How about riding, walking, climbing etc  in Reunion (sp?) followed by beach at Mauritius or Seychelles?

    Or… Whistler opens while you’ll be away…

Or… Seek out ridgeline and go for a ride…

They’re acting as a travel agent. The story is that the hotel is refusing to honour the fixed price arrangements they have with the operator, which is the bit that’s fishy. Although the hotel is outside the EU so I guess they can pull all kinds of stunts

My suspicion is that the operator and/or agent are trying to avoid swallowing a big loss on the deal. I also suspect they’re not really allowed to do this. As said elsewhere, what’s the point of a deposit if it doesn’t lock things in?

TBH I’m thinking if the agent and operator are telling the truth I don’t really want to give the hotel my money if they’re going to pull stunts like that on their guests. If the fault is with agent/operator I feel it’s more a case of making them to the right thing.

Yeah, there’s the difficulty, the paperwork has never been sent. My fault, running late and dealing with agents we’ve used before so paid a deposit and walked out with a promise they’d get the paperwork complete and send it through. They’re the kind of place that send things by post so wasn’t unduly worried when it wasn’t in my inbox 30 minutes later.

That being said, I’ve got some dim understanding that there’s a defacto contract once I pay the deposit?

+1 for the Webber. Hot enough to cook in in a couple of minutes with minimal faff. Great for a ninja grill when the sun’s out midweek and you want to get a ride in as well.

Actually, it’s for sale in Hampshire. Please no links to potential adverts, just in case the W⚓s have half way decent google-fu

EDIT: anyone have a number to speak to a real person in Hampshire Police that might be interested is resolving this?

Will you fit a Large of XL? Orange Clockwork has all your bases covered.

    Isn’t convict the shorty/Mary alike?

Either way, I’ve got a convict 2.5 and vigilante 2.3 Front/Rear on my HT. Vigilante is better than the Hans dampf on the back of the FS. Not sure whether to switch FS for DHF/DHR or the WTB combo next.

Aren’t cotic and Staton both made in the far east? I seem to remember Stanton upped their prices after brexit because of exchange rate shocks?

But there’s a rapha cafe on brewer st.

Shame as it was a great shop, hope everyone involved is OK – “personal reasons” is always ominous in my book!

Top tip, if you take the newest cheeky DH trails to the left of gibbet, accessable from the quiet lane that cross the footpath over the A3 tunnel the climb out is pretty solid all year (minus the small but deep bog where said footpath meets the quiet lane)

Bonus points because the stuff below the footpath is hilariously off-camber, rooty, damp yet soft and accomodating for the inevitable low-down

As above really, I’ve got a mega route that takes in blackdown, gibbet, punchbowl, golden valley and waggoner’s/bramshott. It does take steeper trails, including some of the DH at gibbet, but nothing too crazy.

It’s a 45k/1400m loop – PM me if you want the GPX.

There’s a few local riders on here, Tuesday night ride and Saturday mornings are the usual formula, again PM if you want to join and I’ll pass along details.

Stealth add alert, I’ve got an 18″, 26er slackline frame looking for a good home…

Well, with some creative accounting 1/1.

The new 650fs is ready to go, but there’s a HT frame in the stand getting built at the moment and 26fs & 26ht frames in the corner that have given up enough parts to their replacements I don’t really consider them bikes, just frames to move on…

    surprisingly cheap

You could try hindhead & follow your nose, there’s everything from cheeky DH trails to long XC stuff out to hankley and thursley commons, mostly sand or loam, so other than occasional big pots it’ll be pretty dry.

Could be that they’ve sent an MMS rather than SMS and her phone isn’t configured properly to open them? Would those contacts be likely to be messaging the same group? (eg. Family, work colleagues, club members)

Massive fan of the camera work, and the following quibbles won’t stop me watching every second of it.

I do wish that there was more factual content and less anthropomorphism, earlier shows like Life on Earth were much more like a science lesson and better for it IMHO. The 10 minutes at the end given over to a “making of” documentary which is presumably stitched together into the 6th/8th episode on ad-supported TV makes me a bit sad as well.

But those Giant Trevally and the false killer whale/dolphin interactions… mind blowing!

Had one since August. Smooth action, perfectly reliable so far. I’d say it’s return speed is more tunable with air pressure than the KS Lev and reverbs it’s replaced. The remote is a rebranded wolftooth and it’s better than anything else I’ve tried.

Mine is 175mm drop, I don’t notice any flex or complaints at my weight (105kg without kit), which I guess is an endorsement!

Anecdotally I’ve heard that the RF post has a higher failure rate than the 9point8 (RF licensed the design from 9point8). This is allegedly because the design has been modified to reduce costs…

(I have a 9point8 and it’s behaving perfectly so far. 175mm drop is nice too)

I’ve had a 5 since August, great bit of kit.

Battery life is good. heart rate monitor is reasonably accurate, but be sure to do the strap up nice and tight during exercise otherwise it’ll be all over the place.

Software works well, in particular it’s been easy to get it hooked up to Strava and grab my weight from Fitbit scales.

I’ve found the smart watch stuff useful as well, which is a surprise (and has relegated my nice automatic watch to the bedside table 90% of time)

I’ve managed a payment of +£500 using android pay – much to the surprise of everyone involved!

IIRC the limit on android and Apple pay is £1000

I use it all the time!

V90, yep. There’s a plugin hybrid T8 due at some point I think. But they market it as the top performance model, not sure how that’ll work on company scheme.

Much more realxing drive than the Germans, with all the sporting pretentions they’re like driving a death star, while the Volvo is more like driving a piece of interior design.
