not defensive – just really enjoy poking the opinionated little people with a stick – especially if they spout off having never ridden one. :D

saldddodger – I am well aware of the differences in burning solid fuel compared to wood ie air flow under or over. I installed proper multi fuel stoves with proper grates that could be moved depending upon the fuel being used – by lever rather than howking out the grate. What you now have is a manual multi fuel stove because you have the grate for either. You installed a stove for solid fuel, then bought the adapter. I bought with it built in.

Funky – a liner might not be needed but it might be advised – you'll get condensation and the heating and cooling of the current chimney might bring you some cracking.

cookeaa – a lovely long, thoughtful post about what 29ers are good for and their relevance (or not) for bigger bikes. I particularly liked:

I have no first hand experience of 29ers

    Ah. OK. Thanks. :|

Bollocks its a peaceful religion, even the Spanish inquisition were tame in comparision to the origions of Islam, and for **** sake dont voice your opinion about it as they'll send a nutter to kill you.

My bold. If that isn't a nice broad sweeping statement then I don't know what is. If you are a scholar of Islamic history, I'd hope you would share your knowledge rather than post something like that.
Were you bullied by a child who had 'different skin' to you at school?

When will you realise that you will only be able to properly ride about a dozen OTP bikes total (and you've probably owned them already)? Look at yourself – you don't fit the 'normal' crowd. You're on the edge of cycling reason.
You are in at least the 95th percentile for height. Thats taller than 95% of the people on the planet. You are probably there for weight too. Manufacturers (of nearly anything) don't design for much more than the 80th percentile. Bikes are not made with you in mind. If Brant gave me advice on a bike, I'd follow it. He knows bikes, especially those he has had a hand in designing.
Get a custom Ti frame. You've spunked several custom frames worth in the last year. Call a maker, tell them you want big tubes, strong welds etc. It will be light (for its build), strong like bull and right for you. You can obsess on the design all you want. If you haven't got the cohones for that, get a custom steel first, but just get a custom.

most important thing is it fits in your car

    WRONG!

Most important thing is that Mrs likes it. Nothing else in the world matters.

Sadly, I have yet to show my own support at WB, something I fully intend to rectify this month.
Now that we have passed the 100 milestone and are into the bleak months, it's time to stand up and be counted in a quiet and dignified manner.

    Do you live near there?

My link seems to meet your criteria of where to look for more info/prices. It is where I started my research on the 2 stoves I've previously fitted.

Most Clean Burn stoves will be able to burn wood as well as coal/coke in a smokeless zone. Multi fuel rather than wood burning is the best answer.

tyger – we'd not listen. They are condemned, but don't get the publicity in the media. The Islamic community leaders are pretty vocal within their community – which is where it is needed.

Bugaboo = stupid expensive. We've got a whole travel system for less than that. Have a look at Mothercare's own line too. You just have to test drive a load yourself.

I got rid of the last of my wee bikes and am now pure 29er / 700.

I like the ride of 29ers but find the front end too high/ too slack on every one I've ridden.
I also notice that the front wheel has a tendency to flop/ get stuck when ridden at slow speeds on rocks and between roots .

I don't think the difference between 650 and 700 would do anything. I'm sure that flat bars and a flat stem would take out that terrible 25mm difference in height. The newer forks have the trail sorted to reduce that 'flop' you talk of.

I find that 29ers compensate too much on front height and they are all too low.

it's well over priced and you'll have to rip out the cages etc from the rear. The heater would be good but there won't be proper power at 12 and 240v available where you need it with batteries etc (not in most police vans anyway), the dash will probably be a mess etc etc.

Or you could look at the pictures in the advert before passing judgement?

Nothing TUT – nothing. Probably too wet for you to attend anyway. It was great – loads of people, loads of really nice stuff being bought and sold. A_S took some pics of the bling on offer.

I have had thoughts about a 29er with a 650b front wheel (to sharpen and steepen the handling)
Is this muddying the water too far?

    Muddying? No.

    Utterly pointless? Yup.

Come on – you've got nothing to do tomorrow lunchtime and you've got some tat in your garage. Come and palm it off on some unsuspecting loon who has a few quid from his Christmas bonus.

COME DOWN AND BUY AND SELL STUFF!

Come early and drink coffee upstairs. That would be good cos there are a load of weirdy beardy blokes sat in there and they look a right bunch of mentalists. I'd have people to talk to that don't scare me.

Actually – I could care less if not one more got made or sold. I have my bikes, they are great and that'll do for me. There are so many flat-earthers who ride bikes change is measured on the geological timescale, so it'll be evolution, not revolution.

You bash up some Werthers and add vodka. Leave it for a while – drink it.

    Rocket science it isn't.

Guess how you could make Mars vodka, or perhaps pear drop vodka? :?

I don't see why you should buy it – I'm loathe that you should pay anything yourself when others use it. Stop being so damned generous.

I need you to have that money to buy stuff from me!

I have found more stuff to sell in my garage! YAY!

Serious point A_S – how about a donation of a quid or two from any seller to buy more tables? Nobody I've met there would object to that – seems very fair.

Had a couple of these over the years. Shakes you up badly. Rather than dwell on it, I remind myself that it is a sign to live a full life and do what you can while you can. You don't know when it is your time, so fill your boots.

As The Flaming Lips tell us:

Do You Realize – that everyone you know someday will die
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes – let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
