s hope our rock blunts their scissors…

Having Bowe back is a big plus, but I’d never drop Phillips from the 23

I’d be surprised, the tapered region of the fork is longer than the bottom cup of the headset, I can’t see how it would work, though I’m far from an expert and would happily stand corrected

Chumba HX1 first proper ride Tuesday night – very stiff and responsive compared to my old Rockhopper. Looks lovely too, IMHO

If you’re learning for the sake of it and with a view do doing anything in a professional capcity, you’ll need to learn Javascript, and more than just JQuery – take a look at the new MV* frame works – Backbone, Ember, Angular etc.

You’ll learn a lot from looking at Twitter Bootstrap which is effectively all you need to know to put together your own custom, responsive site.

Winning by a drop goal or penalty wouldn’t gloss over the poor performance.

You didnt say that when it won you a World Cup
1. Quality of the performance only matters as a barometer for the test side. Everyone agrees that this side has little or no relevance to the test side so the quality of performance doesn’t matter. Being seen to nick one and stick two fingers up at the felons in canary yellow would be great for squad morale though.

2. Finals (and series) are always about the results. end of.

If you already have Sky, try the sky go app with on demand?

Yeah, heaslip not doing it for me. I’d go SOB at 8, Croft and Warbs. Bit of extra bosh to add to Croft’s pace and lineout (which will be crucial – the last series here came down to one sneaky elbow and a couple of stolen lineouts, I see nothing to suggest this one will be any different)

I run strava on cyanogen mod 9.x and 10 nightly just fine. Mind you, my battery connection is a bit temperamental, sometimes find the phone (HTC Sensation) powered off after a particularly bumpy segment…. Good excuse to upgrade 🙂

this could be nonsense, but I’ve heard that running tubless removes friction between tyre and tube, so decreasing rolling resistance, as well as any weight saving. Will try and dig out a supporting link when I have time…

Park at the NT cafe, head up the main path toward Gibbet Hill. All the DH tracks are off to the right. There is a new bike shop just before you get to the NT car park, I’m sure they’ll be able to point you in the right direction…

Actually, i’m looking at RC2… Having said that, I’m not looking at retail. I’ve ordered a frame and build kit, but the distributor has just come back and said tapered RC2 are not available. I’m curious though who has them available, maybe my guy can get something worked out with them

Excellent stuff, thanks all. Just ordered a triple and will remove inner and outer rings – may/may not fit a bash or single ring specific once I’ve ridden it a bit.

I did it a couple of weeks ago to a 2012 set I’d got from Merlin. Opened them up for a service, saw the spacer and thought I’d give myself an upgrade 🙂

the spare parts catalog (pg 31-32) has a good exploded view to show you where the spacer is and this manual will walk you through it. Note you’ll need a deep drive socket if you’ve got 2012 (perhaps 11) version and the 2013 model can’t be adjusted.

@Harry_the_Spider I wanted to play with heroku and twitter, this seemed quick and easy, if people find it useful, great. If not I’ve learned some stuff. (Also twitter clients are better than RSS clients)

@Bez – yep. It’s Java I’ll make it less hacky and put on github in next couple of days.

@mikewsmith maybe, would be easy to do, as separate account. you want?

@will thanks 🙂

You want me to take the usernames out of the twitter posts? No probs, just say so. will take 10 minutes.

the point of an RSS (commonly taken to mean Really Simple Syndication) feed as provided by the forum software (and what I use to get the posts) is to syndicate the content to other outlets. I don’t think I’m doing anything that is against the spirit of the data provided.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Does the extension bar some how fit around the ait valve and damper control knob, or do they come off some how first?

Anyone got a link to the bits I need?
