6hrs 20 for me, and happy with that for full distance.

being a local, i know the route pretty well. portage section wasn’t even that bad. part of me was sad we didn’t get to do caddon bank, but my legs were happy.

i think the first section of single track in elibank needs something. it’s always soaking wet, and by the time i got there it wasn’t fun. maybe a wee bit boardwalk or some big rocks?

the full distance seems to get slightly shorter each year, i wonder if they’ll ever go back to 100k… Pete?

anyway, i had a great day, and the weather was the cherry on the top

i bought the same frame, and it was supplied without the swap-outs too.
a quick call to on-one and they were here next day – without the bolts.
another call and another next day delivery.

    all good… eventually

the guy i spoke to said there were 2 types of bolts, and i had to check whether the holes on the frame were threaded or not. mine were not threaded, so they are just like long chain bolts

i hope so, as it’s £30 for the swap outs, i don’t know how much the hanger is.

not much of a saving if you buy decals too

    i’ll wait and see

The finish is perfect except for one small mark which will be covered by the seat clamp. 16″ frame.

    Yes, I can wait.

I don’t even have a headset for it yet, so it’s not holding up the build.

Was just curious as to whether they should be there

70th for me, and happy with that.

As has been said, big bloke in the orange jacket on the wee hill after the bridge was a ledge, as were the young ones on the boardwalk at the end.

    See you all next year

5 laps for me, although i’m a bit disappointed i didn’t go out for one more – The temptation of a shower and beer was too much.

An over-the-bars moment on one of the freshly cut sections (you know the one with the wooden partition as a step down) on lap 2 meant i lost my bottle there, and didn’t try it again after that. Apart from that, everthing else was rideable. The muddy bit after the auction was great, so much grip in all that mud, unbeleivable.

My last lap was when they changed the route, but only missed out 1 freshly cut section.

Anyway, great support from the marshals, and another good event from Fraser and the crew.

    See you all next year

I got done in February after a transaction to CRC – The only time i’ve used the card in months.

    £30 on O2 Slough 🙁

RBS called me up to confirm it wasn’t me, refunded the money and replaced the card all very quickly.

he has always commented that it would not be one of the usual racer suspects that would complete this first, but that it would be more or a mountain man
