Happy to do the job but snobbish over the product there cinnamon_girl? Double standards, but I guess thats allowed. I might start another thread just to highlight those double standards. That would be amusing.

Seriously – do you have a business plan for this? Commercial insurance, business bank account, financial forecast? Had any training? Got an accountant?

I'm guessing you might not have a robust business plan at this stage.

How can I forget the jeans? There was a geet big bearded loon gibbering at me about them! Your lack of sleep was amusing.

We'll sort out the finances mano e mano at the Dec bike jumble – no worries wee man.

If your car doesn't have the guts to pull the trailer, should it be pulling the trailer? Would 1" make enough difference for the (underpowered?) engine to now cope?

I was hoping for some sort of calculator to work out how old skool your bike was – sort of:

    ski bar-ends + purple ano + sharkfin chainguard = 1990

    or something

One layer kind of commits you to the conditions you expect, I'd rather layer and be able to cope with warmer or coller temperatures.

Thats been disproven in recent tests. Fewer layers that can be better varied (mostly ventilation) are better suited to some activities, including a few high energy ones.

Go to TK Maxx and try a few pairs on. I've had Quiksilver and Adidas pants from there in the past for snowboarding and they were plenty long enough. If you want some nice jey tight ski pants they might not be for you, but they weren't silly baggy.

hah, yeah i have come across them. at one i went to look at the instructor kept on critiscising my kicks, as i refused to do it her way, it was utter rubbish. I cant explain why, but the 'black belts' kicks were like getting tickled. Nothing like a proper muay thai kick…

maaaaaaan – u sounnd like a right ninja – I dunno why you bother with lessons now

I was once Ronald McDonald's bodyguard.

Henry Rollins once bumped into me backstage at a gig and apologised to me.

I'd recommend somewhere like Advance Performance (P'boro and Cambridge) as the sort of 'proper shop' to go to. On the treadmill, filmed from behind, through about 6 different pairs of trainers, down to 3 pairs, ran around the car park in them, different shoes on each foot if you want, then select a pair. All with the support of one of the shop staff. Feet are now properly neutral and the shoes feel great.

    i ride a trek fuel ex9, a scott scale, a planet x jackflash and a bmx.

I couldn't ride a single one of those bikes, so I ride something different. Does that make me wrong?

Some bikes aren't wrong – they are different and do things in a different way for someone who likes the way they ride – which might not be plush 120mm trvel front and rear. Not everyone wants several bikes for each occasion, not everyone wants to pump it. Henve how single speed, rigid, 26er, 29er, bmx etc exist. Sweep bars really suit some people and mixing up components can work out as things change – eg flat bars for DH.

Just as well we worked this out for ourselves before yesterday.

It looks different so I don't like it.

What a fine stance to take. What do you haters ride then? Something the same as everyone else? Ride the trail centres with everyone else?

oxy – I have the bike set up for me at 6'7" with a long seat post and riser bars, but it could be made to fit someone shorter – but 6' would probably be a minimum for that bike. Thanks for the 5 Spot offer – I have a different full sus in mind for my future.

Given your employer doesn't have to give you time off for training, you'd have to use your own leave for such things.
How do your family feel about that? Your willingness to spend quite a bit of your own time working away from them? The very high possibility of deployment on ops?
I'm just highlighting some of the big bits to think about for what is an excellent way to spend your time – but it is a big commitment.

Cheap, functional and the same 3 Valleys area the people in posher resorts pay 3 times the price to stay somewhere 'nicer'. I was never one for apres ski and a bunch of us got the first and last lifts every day and hammered the slopes. Lifts link the areas well and you can get right up in the 3 V area very quickly and indeed explore totally different valleys for the whole day. Ugly as sin, but do you want to spend your time admiring architecture or sliding down hills?
La Masse is a great and underused area – we found some brilliant mixed runs over there.

Check whether it covers residing in a foreign country rather than just travelling. When I lived in Italy there was a big problem with the issue of the proof of insurance stamp that is displayed in the car. It was basically a protectionist stance from the Italian insurance industry, but we legally had to be insured by an Italian company.

Can you fasten it to the latest frame from a niche builder and make up a price? I'll pay you twice what you ask for the plesure.

You can buy it back in a couple of weeks – no worries.

All good when someone gets what they want and it works. A bit tedious when someone is compulsive about getting the next big thing, telling everyone about it, then selling it on before the parts have needed greasing.

Don't you hate it when you miss the start of an epic?

    Summary seems to be:

Ton hid behind a pseudonym and trolled a bit.

He has a habit of doing this. Did it to me on another forum a while back. Distinctly odd behavoiur and evidently something he feels he has to repeat. Between that and his rapid processing of new parts and bikes into Classified ads, I'm wondering what he is compensating for?

McDonalds at Moor Farm, near Cramlington. It is just off the A1 North of Newcastle and it means you can go through the Tyne Tunnel and up the A1 to get there. You miss all the confusing roads and the terrible traffic around the Metro Centre.

NE23 7RG? is the post code
