the kid sees this and instinctively plays one off against another – when the dad tries to give any sort of discipline then he goes to his mother, who’ll more often than not say “ignore your dad, he’s just in a bad mood”.

Completely normal kid behaviour. Kids do this to parents, no matter how wonderful or awful those parents are. This is what kids do in search of the answer they want to get.

Snugpak. Their Travelpak 2 is cheaper and packs smaller. They also have a few other bags that would fit your needs.

If you think the drink was spiked it probably was.

    It probably wasn’t.

Spiking may happen but it’s not as common as people think.

    Yup.

If a drink is spiked, the most common thing to spike it with is alcohol. Drink spiking, anywhere in the world, is rare.

If he wants a full bike, then other than the main culprits, Performance Bike is hard to beat. Big name, big purchasing power, good deals.

    Performance Bike

Not full of your niche brands but a source for good VFM bikes.

Given the pros have all been on rim brakes for years, training up to the differences of the NEW brakes will take time. I reckon one or two of the fearless descenders will have been training with them for some of the big mountain stages later this year.

Basically along the lines that if I met her wearing them, it would all get physical v quickly. Her Maj is not so sure.

What? Does she not think you’ll look good in them?

    are there any other options?

    Not using your phone?

Do you actually need it with you all day, every day for data access?

Get the Time Out guide to Vegas. Very informative and gives you a lot of insight into the casino business etc.
7 nights there would send a non-gambler mad. Def get out of Vegas and see something of the area around it.

I’ve retired once already. It wasn’t all it cracked up to be. I’m back working and enjoying it.
Find something you enjoy a bit more.

I wanted a taller bench (go figure) and didn’t have the tools for woodworking back then…….

Piece of old laminate worktop, 2 x lengths of 3×2 glued underneath to prevent bowing, all of it sat on 2 of these:
    Telescopic Trestles

Clear space underneath, custom height, portable for when I moved house.

Trumpmisn’t great but he seems to be more effective than the oppostiton be that Republican or Democrat

More effective at what? Platitudes and speeches without substance? The man hasn’t presented one solid argument for anything, never mind have any concept of policy and diplomacy.

I moved to the US in 2013. Healthcare here is truly mindboggling. Those who can afford to pay do so, and pay handsomely. They get a certain level of convenience, lots of tests and a highly disjointed service. Those who can sort-of afford to pay or can’t get stressed out on whether they can afford to be ill or not.

People should not fear illness on the basis of them not being able to afford treatment. Not in a ‘highly developed Western civilization’.

From this thread I would guess the OP is quite an angry man and also sees himself as a bit of a rebel. Probably plays Guns n Roses in his Audi on his way home from work.

Don’t forget to stop in Tynemouth on the way up there. It’s a nice place with loads of history as well as your choice of places to eat and drink.

Don’t use them off-road, then they won’t annoy your mates. Turn them on again when you get on the road.

So you’re being well paid, month on month off, they give you internet access and yet you think you’ve got it tough because you want to stream stuff and download big files?
If everyone downloaded ‘a few podcasts a week’ that would be a lot of expensive bandwidth.
    :?

you cant do anything involving media, like youtube etc. Not bothered too much about that, but the heavy handed approach also blocks downloading Podcasts, Apps, iTunes etc.

I guess you work somewhere quite remote. If that’s the case, your employer is probably paying quite a bit for that internet access, especially if it’s not wired into the conventional internet. So, they pay for the bandwidth and if you start streaming media and downloading, you’d probably wipe out their monthly allowance in a single week – worse if everyone is using it.
So. You get most of the internet but not the data-heavy bit. If you screw with it, you might lose all of it. I very much doubt whether a VPN would help in this case.
Just download before you go and count all the money they pay you.

As has been said, cost is no measure of a suit. You could spend less than that and have a proper bespoke mid-weight English woolen cloth single breasted suit that would have a proper floating canvas and look great for as long as it held together and fitted you. Fused jackets tend to look crap very quickly and respond badly to dry cleaning and warm weather.
If it looks bad on you now, did it ever really look good on you back then?

Nirvana playing the since-demolished Newcastle Mayfair just as Smells Like Teen Spirit broke in the UK.

A VERY young TooTall was doing his first ‘proper’ stage security gig as the middle man in the barrier that night. Stood right in front of Cobain and watching 50% gig and 50% audience all night. I enjoyed it.

Having an ability to teach and convey information is way more important than outright skillz.
I was a British Cycling Level 2 Coach and currently an IMBA Level 1 Guide (no L2 courses near where I live). Both made me a far better rider and far more able to help others with their riding technique.

andy – those doors are impressively over-designed, over-engineered and over-built for the purpose of being doors.

Congratulations for building the most stw doors I’ve ever seen. Nice job!

Tootall how tall are you please?

I’m 6’7″. Currently riding a 23″ Turner Sultan and a 72cm Cannondale tourer. I plan on getting a tiny 66cm Soma Extra Smoothie and swapping over the components from the Cannondale, just for a more modern frame. 1980’s aluminium frames are a little harsh for this old man!

I hate bikes with enormous head tubes which makes them look like farmyard gates

You shortarses are entitled to your small world view! Us tall chaps are mostly happy if both wheels are on the ground and we can pedal it without contorting. Very few bikes look bad when you’re riding them.

that woman! That woman is disgusting

You have some real anger issues. I can’t tell whether your issues are about the individual, the woman, all American women, all people to the left of the GOP or any other group I’ve missed.

I don’t think PC means what you think it means.

An EPD in the White House doesn’t solve anyone’s problems.

No. But if you’re a disenfranchised blue collar / middle class worker in the US who has seen their perceived quality of life declining over the last 2 decades and someone ‘tells it how it is’ from outside ‘overblown DC’, then you might believe in his rhetoric.

That’s why Trump and Sanders are so appealing to so many. They are not the establishment which, on both sides, appears broken.

add ground coffee and allow to brew for 30-40 mins

Are you sure? Website says 4-8 min. I only checked because waiting 40 min for a brew seemed a l o n g time!

I thought they were meant to rival the taste of a proper machine or am I wrong?

You need to play about with it and with different coffees, but it can give fantastic results that are way better than anything plunged.

About E6 but it MUST be cold

First mention of temperature. VERY important! I used to be ‘cold’ but I’m more ‘just warm enough so the butter doesn’t liquefy’ these days. It’s a fine line.

A non leaking chimney built for an open fire will be , generally though test it, fine with a fire.

Put a big bore exhaust on your car and it will probably be fine as well. Modern stoves are designed and tested to work best with a flue. If building science way back when was what it is now, houses wouldn’t even have been built with open fireplaces, so saying it was fine then does not map directly to now.
Stoves are better than open fires and stoves work best with flue liners.

Was there a ‘charity shop ensembles only’ requirement for the interview?

If brown cords are interview wear, I’d love to see that ‘nice tie’.
