Loved it all.
Only disapointment was no Corbie Lynn descent.
also last 4 miles on road were not the most entertaining (especially when there is flowing singletrack that runs parallel to the road)
Overall, course was better than previous years.

I was happy with my 7.5ish hour time for the full distance.

Looking forward to doing it again next weekend

duchess drive is bomb proof, and no amount of rain is going to make it muddy.

the climb from yarrowford red hall to top field is as slippery as a teflon coated weasle after the enduro race over the weekend.
the rest of the minchmoor road climb is hard, if a little overgrown. i'm sure there will be a 6' wide trail by the time i get there.

If they're going to use the endure descent as the above map suggests, it's going to be slippery too, as the enduros were ripping it to shreds saturday and sunday.

also no traquair xc this year? i think not.

The Yair Buzzard in action

I’ve been attacked by the buzzard of Yair Forest, it hit me once and swooped by several other times.

I avoid the area May and June now

St Mary’s Loch to Traquair is a grassy climb followed by a grassy descent.
I’d do Traquair XC from Inners car park to Minchmoor instead of SUW (not much ,longer)
Minchmoor to Selkirk (3 brethern)is great.
3 Brethern to Gala is ok, as is Gala to Melrose and Melrose to Earlston.

Never been any further north tha that

i find it to be great, although it’s a bit of a squeeze to get my commencal mata 4 on due to the short length / shape of the cross bar. You can get an adjustable bar to rit between the head-set and the seat post to solve this problem.
